Add a piping hot pie, free range sausages or vegetarian option.. pour on your choice of fresh gravy.. and you'r done. Feel all warm and friendly.
Great service and amazing food in such a good location! Keep room for the sticky toffee pudding - the best I have ever had (and I've had ALOT!).. 100% would recommend!
Not a place to linger over a leisurely lunch but more of a fuel stop with good food and service. does what it says on the tin ! serves great mash and pies and the only trouble is we were too full up to have desert!
Good value and would thoroughly recommend. Great location too as we looked round Carnaby Street and Liberty afterwards.
Taste so good.
Close so early, bit it is England I think is normal here
Homely and filling food with great portion sizes.
Decor similar to a traditional East London pie and mash shop!
All very good . Fantastico food and nice service . We’ll return
Food arrived quickly and very tasty.
Fabulous food, quick service and reasonable price!
I go to Mother Mash everytime I travel to London, this thrusday I was with some english friends and they LOVED it.
The personnel is extra nice, the local food is amazing and the pie we had as dessert was something out of this world.
I totally recommend it!!
Lovely place with lovely food and service. Pies, mash and gravy were all delicious and really well priced! Not 5 stars as they could have done with one more waiting staff on a busy Thursday.
Was SO looking forward to eating at MotherMash after a friend had recommended it. Sadly though the pie and mash was luke warm and rather salty and the apple crumble and custard was good but didn’t have the homemade taste and crunch I was hoping for.
The staff were helpful and did get me another pie and mash and that was fractionally hotter but still not the piping hot pie and mash I was hoping for.
I will probably go back and give them another try as I love good pie and mash but please please can we have it served nice and hot and a bit less salty?
If you love a good old banger and mash then you have to come to Mother Mash. Probably the only thing that could improve is three sausages instead of two. Other than that, it was just lovely. I will for sure return in the future.
We moved the booking to later on but the host was accommodating and still gave us a great service 10/10
Food arrived cold and got reheated in the microwave. The sausages were tiny and desiccated. There was rubbish being stored under the seats. It was filthy dirty and a look in the kitchen confirmed my fears. Horrible.
Delicious sausages, pie, mash and gravy. Wide range of options to choose from arrived quickly and was piping hot. Service quick but not overbearing. Puddings also delish comfort food.
Great food unfortunately let down by miserable service, we sat at the front but should have sat at the back as very small restaurant. Constant activity, bottles were stored under my seat, where the waitress kept refilling bar from, bags of rubbish being taken out so had to lean right over to avoid them and being near the entrance customers also waiting whilst waiting to be seated.
Simple but tasty food served quickly. Reservations highly recommend.
Great if you like mash quick service and tasty food
Came here as a last minute gathering with a few friends with the criteria of 'British' & 'cheap'. This place definitely did not disappoint! All my friend's approved with so many options of mash, pie, sausages and gravy! Would come here again!
Amazing pie but shocking service - kept forgetting what we wanted, had to ask multiple times to be served, and one woman was really moody and throwing things around everywhere
I was with a party of French visitors. Good British cuisine and friendly kind service. Lovely evening overall. Great for a Taste of authentic food. Reasonably priced : good area.
Absolutely outstanding food! I heard it was tasty but the reviews couldn’t even do this place justice on how good it was!
Good home made food we had pie and mash both opting for different mash mushy peas gravy option served very quickly and delicious followed by equally delicious desserts we had a chocolate one and Apple and BlackBerry crumble best crumble ever and with drinks all for under £40
Table was ready when we arrived, food was nice. Service nice, but a bit lost.
Fantastic resteraunt in the heart of Soho. Great atmosphere but very busy would recommend you book. Friendly and efficient staff and reasonable price. Very impressed what a great concept
Great traditional fare moving into the 21st century. Good British food served in a friendly atmosphere would recommend this place to friends and will be back when in London again
Generally I find the friendliness of customer service in London to be colder and more blunt than Canada or US, which has a more of a customer is always right approach. In that regard Mother Mash is about on par with the most of the restaurants that I have been so far in London. The service itself (following up on empty drinks, taking away plates and getting food to the table on time ) was good. Food was amazing. I would highly recommend.
We come here all the time! Great food! Great service!
I went to Mother Mash with a friend on Saturday evening for a quick dinner. The food was homely and the portion sizes were decent. The only thing we were a little unimpressed with was the service (or lack of). The waitresses were a little rude and not very attentive. Also- a bin in the middle of the restaurant? seemed a little unhygienic!
Super simple concept but who doesn’t love mash? Plenty of options, great service and delicious sausage, mash and gravy. Also had pies and puddings.
Some staff were friendly but the girl serving me wasn't, I really picked up on a "I would rather be anywhere else" vibe. The food was okay but everything was laden with black pepper, the mash, cabbage and pie was far too peppery and I had to ask three times for a glass of water. Wouldn't rate this place at all, I felt ignored and the food was below average which is a real shame as I was so looking forward to it.
Looking for a quick bite with some mashed potatoes and pie, here is the place. For foreigners, it would be a great occasion to taste British local food. The service was very nice and efficient. We came on a family lunch and they were great with her. My husband had a gluten free meal so he was very pleased although they did have any gluten free desert (yet?). Since I was pregnant, I really liked the ginger ale drink, very tasty. It is a tiny place so it's better to book in advance a table which we did.
Lovely, homely food and totally affordable in a really cute environment. They didn't have any music on this time which left it a bit quiet, but I would still always recommend!
Bench seats , classic British cafe style tables . Service was quick , food was hot and came quickly .
Nice choices for pudding , we had chocolate sponge (very chocolatey) and apple and blackberry pie .
Would go again
We arrived earlier than our allotted time but it was no problem to them. We had quick, friendly service. The menu was simple but the choices were just right and of course tasted lovely. We would definitely go again.
excellent food and location great for the theatre staff very helpful.
The food was delicious and plentiful. It was unfortunately a bit noisy as we were sat near the till where the staff constantly threw empty drink bottles in to a bin which was very loud. Friendly staff, great value for money, will recommend and go again.
Great food, lovely staff and good value for money!
It was really good!!! We all enjoied this very British Experience!!!
So many possibilities! 2nd visit here. Simple and delicious. Chocolate cake was yummy too.
Delicious food and friendly staff! Best customer service I encountered in my 4 days in London!
