some of the food was great, namely the mains, but the starters were a disappointment, as was the chocolate and apricot tart, just quite bland and l couldnt recommend it honestly to a friend
It was ok, not amazing as I remember it.
Waiter came twice we just arrived, then ignored us 15min.
Glad we were early as it was already noisy and only 6 tables there...
Superb food, wine & service. Our first visit but not our last
The hype is all about this place so we were expecting huge things. All in all it was just ok rather than astounding. Considering there were 3 of us and only one glass of wine and one cocktail, a bill in excess of £180 seems a bit steep too..
Menu itself very interesting, food a bit of a disappointment, service could have been way better and friendlier. Some smile, please.
This is usually a favourite to visit when in London. A little disappointed on this occasion. The reception was not very welcoming and we were left standing for some while the booking was checked. No offer to help with coats. Our waitress was pleasant and food came out quickly. While the food was pleasant the fish mains lacked the usual flavour and the yoghurt cake, a usual favourite, far too acidic. Chicken main and chocolate tart did not disappoint.
I was very excited about going here however I found the food average and overpriced for what you get. Lacked some flavours. Service was good.
Absolutely wonderful food. Expensive even at that quality.
I’d forgotten how good this place was - the flavours are just insane. We fell in love all over again!
Delicious food, with best ingredients. And wines to match.
A real team, too who all know the food/wines and deliver it to you with grace and pride.
Always a genuine delight to eat at Moro.
Amazing lunch as always at Moro. I will most definitely be back!!
The service was charming and attentive . We were seated close to our neighbours but didn’t feel hemmed in and noise level ok . Food was delicious esp the pork belly and kale and the prawns for starter. Quite pricey but worth it .
Great food only let down by disappointing vegetarian offering.
We had a lovely time although for Valentine’s Day the place didn’t feel romantic. Just lacked a bit of warmth. Like candles and perhaps something nice on the tables. So yeah nice for casual dining but not for romance. The staff were lovely but the guy on the door took a while to acknowledged we were standing there waiting. I dislike that lack of skill in noticing somebody has arrived, to make them feel welcome. I think it’s cool, courteous and professional when someone’s on the case the moment you arrive. It makes you feel special straight off. Didn’t get that here. The waitresses were lovely though. Very caring and the food was lovely. I felt the chef loved his work and the team at Moro are happy. Yes we enjoyed ourselves. These are not complaints just observations.
Chef walked through restaurant (bar) in dirty chefs whites to go to the shops, as a chef myself this is recognised as very unprofessional.
High expectations of food, however there was low execution.
Moro is always so delicious and a lovely experience. It's a testament to the food and the people that it's been a favourite forever.
Good food- buzzing place would certainly recommend it. Wine list mark-up a little excessive but I guess that is trendy London for you!
A business lunch on a grey Monday was made delightful by the excellent food and service at Moro. All our choices were interesting and delicious, service was friendly and quick but not obtrusive. The restaurant was quiet and sometimes this makes staff either bored or overly attentive but not here. It wasn’t cheap but not was it outrageous and the range and quality of food was inspiring.
This restaurant has character all its own with great imaginative food and dedicated staff.
Have eaten here a few times. We ate early & knew table was only ours for 2 hours but were reminded rather brusquely when we arrived. Two people eating can easily finish in 2 hours, the time limit is more pertinent to tables of 3 or more.
Service efficient rather than friendly & efficient. Food excellent as always.
Great cuisine. Nice atmosphere - great for catching up with friends/family, dates, celebrations. Excellent wine list. Counter seating a little crowded but not bad.
Love Moro, and this was a great meal, as usual. Also my favourite cook book!
We love Moro for its great food and ambience and just can't help but keep coming back for more!
Hearty soup followed by delicious cod. Always a pleasure.
The food was delicious, as were the drinks. They seemed a bit understaffed when we were there.
We went for a pre-theatre meal. The service was competent, the food very tasty with fresh ingredients and a home-made feel to it. Excellent chewy bread. Decent house wine. Friends for whom this was a first loved it.
Great food lovely staff would always recommend this place
Delicious food, and restaurant not too noisy- sometimes it is too noisy- we were well looked after and had a lovely lunch
Very sophisticated and subtle food; everything done to perfection. Wine list to match.
My fav place in London, I come back and back. The Lamb is always amazing, this time I had the Cod which was lovely
Small mains at £ 26.50. Small but perfectly formed lamb dish. Huge yoghourt cake tasted of lemon curd and looked a mess
Super tapas and fantastic lamb and sensibly priced wine. We went as a party of 5 post bakery treat and everyone loved it!
Great atmosphere and fabulous food. Looking forward to my next visit
Starter and main were delicious and large.
Service was friendly if a bit slow at points
Dessert was not good - had the yoghurt cake which looked like a splat on the plate and tasted acidic and unpleasant. My brothers and boyfriend who usually eat everything I leave couldn’t even finish it for me
Moro is a great place to be with your friends and find space to concentrate on the important things in life like friends and food
The service was efficient, but not client friendly. No-one asked if the meal had been enjoyable, or made any other courteous comments. The wood-smoked belly of pork was really dry; it is quite a feat to do this to pork belly, which has so much natural fat. The good was slopped onto the plate and looked most unappetising.
Disappointing all round.
For me it is a restaurant offering a high standard of food without being "stuffy". The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the food delicious.
Always enjoy eating at Moro! Combined with a show at Sadlers Wells - a pretty perfect day.
Our 3rd visit for a Pre Théâtre meal.
Great speedy service and fabulous food.
They ask beforehand if it’s a pre-Théâtre booking and then ensure you don’t wait around but never rush us.
Been going for years . Still one of my absolute favourites
