Moro restaurant in London’s Exmouth Market may retain its reputation as one of the hippest restaurants in one of the hippest parts of the capital, but this Clerkenwell restaurant still focuses more on good food than its own image. Moro’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar, open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven, is functional and welcoming. Cuisine of the southern Mediterranean, from the Iberian Peninsula into Northern Africa, is the menu’s exclusive province.

Most of the dishes were outstanding. Really delicious. Duck brik, slow cooked lamb, aubergine salad and rose water ice cream - all incredible.
Only one dish was disappointing, the prawns - tiny shrimps and very little flavour. This did not detract from the evening because everything else was so good.
Staff were lovely. Seemed very covid-compliant, but still managed to create a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Well done Moro
Really enjoyed this first visit to Moro since the Lockdown, food, wine and service excellent.
This was planned as a birthday treat for our twins. We all had a fantastically unforgettable evening.
Some of the best food in London. I come back time and again for the spiced labneh and the hummus with lamb. :)
I have been to the seafood festival in the smaller restaurant previously- now in Moro the feel is much more of mass catering and the Sherries seem less varied and of average quality.
Last festival for us
Moro put on Fiesta de Marisco which was delicious, interesting food and excellent value
We were not very impressed this time around. The wild sea bass I wanted was already sold out, so they suggested a turbo for the same price instead which I accepted, it was not the same receipt (I was not made aware of, no lemon at all but some harissa instead), and the portion very little for the price (18 GBP); it was tasty albeit not warm enough and very simply cooked. They're using too much oil everywhere, resulting in feeling very heavy and hiding the natural taste of the food. Their bread is delicious and the wine too! The service was very kind and attentive. Dessert portions were great.
Wonderful evening with Great food. New menu with more choices
Dining at Moro was a lovely experience, especially just before another Covid curtailment. It was atmospheric, especially with the diners outside on the pavement. We sat near the door and it felt busy and buzzing but not too noisy. The food was stunning and there were lots of choices. Service was good and friendly. All in all we had a lot of fun and loved the food.
Great as ever - tho I didn't enjoy the new tapas-style menu as much as the old one. Food still wonderful tho and excellent service.
High quality cuisine and reliability
Great food and service, some dishes a bit pricey for what you get, but overall very good
Excellent food with attentive staff who were there when needed without being over bearing.
Lovely evening with great service. We had a selection of small plates and two main courses. Both the mains being Whole Mackerel and Lamb Shoulder was fantastic!
Service was outstanding and quality of food fantastic.
Delicious flavours, well-thought-out dishes. Loved the food.
Excellent food, well prepared, with extremely accomodating outdoor service. A perfect casual lunch of the highest quality.
Love it as always
New style menu as superb as the old one. Very innovative to serve the ‘old’ mains as tapas no doubt to cope with the current situation. Great tasting food, excellent service and good value
Lovely 6-course tasting menu with sherry pairings. Really thoughtfully put together, excellent service and buzzy inside as usual.
Lunch took more than two hours - food was very slow to come out and especially the main course seemed a bit slap dash.
The seafood menu was absolutely delicious .
It was a set meal but all courses were interesting and delicious.
We had the sherry pairing and it was great to taste different sherries.
We all arrived at the same time and the only downside was it was rather lengthy 3 hours but actually we didn’t mind it was worth it .
Thanks very much
Food quite tasty but an underwhelming experience .Service average.
We've been coming to Moro for years and this was the first time ever that we were terribly disappointed . Three items were off which greatly limited our choice . The restaurant seemed overstretched and the service especially at the start of our evening seemed tense and nervous . We settled for the chicken and whilst mine was OK my friend's was really undercooked . The desert was as usual really nice but on the whole , no this was just not up to par . The new menu too leaves a lot to be desired . Go back to the old one would you ? Sharing plate style doesn't work here if I order a plate of beetroot ideally id like some beetroot on it , we counted 4 sad little dices .
We've been coming here for years , always take our sons at Christmas . Seriously thinking of looking elsewhere . Please don't fall into the trap of laziness and self congratulation MORO . You are a great restaurant and could be again
I love Moro and come here knowing that I’ll always have a perfect meal.
Best tortilla I had in ages! I was craving Mediterranean/south European flavours and Moro took me there. It is a big restaurant so it gets a bit noisy. Covid measures were in place: NHS test and trace QRcode and everyone wearing masks, which I really appreciate.
The food was outstandingly good. We've been wanting to go for years, and it didn't disappoint. The service was also excellent, and also very quick. The only downside was the level of noise, which for most the evening was very high and made conversation pretty difficult.
I’ve been coming to Moro for more than 15 years and it has never been anything less than brilliant. This was no exception - if anything the new-style menu is even better, with greater choice of small sharing plates.
Nice atmosphere within a great selection on the menu.
Distance between table were very appreciated
Truly amazing ! Moro never fail to impress - love it
Excellent food, wine and service as always. Coping well with Covid restrictions.
Very enjoyable as usual. Lamb paired with padron peppers, pumpkin, yam and chickpeas with patatas bravas went well with glasses of vina muriel. A dessert of yogurt cake and a glass of colet vatua follow by an espresso was most a welcome end to the meal.
The lamb sweetbreads weee delicious.
The yogurt cake is a must.
Fantastic food, rich flavours.
Complete menu being small sharing plates, allows you to try more things.
Tge restaurant was a little lacking in ambience and 3 of our dishes were way too salty. Our server was lovely though I felt she didn't really understand the menu. When asked what was in the yogurt cake she said 'sponge'.
Excellent food, great service...all in all a thoroughly good night out. Thank you Moro!
Lovely atmosphere, brilliant service and great food!
Having heard a lot about Moro I was really looking forward to it. It was disappointing. Maybe Friday lunch is not the best time to go. The food was good but a bit over salted and the green salad was drenched in dressing. I know this because my dining partner had been a week before and said it was delicious. The mackerel was good like I make at home. Staff were friendly.
Never disappoints, been to few restaurants since COVID and they all seem to have hiked prices and reduced portions but Moro was still really good quality and reasonably priced
Poor service, small portions, several dishes we ordered forgotten, not maintaining 2m between tables.
Great varied menu with sharing ethos meant we got to taste everything. Especially good were the muhummara, beetroot manti and the green goddess salad and of course the fabulous slow cooked lamb 😁
