Wonderful food and very attentive, efficient service. Possibly the best biryani I've ever tasted! Will definitely be back soon.
Delicious and unusual Indian food. Nice ambiance
we wanted to try out a variety of "street food", as we are fairly familiar with curries etc, the staff were very quick to understand what we required, and after we selected 2-3 dishes that we wanted to try, we asked for help to choose the next three, to get a good balance of spices and other ingredients. The result was a very good cross section of what was available, only one dish disappointed, as it came in a different form to that we expected, but we will know for next time ! Overall we had the experience that we wanted, and we will return in the future!
Lovely ambience- great customer service and food was excellent so much to choose from.
The menu was full of dishes I’d never seen before and there were many I wanted to try.
I started with the Punjabi Samosa Chat with Lamb, which were absolutely delicious. For the main course I went for the Burns Road Lamb Shank Nahiri which was superb, fall of the bone lamb in a rich yet subtly flavoured sauce, this was accompanied by plain rice and the Dal Fry Burt Garlic, which is possibly the tastiest Dal I’ve ever had.
I thoroughly recommend this place and will be back frequently to work my way through the menu!
Absolutely terrific - the tandoori salmon superb. Bravo
The food here is great, really good menu and the street food element makes it more modern and interesting then your usual local curry house. Decor is pretty and its a nice setting.
The staff could do with being a bit more attentive to really make this a nicer experience. they didnt know how to answer questions about the menu, or which dishes were vegan/vege. We made a polite suggestion they highlight the vegan food more clearly on the menu and they didnt respond well to it. Other diners had to get up to ask for drinks, and the restaurant only had about 4 tables with customers so it wasnt busy. If they polish up the customer service and highlight the vegan options better (as they really did have great dishes for vegans) it could be so much better.
Delicious food. Lovely staff.
Great food! Thank you for lovely vegan briyani . Will visit again.
Really fantastic food. Staff attentive and helpful. It's great to have an independent restaurant in Highgate.
Food disappointing Our main courses were served up plated on cold plates.
Good food in good atmosphere. Quite expensive and quite noisy
First time at Namaaste and it didn’t disappoint. Food and service was fantastic. Will definitely return!
The food is fine. Nothing special. Small tables to cram us in that didn’t even fit one main in the middle so our plates were hanging off the table. Expensive for what it is. Also found out that the owner doesn’t give tips or service charge to his hard working waiting staff. When asked he said he did but it’s not true. I understand that rent is high in Highgate but that is reflected in the high price of food and shouldn’t be paid by the waiting staff! I will boycott this restaurant in solidarity with the staff who were super nice and working so hard.
Ok food and a nice setting, it’s a shame that the manager completely tainted the experience, leaving a sour taste in our mouths. He was incredibly rude, rushing us to order several times after being seated for only 10 minutes and then again when the bill arrived. The whole evening became pretty uncomfortable for all of us, especially being watched like a hawk whilst eating and drinking. All we wanted to do was leave. If you’re looking for a relaxing dinner and time to catch up with friends, I’d urge you to look elsewhere.
Absolutely delicious after a nice stroll around the heath. Will definitely be coming back, great service and food.
Lovely restaurant .
Very helpful staff
This is definitely an above average Indian restaurant , the food is tasty and original and looks good. The restaurant has tasteful decor and and a friendly ambience. Expect to pay more than your local Indian bit its worth it
One of the best Indian restaurants ever . The dishes are outstanding. As are the Indian inspired cocktails. This is my 2nd visit and I was not disappointed . The dishes are freshly prepared and this time we decided to try as many fish dishes, the prawns were huge and succulent, the scallops cooked to perfection and the fish Moli was to die for.
The staff were attentive and happy to offer recommendations when asked.
My only criticism that the phone kept ringing for takeaway orders which spoilt the ambience a little. Otherwise 5 stars from me.
First time in the restaurant (had a fabulous delivery in lockdown). Food was good & service fine but the cleanliness of the restaurant could be better. Bathroom walls / skirting boards look like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Bit off putting. Other than that we had a good meal.
Will go back again and recommended
Great ambience and food is amazing. Would highly recommend.
Stunning food, great service and value
We shared a selection of the small plates. Delicious, fresh spices and aromatics; much lighter food than the average 'curry house'. Lots of interesting flavours and textures
The food was very good, my only criticism is the choice of vegetarian food was limited, however what we did order was good
Excellent experience and very accommodating when moving to a bigger table.
The food was good quality and tasty , would go there again and recommend it
Incredible street food, smaller plates best for sharing. The “chicken lollipops” in particular are delicious for starters, and butter chicken and lamb chops are amazing for mains.
Tasty food, great service, extensive menu and great value!
A really lovely place with excellent food and friendly staff.
Some lovely dishes, some not quite so. Nice service and atmosphere.
Really nice setting with good service and nice food. Recommend
Always nice to support a local, as we have. However last nights service was not very well managed. A table next to us was served before us and they seemed to be very attentive. We waited 1hr for the main course.
Wow was pleasantly surprised that Indian street food can be both fancy and romantic. Would comeback again!
Very impressed with the food taste and quality. Comfortable seats and good atmosphere. Great recommendation by the lovely waitress, the black Dahl! I will definitely go again.
Amazing food. Easily the best Indian food in north London. Lovely setting and decor too. Friendly staff.
We had been recommended to come here and very pleased we did. Food was fantastic and service was very good. Best Indian food I have had in a very long time. Highly recommend.
We recently went to this gem of a restaurant tucked in Highgate. The location was good and there was plenty of parking available in the evening. The ambience was great and the decor reflected parts of India beautifully. The service and food were both exemplary. The waiters went the extra mile to accommodate all our requirements. We definitely will be back to try their interesting daytime menu.
Fantastic food, lots of choice and different angle with the street food. We loved it and the service was very friendly and efficient. Strongly recommend
Dear Kirsty Thank you ver much for your nice review. We are delighted you liked our food and our Indian Street Food Menu. We look forward to see you soon Best wishes Namaaste Team
Really good food with some unusual dishes. Service very friendly and efficient. Great location.
Dear Biv Thank you very much for your review. We have worked really hard to create our menu, it has some of the best Indian Street Food and speciality curries. We look forward to see you soon. Best wishes NAMAASTE Team
