At the Nag’s Head we are passionate about food and the excellent quality produce that is available locally. The majority of our food is freshly prepared and cooked from ‘farm to fork’ by our Head Chef Andy Millard and his enthusiastic kitchen team. Our menu is varied and seasonal, appealing to all tastes and includes Chef Specials, favourite traditional “pub classics” and Sunday roasts. We cater for different palettes and today’s changing tastes including children, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. As our dishes are prepared and cooked in house, we can usually accommodate most dietary needs.We pride ourselves on serving locally produced real ales. Our ales come from the excellent local microbreweries and are of a very high quality. We offer a range of good quality wines and spirits to compliment our menu.

Me and my partner stayed here over the weekend and loved it from start to finish, i had the Lamb which was one of the nicest meals i have eaten. the room was so cosy, we will definitely be back again

Although it was a quiet day at the Nag's Head it did not affect the attention given nor the prompt delivery of the meal ordered. The quality of food was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Altogether a very pleasant experience.

We had a fantastic time at Nags Head. A hidden (or not so) gem in the valley... We were impressed by the food, service and wine. We can't remember the last time we dined so well.

We arrived, booked in, ordered a drink and were at our table in minutes. The waitress took our order and there was no unnecessary delay in the three courses arriving. The food was good and generally a comfortable Relaxing meal.

Food was spectacularly good, as always. There were a lot of people eating but, because the pub has different spaces, we ate in peace. By local standards, the Nags Head is not cheap. However, the excellence of the cooking makes it worth it. The staff are young and friendly making for a great all round birthday meal.

Really enjoyed new winter Menu , Golden Cenarth Cheese baked , lovely lamb rump , dauphinoise silky , Fab honey combe cheese cake and smashing chocolate tart , nice good value Pinot Noir , and great beer as allways !! Thanks again , looking forward to the next ....

Had an amazing Roast Dinner! I specified I was a Gluten Free Vegetarian (a pain in the butt diner!!) They advised me that their Nut roast wasn’t GF but the chef offered to make me a stuffed Pepper instead! Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! Will definitely be back!

Lovely friendly atmosphere especially in bar area..we always bump into soneone we know which is a treat too….lamb dish was delicious..red cabbage…pureed parnsip and duphonoise potatoes…all my favourite things. Cherry Bakewell with pistachio ice cream amazing and very good value… Nags Head our ‘go to’ for a bit of quality tine after a busy week…food never disappoints

We are staying nearby and had read such good reviews about the food which enticed us in. However, my husband had the battered fish which was over cooked, a dark brown batter and dry, even the mushy peas! My 90 yr old mum had a child’s meal of chicken goujons which again were dry and coating was hard. My mother has swallowing difficulties and found it difficult to eat. I had the cod loin which was ok but the fish was dry outside. Not sure what happened but we were disappointed. Shame.

This was a meal for two, for our 49th Wedding Anniversary, and the Nags Head, is always our go -to restaurant for special occasions! Food is always good, or exceptional, but last night, it was really outstanding. Service is excellent and discreet, and the ambiance is perfect. We always seem to meet friends and acquaintances there, and last night was no exception! Thoroughly recommend this venue, but essential to book, which you can do online.

Great food and atmosphere at the Nags head. Even for a Tues eve! We had a lovely gourmet burger and chips and shared a starter and pud. High quality food and ambience was just right. Come here quite often and not disappointed. Thank you for looking after us.

I couldn't fault Nag'sHead... and having a gluten free requirement I was over the moon with all the choices! Food was incredible... the lamb cooked to perfection! A Master Chef was behind the scenes! Wonderful that so much of the produce is souced locally. I highly recommend this restaurant!
