This is the second time I have visited the Nant Ddu within a week. The first visit was for Sunday lunch which was only Luke warm when it was served and the dessert I chose ( honey cheesecake) was tasteless. On the second occasion we waited 25 minutes for someone to come to ask us what we wanted to drink, finally we went up and asked where we were told sorry they had forgotten about us. The main meal was fine but yet again the dessert was poor ( earl grey parfait) I recommend you don’t order it. My friend ordered a summer fruit pudding only to find there was no fruit in it at all, the price of that dessert was knocked off the bill.

Limited menu, very expensive for average quality food, won’t be going back anytime soon. The whole place is looking very tired, in desperate need of a complete refurbishment

I ordered for my starter a recommendation from the waitress. It was the duck spring roll. When it come there was only 1 and it was stone cold. Definitely not worth £10.Then I ordered for my main the belly pork and my partner ordered the shoulder of lamb.It wasn’t the nicest tbh and definitely not worth what the price is. The best thing about my partners was the lamb jus.

Someone needs to find some pleasant light classical or jazz music to play in the restaurant, as it's otherwise totally lacking atmosphere. [In the bar, where food is also served, for some reason there is commercial radio on, so guests often have to listen to ads blaring out.] Duck spring rolls were fine, though quite dry, as was the lamb rump. The Stilton chicken, however, was inspired - really packed with flavour. Cheese & biscuits was a rather large portion, so we were thankful we shared it. Staff are lovely; they're a real asset to the place, which is otherwise a bit gloomy.

Staff were really helpful and courteous. Food looked and tasted delicious. Great choices too. Would definitely recommend. We had soup, chicken parfait, baked cod, belly pork, sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream and lime cheesecake with lemon sorbet- delicious!!
