An Outstanding place, the foods d the drinks are spot on, the service is superb.
Customer service was poor.
The online menu was different to the one presented to us. Our first waitress said that she could make a request to the chef, only to be told by a new waitress that took our order that this would not be possible. It seems different team members have different messages to customers. It would have been courteous to atleast honour the first suggestion and consult with the kitchen first, or make it clear from the beginning that the online menu was out of date and not an option to consider.
We then asked for this new waitress' advice on what to order instead. When serving our dishes, it was clearly not what she had described but she did not acknowledge this. We called her back and she then admitted she had got the dish description wrong. We had already waited for 45minutes so decided to just eat it. This also applied to our cocktail order as she explained it came in two flavours, only to later be told when serving the drinks that she had got that mixed up too. I would suggest for staff not to take orders unless they are sufficiently informed and trained. I would also suggest being open to customers when mistakes happen to allow them to change their order if appropriate.
It goes on.
The dumplings were not available. We were only told this when presented with an alternative side dish and reassured that this was the same price. I would have expected that customers are informed and given the choice whether to still have this, let alone pay for it.
Lastly, we asked for our remainders to be packed away to take home. After waiting for 30mins, a waiter admitted they didn't have any boxes but they would be able to source some from 'next door'. We were then informed that our food was actually thrown away. I would suggest that someone do a stock check on items and clear communication between serving and kitchen staff.
It was a Saturday evening and there were two large parties that made for a very noisy environment not suitable for a date night.
Unfortunately this restaurant was closed on Saturday, l do not know why you support them by advertising for them. We travel out of Birmingham to come and have a good time on Saturday and the place was closed yet you confirmed this booking.No regard on customers / consumers . This should not be allowed to happen. I could one star is because my review could not be accepted without a star.
Arrived to a reception with no host and some kind of spillage, trailing up the stairs. Made our own way to the restaurant level, not one other dinner, and only staff member, was the bar man. We were told that they had an issue, as the chef hadn't come into work, as he was sorting out a problem, and he wasn't sure how long this would take. We were told to take a seat in the bar area, but we decided to go elsewhere. I find it hard to believe that they only have one chef running the kitchen, and that the only other member of staff, was the bar man! Something doesn't seem right here, disappointing and very unprofessional. We weren't given an apology or any incentive, to want to return. I wouldn't waste my time here again, and wouldn't recommend.
We waited 30 minutes for our drinks then waited another 1 hour but still no one took our food orders despite the restaurant having only 10 customers. We walked out after paying for our drinks. They only had 1 out of 3 beers advertised also.
Worst experience ever and will never come back again
A great meal with different kind of menu, the food was beautiful and the staff were really friendly and helpful and it was very good valve for money.
Unfortunately we did not actually eat here. We arrived about 5 minutes before our booked time. We spent about a while stood near the entrance of the restaurant waiting for someone to show us to a table- unfortunately although there were loads of staff walking about no one bothered to greet us or show us to a table. This to me is a sign of poor service so we ended up leaving.
Very slow painful service and extremely average food.
I felt the portions were small. Nothing special.
