Starters and main courses were fantastic.
Second visit here, and the food was just as tasty as we remembered! We did not have desserts as on our previous visit we were slightly disappointed with them, however I'd still highly recommend dining here. Service was timely and at a nice level of attentiveness without being overbearing.
We have become instant fans of this very understated but brilliant place to eat. We went to the opera afterwards but we both feel that our delicious meal at Navadhanya was the real highlight of the evening - no exaggeration. Go; you will not be disappointed.
Good service and excellent food.
The best authentic Indian meal I have had outside India. Great vibe, interesting menu, beautifully presented by informed respectful staff. A joy, we will be back!!
Very pleasant restaurant, attentive staff, fantastic food but subtle. This is not your average Indian. The menu does not contain your typical Indian dishes although there are a couple you will recognise. This food is more authentic and generally lighter. Great value and would highly recommend.
The best Indian restaurant in Scotland we have tried. Fantastic flavours and decent sized portions. Menu is short but has an option for everyone’s taste. Only downside is that we dined on a Saturday night and it didn’t have the buzz and ambience one would expect on a Saturday night in a restaurant with great food.
Came for Lunch on Saturday was not busy but food as usual was excellent. Have not been for lunch before always been in the evening. Fabulous value and service and quality of food excellent.
Authentic, good quality, well presented, tasty food with flexibility for a non meat eater in the tasting menu. Good value for money, friendly attentive staff in a modern setting. All in, a pleasant dining experience & will be back.
A wednesday lunchtime visit , so it was very quiet + very COLD !!
However the food here is fantastic, the closest to MITTHAS since it closed
Look forward to going back some night soon
Excellent food and service. Background music was a bit suss and seems more focused on couples for dinner amd not a lads curry house, that said was a very enjoyable dinner.
Great food and good service! Friendly owner and nice setting. Will visit again!
Food was very average. I m a vegetarian and their veg food was strictly ok
Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic! The restaurant went out of their way to make the evening special for all guests with holiday music, crackers for everyone, and a special menu in addition to their regular menu. Very professional and attentive staff. The food was as good as it could have been. Thank you!
Delicious. My tummy's full though.
Very good food - best paneer I've had! Attentive staff and great menu. Nice for a special occasion.
What a great find. The menu isn't very extensive but everything we ordered tasted delicious. Didn't need it to be any longer! I'm already planning my next visit :-)
Outstanding tasting meal. Service was friendly, staff work in concert so all tables get very good service. Would like to be able to return some day.
We enjoyed a lovely relaxing meal at Navadhanya last night. The food was delicious and we particularly enjoyed our mains Lamb Kolhapuri and Lamb Malabar followed by the chefs selection of puddings which we shared. We were very full after our mai a bit couldn’t resist trying the puddings out. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
Enjoyed the tasting menu, but did feel it was a bit overpriced and s bit too fussy for us.
I would love to see a bit more of a traditional curry dining experience available.
This restaurant was lovely. The decor, the ambience, the food. Very good quality meals whcihc everyone was happy with.
Would definitely recommend to others.
Booking is essential as it's not a very big place. However, it's well worth it, the food, although a very limited menu, is fantastic. I have already recommended the place to two close friends who visit Edinburgh as a place to go eat. You won't be disappointed.
Had another wonderful evening at Navadhanya great service and food
Will definitely return much better atmosphere than last location
Very enjoyable tasting menu. Nice combinations of tastes and textures.
Fantastic indian food with a very modern and healthy approach
Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Not your usual Indian Restaurant, the menu is subtle and delightful.
Everything excellent. Highly recommend the saag aloo!
Very efficient and friendly service, excellent quality of food and menu is a little bit more interesting than the usual Indian restaurant. Atmosphere is a little too sedate in my opinion....also if describing vegetables as "exotic" would expect non common ones not usual British boring ones. But these are minor points in an otherwise slick and tasty venue I've been to many times.
Great food, lots of choice. The lamb in particular was excellent
It was two years since we had been at Navadhanya (during our last visit to Edinburgh) and our first visit to the new location.
We had tried to book for 8 pm but could only book at either 6 pm (too early) or for 9:15 pm in the Open Table system. We got there about 9 pm and were told that was good because the kitchen closed at 9.30! The restaurant was fairly empty so I didn’t understand that I couldn’t have a table at 8 pm. We were then seated in a corner behind the door - maybe so that they could start cleaning when every else had gone.
As we were the last to arrive, the food came very quickly - mains virtually straight after we finished starter. When we had finished our mains, we still had half a bottle of wine left, which is unusual for us!
The waiters did start cleaning while we were still there but not near us. However it was obvious they wanted to close.
The food was still as good as we remembered, but the atmosphere wasn’t as nice as before - mainly for the reasons above.
I still don’t understand why I couldn’t have a table at 8 pm?? If they have had bad experience with bookings and no shows at peak hours, then they should take a credit card with the booking.
Sitting in an empty restaurant at 9.30 during the festival is not such fun and also highly unusual- especially with the Navadhanya reviews on Tripadvisor and Open Table.
Best Indian Food I ever had. Will surely come back asap
Best Indian fushun restaurant in Edinburgh
If you are visiting Edinburgh I can recommend Navadhanya any time
Outstanding food and service. Would highly recommend this place.
Beautiful restaurant, not like your usual Indian. Food was delicious and service reasonably quick. Kept having to ask for water, would of been better if it could of been left on the table. Would highly recommend, very central
What a lovely restaurant; food superb, service first class. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely evening there. Both my wife and I had the tasting menu with the matched wines - excellent! Food great, service great and very attentive, never felt rushed. Have already been recommending to work colleagues.
Moderne et les employées très sympathiques.
Très bon au niveau qualité
Excellent India food, not very spicy hot but just the right level of flavors to blend with the taste of meats and vegetables - highly recommended. Ensure to make a reservation as they are usually busy on all days.
Lovely little restaurant! Food well presented and delicious.
One of the best restaurants if not the best in Edinburgh. Food and service is outstanding!
