Mumbai Diners Club
Situated in Edinburgh's West End. Lovely restaurant with a large selection of dishes.
I arranged a work get together for 6 and arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Apart from one couple there were no other diners for lunch. We were impressed by the decor and the food was good, served promptly and reasonably priced. All good up to now. 👍
At 13:40 the table was cleared and the waiter said “Do you want anything else because we shut at 14:00” OMG! How to spoil what was an enjoyable lunch.
Absolutely fantastic service, great food and very reasonable value. Would definitely eat here again and thoroughly recommend to others.
We had a very enjoyable meal, thank you! The staff were particularly kind and friendly.
Visited on a rainy Sunday evening after a long day of travel...and we were treated to an amazing culinary treat in a top shelf establishment that was extremely clean and reasonably priced. The service was outstanding; our server was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable about the dishes...and offered on-target recommendations. Among the dishes we ordered: the signature Chicken Tikka, marinated in English mustard and yogurt, with a side of off-the-menu red curry sauce; Butter Chicken which featured a tomato cream sauce infused with spices; Bhindi Masala, an okra dish that was the best we have ever tasted; and Saag Paneer, a delectable spinach-tofu dish that rates 12 on a scale of one to ten. The Basmati rice was prepared perfectly...and I’d be remiss if I failed to mention our starter of Papadom and a Chutney Tray that offered three choices ranging from mild to spicy.
We enjoyed draft Cobra beer (well paired with Chicken Tikka) and two bottles of the balanced and fruitful Cotes-du-Rhône Victor Bernard, a delightful French offering.
The experience and value was exceptional...and Mumbai Diner’s Club is highly recommended!
Pleasant change from tourist area dining. Superb service, delicious, well prepared food, local feel.
Had a wonderful meal here. A fine dining experience! Friendly, cheerful staff. Great ambience. The food was extremely good.
We booked a Sunday lunch. Open table let us book for 1:30 but restaurant closed at 2pm. They tried to call us but our phone was off as international. The staff and kitchen waited. We were the only table so not much bustle. very quiet. Meal was so delicious (I am Indian, so know good Indian food - just saying.....). Beautiful room. Would be lovely for dinner and wish we had gone for dinner.
Very fresh and delicious. Best saag paneer ever. Highly recommend the tandoori eggplant. Staff were attentive and helpful and clearly take pride in the restaurant
Excellent food with service to match! We had a great evening there.
Alles, was man beim Inder so erwartet sin guter Qualität und in angenehmem Ambiente.
Great food and good prices. The amount of food we had was plenty and was very tasty. Will be back .
This was a great experience. A lovely modern Indian restaurant with an imaginative menu and not like the usual run of the mill curry house. The room is very tranquil with linen cloths and linen serviettes. The food has a modern twist and was delicious. Starters of lamb chops, prawns and chicken pakora were delicious and very well presented. The mains equally delicious with the best garlic naan bread we have had - thin and crispy, not a heavy or stodgy. The flavours were authentic and not the usual same old found in other curry houses. For what we had it was outstanding value. This is a very different Indian restaurant compared to the usual and long may it stay that way! A definite ‘returner’.
I was in Edinburgh for a weekend break to celebrate my birthday. My husband saw the restaurant while we were walking past and we booked it as it looked lovely. Our meal was delicious especially he scallops and mussels starter I had. The ambiance was also relaxed and intimate with wonderful service. I travel to Edinburgh quite a bit with work - I will 100% return.
We had a fantastic meal here on Monday night - excellent service, and the food was amazing, some of the best Indian food I've had. Would 100% recommend to anyone in Edinburgh.
Excellent food excellent services lovely staff. Highly recommend
The service from our waiter was fantastic - he was both friendly & efficient. I was disappointed with my choice of main course - I felt it didn’t really taste like a Bhuna. However the 3 others at the table were very happy with their choices
Welcomed on entering restaurant and taken to our table.
We were given time before ordering drinks and we then ordered 4 different main courses along with accompaniments.
The service seemed good ,however on receiving our food we were served the wrong rice and our plain paratha:s did not arrive at all. The waiter was unsure of our curry dishes and could not identify them to offer them to the correct person, and had to go back to his the notepad to go over the names of the curries before serving each of us.
On discussing the issue of the Parathas with the waiter he had ordered two nan breads in error.
Service was quick, with the food very enjoyable but could have been slightly warmer.
Disappointed with the overall experience and not sure if it is worth a return to see if this can improve.
Went on a Fri night in January. Restaurant was quiet. Excellent service and food.
Will definitely visit again.
Very fine food and Good service and advies indeed!
We were looking for real Indian food and that was What we got.
The young man serving us was very nice and gave us sole Good advies on the food and the wine.
Certainly a restaurant to return!
found this place for a christmas dinner ... very happy with the choice
Very elegant Indian Restaurant. Not very big, but plesantly decorated. Waiter should maybe work a an entertainer, but very charming. We had to wait a little longer for the table and to order, but taking in account that it was Christmas Day and very busy, that was fine. Food was very good, but the tasting menu was not available (again, Christmas Day), and a little to the expensive side.
