Moro is an old favourite of mine. I hadn't been in a while, but it was wonderful, as ever. Unique flavours, everything cooked perfectly. Quick service, well-informed waiters. Not too noisy. Not cheap, but worth every penny
Interesting food. Great service. Fair price. Love it!
Lovely meal extremely tasty - good service lovely staff
Great atmosphere for lunch and I've been here before a few years ago. Unfortunately, this time i was a little underwhelmed by the food, especially given the prices. My fish main came in a gravy with broccoli which seemed to dilute the flavours, while the lamb seemed fine - but not the spectacular cuisine I'd been expecting.
i have been to Moro before and loved it but they sadly seem to have lost their way a bit. it was decent enough overall, but the 1970s called and they want their boiled broccoli back, seriously you can't serve broccoli boiled to softness like that in 2019. it was like my gran used to make, and not in a good way.
Always great, vibrant food. Been coming here for over twenty years and never a bad meal.
An excellent restaurant for a business lunch or meal with friends. Good wine to accompany the meal consisting of exciting new starters [eg girolle mushrooms on sourdough toast] and mains; the lamb was, and always is, excellent - served "pink' just as it should be. Table service was very efficient and friendly.
We've been going to Moro for years and the quality has steadily declined. The food is good but overpriced and the wait-staff is lukewarm, at best (which makes the 12.5 percent 'optional' gratuity outrageous). Currently looking for a new favorite restaurant...
We had a table at 6pm last Saturday and the restaurant was about one-third full at this time. We were sat right at the back and had to keep trying to catch the eye of the server whilst she was in conversation in order to be served. The food was delicious though and we had treated some family to the restaurant for the first time. It was just a shame that the service wasnt as good as normal.
We have been a number of times and this time was the most disappointing with quality and presentation of food. It all felt a bit tired
Have dined at Moro since it opened 29years ago and it is always excellent. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant to all.
Best food ever
Delicious food, fantastic service, buzzy (pretty loud), and very enjoyable.
Wonderful food, as always; great atmosphere; attentive service.
I have had all the Moro/Morito books for some years; love them and cook from them regularly.
As we live in the Lakes and get to London seldom I was very much looking forward to eating there.
However I have sadly to say that it was a disappointment. Super bread though.
My Wife had the cauliflower soup which was nearly cold, bland and uninspiring.
I had the morcilla/caramelised apples which was pleasant but far too much little gem and not enough apple. Again bland is the word.
My mains was the pork belly with the sweet and sour spinach. Very nice but so large a portion that eating it became a chore and meant; quite apart from feeling seriously uncomfortable, that it stopped me having a dessert.
My wife had the mixed veg mezze and again boring and bland fitted the description.
Wines were superb however.
Service was slow and unobservant. Pleasant staff though. Not having some sort of gentle background music resulted in our having to listen to the loud and constant dialogue from the next table which did not assist in making this a relaxed and enjoyable experience. I do not usually do "reviews" as they can be so subjective (quite apart from the delights of a certain "trip a......" which from our experience can contain many false reviews posted by competitors) but this was such a disappointment and could so easily be improved that I felt the need to comment. Hopefully things will get better!
The food and service were excellent . The noise unfortunately was not impossible but very high.
The ingredients were of first class and we had a very good and jolly time.
One of our favourite restaurants in London. Food is always outstanding, great service too. Love the ambience, can be a little noisy but it's all part of the vibe.
Waiters seemed unhappy. Food was quite nice though the skin on my fish had an unpleasant burnt flavour and it came with 'slow cooked broccoli' which was a bit like baby food. All a bit mushy. Didn't really feel worth the price tag- not exceptional. Felt stark like a cafeteria. Also we felt rushed - when I booked the confirmation said we could have the table for 1 hour 45 but they started rushing us out (rudely) after 1 hour 30 (fair enough that's their policy but they should have mentioned it when we sat down).
Delicious food & wine, great service. Would hope to visit again soon.
Good food, great wine and excellent staff; what more van you wish for...
Both of the two best meals we have eaten out, have been at Moro’s. The flavours are so real, earthy and natural. A total treat.
Excellent as always
Girolles starter showed an absence of understanding in cooking the mushrooms and ended up being merely too watery and devoid of taste. Chicken and Lamb mains were outstandingly good. Fish mains were badly overcooked. Restaurant way to noisy to talk to ones table companions. Staff always friendly and helpful. We will probably go again because the restaurant is still one of the best post Sadler's Wells dining options despite leaning towards mediocrity.
Really amazing food, very special! The mixed veggie mezze is the best.
the staff were exceptional , knowledgeable , friendly and unobtrusive . the food arrived quickly and was excellent . i would not hesitate to recommend the sadlers wells early free pudding deal ; )
Average at best on all fronts. Hasn’t aged particularly well!
You are one of the few restaurants in London that have managed to maintain excellence for over 20 years. I rarely order sea bass in restaurants because I have a very good fishmonger and cook it myself.
the dish on Friday was faultless.
Food great as ever
Service fantastic at first when quiet, however when restaurant was full the waiting staff struggled a little to cope
Food was really good. I wished we had sat at the main hall as the side conservatory is not as atmospheric. But all in all excellent.
Love sitting at the bar for tapas in this lively, fun restaurant. Service great, food delicious and overall experience 5-star!
Was expecting better after all the positive things we heard. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes...the Sea Bass was good, but the Mackerel was barely edible and our dessert cake was average at best. Good vibe in the restaurant and other table’s food looked good, so I would give it another shot, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
Great food and good atmosphere. The only problem was the main course food arriving only a few minutes after the aperitif (even though they were ordered in sequence)
Loved our dinner here. Friends recommended it and they were not wrong. The sea bass, the soup, the aubergine starter, the Negronis were all excellent, as was the extensive wine list. We were there on a Thursday night after 8:30: The restaurant was packed and the energy level high. If you are looking for a low key, quiet restaurant for deep conversation, then book late when the crowds break up.
It was great. The food was delicious and just the right quantity and weight for lunch. My only complaint was that it is very (cheerfully) noisy which makes it difficult to hold a conversation. Would definitely go again but try to get a quieter table.
My first time to Moro
Rudy was brilliant! The food was gorgeous and inspiring and it's on a lovely street in London. Go check it out - it's definitely worth a visit - more than once!
Thank you to all
My favourite restaurant - as always the food was delicious
Nice food and very friendly staff, I would recommend!
Good food quality but small portions and overpriced. Ambience is a bit noisy
Food was very good but the portions are too large . Think the value for money particularly for the mains not that good. Stall helpful and pretty attentive though it does get busy.
Overall still a very good restaurant (been going over some years).
It is noisy !
Excellent food and great ambience, unusual menu, just a bit noisy for intimate chat
