Perfect English country pub. From the moment we arrived until the minute we left it was exactly what I was hoping for on a Sunday lunch.
I look forward to our next visit.
Good food, nice options on where to sit… inside, out or in the Undercover tipi.
Really lovely, amazing quality food and great service. We will definitely come again. It is slightly above average prices but worth it.
Amazing food, service started off well but they did take a long time bringing bread, one of our deserts and the bill and could have been slightly more attentive, but overall we were very impressed with the food and drinks and will be returning
The experience of eating in the "wigwam" was good, the food menu was different, quality good and service swift and friendly. Will go there again.
we had the Chicken Supreme which was excellent,
we did have to wait a while which Was fine as we were just sitting relaxing and chatting.
Food was delicious and definitely worth the wait
Good food. Sat in the tipi. Nice setting. Service ok
an enjoyable anniversary meal with my wife. a good menu, although I did have my heart set on a steak, but it being a Sunday it was more of a traditional roasts menu. friendly staff and while I think a little pricey, its a venue I like for special occassions.
Great venue outside, great views, great service and food
Excellent food and service in magical setting. Just felt a bit stung on price, especially drinks with a glass of rose at over 12 quid and cheaper ingredient dishes such as mussels priced at 18. But it was all very well done.
Lunch was superb. The outside seating areas have been really well thought through, tables not too close but no feeling of isolation either. Food is beautiful and plentiful. Service is friendly and relaxed, everything you want. Brilliant.
Expensive particularly belly pork. Greasy, minuscule gooseberry Rissole was pork mince, not potato as waitress indicated Squid overcooked. Too much batter. Salmon first course very good.
Very enjoyable meal at Nags head Inn. We sat outside on the picnic benches for drinks first and then moved in to the tipi for dinner. It was a lovely quiet atmosphere and the food was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
Great service, very friendly staff.
We sat in the Tipee on a lovely summer's evening which couldn't have been better.
Our starter course, which we shared, was perfect.
Unfortunately, although my wife's main course was excellent, mine wasn't.
We were asked our opinion and to be fair the staff apologised and deducted the charge of my main course from the bill.
The desert was fantastic!
Overall we had a lovely evening, and understand that things don't always go according to plan, but I have to say my complaint was dealt with in a very professional and sympathetic manner. Taylor , one of the waiters was excellent, as were the other members of staff.
Really lovely place - would definitely recommend and 100% coming back here!
One of the best meals we’ve had in ages, can’t wait to return for dinner again soon. Lovely decor, friendly service and delicious food. Extremely well presented, great combination of flavours and textures, decent sized portions.
Fantastic venue, sat outside really enjoyed the customer care along with the divine food! Definitely recommend going.
We had a delicious meal in the Tipi space which was lovely
We sat in the teepee in the garden which was a lovely setting. Food delicious, particularly the mussels, stone bass and chocolate cremosa. Thank you
Wonderful Sunday roast, great family time and never felt rushed.
Food was amazing as always
Chose to sit outside in the canvas tepee with fresh air & view of the garden but inside looked charming & cosy. From our arrival the staff greeting, meal service, ambience, quality of food was all outstanding. Best pub experience we’ve had in the Chilterns since moving here 2 years ago. A pretty, historic, quintessentially English pub to visit with family, friends & foreign visitors.
The setting of the pub is beautiful, the tipi has been thoughtfully decorated and the dining experience was a memorable one. Staff were helpful and happy to accommodate individual requirements. Food and drink were fabulous.
We ate in the Yurt and spent a happy couple of hours eating and drinking with friends. The ambience is fab with a wood burner and twinkly fairy lights adding a touch of magic. The food was delicious and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. A special place for a celebration - we loved it!
Very good food but could do with more vegetarian options.
Firstly told no Lime cordial and then found on second order and order on wine wrong
Excellent food as always. Service a little too keen (but better than slow service).
Always a pleasure to eat and drink at the Nags. Great evening, excellent staff and lovely food.
Lovely garden. Menu not great for vegans/allergens.
What a find! We were absolutely delighted - the food was out of this world and the service was excellent. This is was the perfect place for our meal and I really couldn’t fault it. Thank you for an absolutely lovely evening. Will definitely be going back!
Lovely food but portion sizes very small for the price.
Excellent food and a lovely place to take the family for a meal.
The food was excellent and the service very good ...... lovely menu and extensive very reasonable wine list . They have a beautiful tipee outside area ... so atmospheric
Great fresh food beautifully cooked with great attention from the front of house, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is not cheap but hits the spot, no problem in recommending for any occasion.
Booked for Fathers Day lunch for 3 adults. We were underwhelmed by the experience and felt that the Nags Head was overpriced, particularly the drinks. Quality of ingredients was good, service was good but portion size and ambience was poor. We were seated in the less attractive part of the building and the decor (room and table) needed modernisation. Plenty of choice of ‘gastro’ pubs in this area serving quality pub fare. The Nags Head needs to up it’s game!
We were in the Tipi.
Unfortunately a bit chilly, but log burner helped a lot, as well as the fleeces and blanket offered.
Ambience very good. Service cheerful and helpful.
Only downside was lukewarm soup which was rectified second time around.
Food was lovely, goid portion sizes.
Nice to be able to go there again 😁
Superb food, beer and wine. Pleasant waitresses but not outstanding. Little on the pricey side for lunch at nearly £50 each.
Considering the Nags Head a wonderful restaurant I was a bit let down because the set menu was not available the night we went and the reason given was not really understandable.
Although the fish on the serving I chose was excellent the whole dish lacked of personality and taste, we were promised squid mussels and stone bass and was not to my expectations
The whole experience, the service the wine my husband’s steak were very very nice
Fantastic meal at the Nags Head on Sunday.
I never usually pick a roast dinner when dining out as I find it’s never as good as at home but I decided to go for a roast at it was delicious!
Service was amazing by all staff! (I wish I had taken their names)
My friend and I do not drink alcohol but the staff went out of their way to make us up a ‘Mocktail’ which was lovely and made our experience even more special. Thank you - we will definitely be back! 😊
Great menu at the Nag’s head and a great venue, loads of places to sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine. We tried the Sunday menu - don’t miss the fish! Exquisite.
