Our evening meal at the Nag’s Head was very nice. Our waitress was particularly good - efficient, friendly and attentive without imposing.

It was very good, but very disappointed they had no beef left. I don’t eat fish and it reduced my choice of meal to one thing.

Lovely evening with family in the pretty outside tepee on Sunday. Very nicely styled with lights and rugs and proper polished tables. Food was excellent- delicious roast monkfish done in an imaginative way as were the duck doughnuts starters! Son declared the roast pork with excellent crackling to be the best meal he'd had in ages. Sadly they'd run out of roast beef by the 6pm so obviously a lot of others knew about the great food here too.

It was excellent in the tipi. Food great. If I were to criticise it would be that many mussels were not open! Overall though a great meal.

Awesome as usual but not cheap. Is it worth it compared to somewhere else that’s very good? - depends if you have an additional spare £50

We enjoyed a very pleasant meal, thanks. The menu was short and had very limited vegetarian options. It's also quite pricey and a service charge added to the bill.

Our lunch was generally enjoyable, the food being the best part of it - inventive, high quality, very tasty and well presented. One or two of the descriptions of dishes were not entirely accurate but we willingly forgave that. The only serious criticism is that we were told that one main course needed extra vegetables but this was not the case - there was more than enough on the plate.

The ambience inside the Nag's Head is pleasant but not particularly welcoming. We were trying to decide why and concluded that it is owing to the large number of black beams.... how much lighter and warmer the interior would be if they were sand-blasted! We have recently eaten in the COVID inspired 'teepee' outside and, weather permitting, we prefer that space.

Finally, the service, which was fairly attentive when we arrived, was poor towards the end of our meal when, owing to a serving staff shift change (we were told), we twice had to get up from our table and go the bar to get attention - firstly to order dessert and then coffee. Not a big deal but this shouldn't have happened.

We recommend the Nag's Head but it could do to tighten up its act.

We had booked a table in the tipi, but found it rather noisy and exposed to the cool evening air. We asked our waitress whether there was a table inside. She checked and guided us to a free table inside which was excellent.

The service generally was excellent, as was the food.

Really enjoyed the semi-al fresco experience in the new tepee with a central log burner. Ambience very enjoyable.
The choice of ale was appreciated, and the food was served in a timely fashion and was of good quality. If there was a criticism it would be that the risotto was heavy on something which tasted somewhat like a Knorr stock cube, but that could be totally an individual tastebud thing.
One dessert was sampled and pronounced fine - caramel tart with ice cream?

Very nice location and environment. Our main course was fine but we felt a bit overpriced although concede most hospitality venues are at the moment. My dessert was a little bland. Staff reasonably attentive although there was a bit of a longer delay than we would have liked before taking our order.

Sunday roast beef lunch. Very tasty in beautiful yurt in garden. Slightly marred by noisy kids on next table but that's not the restaurants fault.

The lamb rump and belly was so incredible that it overshadowed an absolutely delicious steak!!! Please keep them both on the menu! Awesome flavour combinations - clearly some serious thought goes into the menu here. Really appreciated.

The food is OK pub level. The descriptions on the menu, however are a poor guide to the actual presentation on the plate. We had the fish main course, hake, which was well cooked but the menu did not mention that it was served with rice so we ordered a portion of frites. Other items like cauliflower and black garlic were hard to identify.
Overall reasonable but certainly not fine dining, hopefully, yet.

We have been going her for years and always had a great meal - but it has all changed - the new menu is not at all appealing and overpriced - what a shame . We found it difficult to choose a main - so ended up having a very overpriced chartcuterie board for £19 - which was uninspiring and then a desert which was strange !- Please bring back the old kitchen team :)

I like the Nag’s always have because food is good, well cooked and well presented. The time between courses is not good. The reason is evident. The tent and it’s distance from the kitchen,
And probably the priority it is given over the inside dining room.

The food at the Nags Head was at the top end of pub food - in fact I would not put it in that category. The offerings were adventurous and novel eg the granulated cauliflower with the hake and the expresso cake dessert. Shame about the woody (baby) leek though - more attention needed when preparing- and the streaky bacon in the full English breakfast, a trade description in my book !
