Nags Head Inn & Restaurant
We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience on Sunday, with conversation considerably easier after a rather noisy family party departed! But that is what contributes to a convivial atmosphere!! Will book again.
Lovely food in comfortable surroundings . Excellent service with friendly staff. Would highly recommend
Have been here a few times in the past, usually for Sunday Lunch. Always enjoyable and relaxing. The Sunday roasts are good, I can't really comment on anything else. The starters also. Service was a little slow but the staff were professional and courteous and, it being Sunday, nobody seemed too bothered with the wait. Serving draught Guinness would get them an extra point in my book!
An interesting and original selection of dishes which were all beautifully presented.
The mid week menu was good value and of sufficient variety to suit all in our group
How very nice not to have music in the background!
The serving staff were friendly, helpful and allowed our group a leisurely meal.
We will return.
A lovely restaurant in a pretty setting. Cosy and warm . Very polite and helpful staff. Excellent menu to cater for all .
Really nice evening with relatives from Hants staying with our family for the weekend we enjoyed the ambience, food and service our waitress was charming and very good at her job
Will definitely return soon
Good menu choices and tasty well presented food. Would recommend.
We found the service and attention first class and the food was excellent.
Wonderful as always.
The Nag’s Head was lovely and we enjoyed great service and wonderful food on a Sunday afternoon.
Fantastic Sunday lunch - delicious Roast Beef Sirloin with all the trimmings followed by a mouth watering Sticky Toffee Pudding. Excellent staff too. We'll be back soon with friends and family!
The food is so good and the atmosphere is lovely. Daytime service is less efficient than the evening team but it is still a great place to go. The food is simply delicious.
Loved it. Good choice of food. Wine is a bit pricey.
Fabulous food, if a little on the pricey side for a pub / restaurant but delicious in all respects.
Always an excellent spot for a business lunch! My colleague and I both opted for the fish and chips, which was excellent!
Good food . Excellent service
Very good on our first visit for a while.Excellent for our visitor who was over from Canada.
Would not hesitate in coming back again in the near future.
Lovely gourmet country pub, craft beer, great rooms and an easy commute from London
Room was very comfortable and the restaurant had great food garden bar lovely
First time eating here as we were travelling en route to elsewhere and stopped here for an impromptu Sunday lunch. Delicious food and great service will definitely return.
Wonderful food in a pleasant atmosphere. A refine village pub experience.
Well above average pub food at a good price point. Attentive staff. Attractive and well maintained old
Always great to bring family! Service app too notch and good great. Perfect Sunday lunch.
I'm torn here because I like the Nags Head. The "however" is the service - again. Busy sunny Sunday lunchtime and (apparently) only 2 or 3 people on service. Although we sat outside so maybe the headcount is inaccurate. Anyway ordered a mains each and waited quite a long time before the waitress brought us free bread and butter because there was still a wait to endure. Meal arrived but brought 2 orders of chicken with pea veloute when only 1 requested ie 4 meals for a table of 3. Promised it would be taken off the bill but the bill payer reported this had to be prompted.
Food presentation is always great.
They are VERY dog friendly!
Not up to the usual standard as the food arrived cold and the cut of pork was tough and fatty. However they were very accommodating to our children. Usually would be 4 or 5 stars
Poor service with our order not being processed when we ordered so 45 mins before the first course arrived, and the meal not up to the Nags Heads usual standard
Starter was fine
We decided on the Nags head for a birthday celebratory dinner and are so glad we did. The whole experience was amazing from the lady that seated us to the waitress that served our table. They were friendly as well as attentive. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
We will definitely be going back.
We have been to here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Menu choice, friendly and efficient staff in lovely surroundings make it one of the best local eating venues. In particular, Helen has served us a number of times and she is a very good ambassador for the business. Pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable and always smiling.
This was our first visit to The Nags Head and we will be going back for sure. We were greeted warmly by the friendly staff and shown to our table. The menu was good and it was difficult to make a choice, however the lemon sole was delicious and the eton mess didn't disappoint either. We were dining with friends and everyone was very happy with their meals. Can't wait for our next visit.
Have been many times to Nags Head. Food was excellent.
Very friendly service.
First visit for our friends from London.
As it was a lovely evening had dinner in garden. How wonderful.
Can highly recommend as well as sister restaurant Bricklayers Arms in Flaunden
We had a Sunday Lunch and enjoyed it. The portions were not too big, which would have been off putting on such a hot day. Puddings also were good with an excellent choice.
We sat outside and the staff went the extra mile to provide what we wanted.
Great food and fab service. The raspberry gin was good too!!
I always like coming here. Food is reliable, and good ambience. Didn't give 5 stars, as service not quite up to standard. Forgot to bring bill. The manager was, in my view, not well dressed, and spent too much time chatting to friends. I did not get a word. Pea and mint soup was really good. Difficult to say food outstanding, they are not a Michelin restaurant, but it is very good.
Lovely food, service and atmosphere. I just would’ve liked a more tucked-away table. Otherwise, superb!
Excellent venue, especially for a summer evening. Beautiful gardens. Service was very friendly and the food delicious. Definitely recommended but make sure you book
Have been to the Nag's Head before, and always enjoy the food and service. This time we went on a Monday evening, and was our best visit ever. The midweek set menu, £22 for 2 courses, is excellent value, and the icing on the cake is bring your own bottle on Monday evening. The service as always was fantastic. Highly recommended, especially Monday!
We have often wanted to go to this restaurant and thought we would go for lunch recently. The food was good but nothing amazingly special but I did think for a lunch it was very over priced. I think there should be a separate lighter lunch menu not just the full restaurant menu. There was 4 of us, no wine, only 2 starters, no coffees and the bill still came to over £100 which I thought was a bit steep for lunch. A second beer didn't even materialise until we were getting the bill. I also thought it was a bit cramped but maybe that was just the area we were sitting in. Don't think I'd rush back to be honest
Great food, excellent staff and a real feel of individuality
