Morton's The Steakhouse - Downtown DC
It was amazing!
Overprice, lack of service and menu items were " not available today" It's Wednesday night at 7pm . Not a Monday. 7 people from my office went for a dinner that I booked. the feedback was unanimous that all aspect of food, service, noise, price etc were bad. Every person had an issue to report on and there were all different. For instance, the salad on the menu was not available. Salad ? , The steaks was well done when he guest asked for rare, wine was not cheap! Not returning.
On vacation so we went out to dinner at Morton’s. We have been to several of the restaurants in different cities and they were all very good. The DC location was fabulous with great food and service. We had a great time and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to have dinner.
Kendra was the best waitress! Paid attention to every detail!
Morton’s always have been one of our top go to steak places! Our server was great, very attentive. The reason I gave 3 stars for ambiance was because of the cigar smoke. Unfortunately, they allow smoking on their patio and you can smell it throughout the restaurant!
It was nice good hanging with friends but atmosphere was a bit cookie cutter
After we were seated it took 22 minutes before anyone came to see if we wanted anything. We put our whole order in for a party of 4 including drinks because we didn’t know when they would be back. The drinks and salads were good. The medium well steaks were bloody but the Cajun ribeye was very well seasoned and our son ate it anyway. They offered free coffee but when a meal takes more than 2 hours it does not need to be extended any longer. It was easy to get same day reservations on a Saturday and the restaurant was not crowded at all. Now I understand why.
Two couples celebrating wedding anniversary, 38 years and the other 7 years.
Cigar smoke is a turnoff.
Restaurant week deal was very good. Asked for Med Rare fillet Mignon and received Medium. It was flavored ok. I expect more from a steak house. Sides are very pricey. Smaller portions at lower prices would be better. Soft drink was pricey as well, but bottomless so ok.
Service was great. Noise level was a little high.
Typical upscale restaurant with elegant and spacious surroundings good for business meetings and quiet conversations. Food and service ok. Only problem was with the summer Restaurant Week menu - online menu had steak for lunch but not in the restaurant. We saw diners who challenged the restaurant on it and eventually got the online menu honored but if you don't feel like starting your meal with an argument you'd end up paying more if you still wanted to have the steak which was what happened to us. Probably not an intentional bait and switch - since they eventually fixed the discrepancy so no more steak in all the menus - but it was the kind of mistake that made the customer feel cheated and the restaurant look bad.
Very much enjoyed our experience at Morton's in Downtown DC. This was our first visit at this particular location, and we were very pleased. We will be back!
Our waiter was great. However, getting our meals in a timely manner was not great, but it was not our waiter's fault. I blame the cooks, but the delicious meal and dessert were worth the long wait.
The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
AS always the food is excellant as well as the service. First tme at that location.
Macallan event was excellent! Dining experience was excellent as well. Love the personal touch!
The food was rediculously overpriced and wasn't worth what we paid. Everything was mostly flavorless. I had to add alot of salt to my chicken entre and my wifes shrimp alexander was just shrimp with panko breadcrumbs. No bacon wrap or anywhere worth the $44 price I paid. My daughters 6 oz fillet was so tiny it could have been eaten in 4 bites. A total ripoff. I'm not too pleases to say the least.
Wonderful experience at our last night in DC
Yes, I would recommend Morton's in DC to my friends and colleagues. The food is always great and the service is stellar. To really enjoy the restaurant one should stop in the Bar and get to know Daniel, Danny and Robert. The people that help them are always polite and helpful.
Great steaks as usual!
Outstanding food and impeccable service.
Always get excellent service when sitting in the bare area.
Be aware of the upselling of the loyalty card. If your server doesn’t mention the charge be aware as there is one.
Shrimp Alexander and side of cream corn excellent!
Great dining experience. The food as usual was very good. Our server, Eric, was attentive.
Anne Marie was our server and she was absolutely delightful! Morton’s never disappoints!
Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. The food was excellent.
The waiter and Danny and dan in the bar are great. They keep me coming back
Morton’s has certainly rebounded. There was a time in which we had gone several times only to experience an average meal (not what Morton’s was known for). This time we had one of the best meals there in years. Kudos to management and staff. The filet was easily one of the best I’ve had in recent memory. Keep up the great work! will be back for sure.
Food was excellent. Service was exceptional.
Too many children with oblivious parents. No action by staff. No dress code enforcement.
Waiter was disengaged and my salad was missing a key ingredient.
Phenomenal is the only word i can call it! Anne Marie was outstanding as well as all the staff being well informed. Thank you for such an incredible experience and making my partner feel like royalty.
Great location for steak dinner. And they have an outdoor terrace where smoking is allowed. That is a rare find in this town. Highly recommended.
It was a 3+ hour epic experience. There was something very wrong at the restaurant. Our servers were kind - but it was clear things were not running smoothly. We will not go back.
We went to celebrate Father's Day. We were pleased by the relaxed atmosphere. There was a good crowd, but it was not super noisy. It was a lovely evening and we would have preferred to sit outside, but, unfortunately, cigar smoke prevented us doing that. The atmosphere was quite low key and relaxing. We were shown to a booth, which was a bit of a challenge for us to get in and out of, since we're not as trim as we once were. Service was a bit slow, and the waitress apologized several times for that, being a holiday, they were understaffed. (Note to self: beware restaurants on holidays) We were pleased pretty much by quality of the food. If we had ordered the Father's Day specials for $59 each, I think we would have been served sooner and enjoyed a better value. As it was, my husband opted for the crabmeat cocktail (which was pretty straightforward, but nothing special). I had the lobster cocktail which I thoroughly enjoyed, but wanted to save room for my rib chop, so did not finish it. We ordered horseradish mashed potatoes (disappointing--too heavy on the horseradish) and sauteed spinach with mushrooms (okay). I was very disappointed with my steak, as I was perfectly cooked, but not really tender. Perhaps it was the cut. I had not had one before, but I'm a rib eye fan, and thought I was getting an upgrade. My husband's filet was fine, although he was not overjoyed with it. For dessert he had vanilla ice cream. He ordered expresso, but they brought him just regular coffee and he was disappointed. I had the chocolate mousse, which was very nice, and no coffee. Their house bread--onion brioche--was a special treat, so we took that home, as well. I had a glass of Reisling and my husband, who does not drink alcohol, had the San Pellegrino. With tip, it all came to $275. I feel like for that price, I should have been thrilled. I might return, but will be more judicious in my choices next time and avoid holiday crowds.
Amazing dinner - amazing service! Delicious and they went out of their way
Exceptional food and service!!
Outstanding food as always! The cheesecake was to die for! 💕
