Add a piping hot pie, free range sausages or vegetarian option.. pour on your choice of fresh gravy.. and you'r done. Feel all warm and friendly.
Cumberland sausage with lightly toasted, hand cut crusty bread (Vegetarian option available)
Natural sweet potato with carrot and a sprinkling of chilli
Really great food and nice chilled atmosphere . Only complaint is there was only one waitress so service was a bit slow Took around 50 mins from arriving to be seated and receive food
First time at Mother Mash, lovely waitress was very attentive and very sweet. Food was good, old fashioned pie & mash or a Posh pie, whatever floats your boat. Big portions. Good value. Will be going back. Julie
So I had two dinners there and finished both! Their food is amazing! I would definitely go back again and I’ll take a friend with me next time! Also £10 for a big pie, a good portion of mash and lots of gravy! Also you get to choose from different mashes and gravies and they have good quality produce. Also the ladies that work there are lovely and friendly. Could not say anything bad about my experience there.
Amazing food and amazing service!
The menu choices were fab, the mash and gravy and veggies were all absolutely delish. I’d go back just for the sides (cauliflower cheese, green beans and bacon, and mash and gravy!)
Sadly the sausages were disappointing - the Cumberland one had a strange almost liver like aftertaste and the chilli one tasted more like a chorizo. Service was great and the place was quiet on a Monday night.
Absolutely amazing!! The best comfort food! Service was quick and very very friendly!!
The food was lukewarm which was very disappointing. Servers cleared table while other people still eating which is poor etiquette.
The restaurant was recommended by a friend and they were right, the food was great and the staff were friendly. Would definitely go back
Great food, great service. They’ve obviously put effort into Covid-19 measures and the ability to track people.
Couldnt eat the sausages, felt like all our meals came out the microwave- they were ready in 5 mins before our drinks had even arrived!
This place offers amazing pies at a great price point. Been here many times and brought many friends, and we all agree that this is the best pie and mash you can get in London without breaking the bank. Outdoor seating is a plus as well. The only downside is that the variety of pies now seems to be less than before, with limited options for those who don’t eat red meat. There are only two vegetarian options on the menu and sometimes at busy moments there is only one that is still left. That might pose problems for companies with vegetarians or people with allergies. Otherwise, this place is great.
The staff were so friendly and helpful with their recommendations, I would definitely eat here again.
Thanks Katie, very kind works.
Mother mash never fails to deliver, great to see you back open again!
Thanks Craig. Very kind. Thanks for coming back
Great service and great food. Have been here a few times and always love coming back.
Not very much atmosphere, and certainly not service with a smile. Food was nice, but was pricy for pie and mash really.
Great place to bring your foreign friends for a casual but very authentic lunch or dinner.
Love this place, I've been back several times since. Simple sausage, pie and mash done extremely well. Amazing desserts as well. High recommend this place.
Exactly what it says on the tin! Food is good but a little pricey.
Excellent service, great value for money, & very attentive staff. Food is fabulous to boot. There aren’t many tables, as it’s a fairly small establishment, so booking could be advised. But overall, I thoroughly recommend this place.
Poor quality. Seating small, uncomfortable wooden slats. Staff inattentive. Mash was greasy and tasteless, pie soggy. Both heated in microwave. Wish had just walked out.
Amazing food, fairly priced. Will definitely be going back for a 2nd visit
Staff are really friendly and very welcoming. Food is served really quickly and tastes great. Will definitely be back and would defo recommend for anyone who is craving pie and mash!
Staff all friendly, and quality of good is great.
Nice cosy atmosphere.
Incredible food and really good value for the price
Gorgeous pie and mash! Excellent prices for the location, would definitely eat here again!
My new favourite restaurant. Waitress was incredibly nice and the food was SPOT ON, and I usually find it hard to find good vegan options.
Mother Mash is the essence of "do few things very well." One of those things is dessert, be sure to save room.
Also, when reserving on open table be sure to give plenty of lead time. We attempted to book about an hour before our arrival and they had not yet been able to confirm by the time we got there. We got lucky that someone had canceled, so we were seated immediately, but the staff recommends 2-4 hours. Book early (and often).
Absolutely loved the food. The service however would put me off returning. Staff were quite rude and talking to each other and made you feel like they wanted you out ASAP. Which is a pity because otherwise it would be outstanding.
Loved it here. Food was delicious and good value. Friendly and polite staff. Don’t even think of getting in without booking. Saw so many people turned away.
The food was tasty and good value. We had meat pies and they were excellent. The service was friendly and the ambience was pleasant. The only issue was that the seating isn't particularly comfortable. We would have no hesitation going back.
Nice big portions of straight forward, good quality grub. Probably one of the least pretentious and most friendly independent restaurants I've been to in London.
Great food and staff were incredibly friendly. Small inside but the food is delicious
We ate at Mother Mash on a Friday lunchtime and taking the advice of other reviewers, made sure that we booked a table in advance. When we arrived it was not too busy but it certainly filled to capacity, soon after. Others have commented on the service not being the best but our experience was very positive. We received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our table. The service was very efficient and the staff were extremely helpful. The pies, mash and gravy were excellent; really tasty comfort food. Drinks were good, too. Compared to the price of having pie and mash in a pub, it was not bad value, either. I would happily return and would not hesitate to recommend.
The service and the price wad good but the food not so much
Comfort food just as it should be 👍
and friendly staff too ❤
Gravy was amazing, mash was amazing, pie was amazing. Everything was just great.
Really awesome food. There was a continuous line out the door. They were short-staffed the Friday night we went but it was great. I would highly recommend going and making sure you have a reservation.
If you are going for the first time, I would choose the basics as they are rock solid. We ventured off with the special of the day and sweet potato mash. Still very good but the Horseradish Mash + Cumberland sausage and Traditional gravy was amazing. Family wants to come back here next time we're in London.
Very good food, nice people serving and welcome environment
Good food, great location . Worked well for our party of 6 with 3 kids and so helpful to be able to book in advance. Perfect menu for a chilly January day.
If you grew up on mashed potato you’ll love this place. Not cheap but still good value as delivers what it says it will. Service friendly and efficient but didn’t hustle us out despite being busy.
