it was mine and my friends first time in Manchester on a night out and we had heard about neighbourhood from friends some good and some bad reviews but we’d thought we’d book a table for 8 on the bank holiday just gone to see how it was, we were 10 minutes late because of a taxi driver not knowing where he was going, I kept trying to ring to let them know but nobody answered the phone after 5 times of ringing them. We got there and the girl on the door was really friendly and was able to seat us even tho we were late, we then got our drinks and sat at our table then after 10 minutes of being there we got asked to move by I assume the manager and he was quite rude and just explained that another group was coming, I told him I had booked this table but he just ignored what I said, I told him we kept ringing to let them know we would be late but he said they can’t answer the phone because the music is too loud? Stupid excuse, we ended up leaving because there was no vibe at all, just really disappointed because it looked like such a nice place but really wasn’t
Very disappointed that we and my husband who are in our late 30’s had a table booked but was refused entry for having no identification with us!
The service was terrible! It took someone 45 minutes to come and take our food and drink order/offer us a drink. Whenever we asked someone for another drink, it took us asking 3/4 different members of staff and about ab20 minute wait until we got a drink. Very disappointing.
We had a few drinks at the bar first and spent 30 minutes chatting to the Bar manager called Simon and a few of his bar staff, all really nice and we even got a complentary shot carousel with a sparkler on as it was my husbands birthday. Food was really nice as always, glad they are back open after being shut for 28days earlier this year.
Wow, treated like princesses and not one minute went by where we were not being looked after by either the excellent waitress or the manager. Absolutely loved every second. Recommend a million times over! Bravo!
Went to bottomless brunch on a Saturday and was fab ! Would 100% recommend. Will definitely be back .
Once the staff attended to us, they was very friendly and polite, quick service after ordered just took a while to ask us for our drinks order and food order. Food was fantastic, flavoursome steak 👌🏽. Would 💯 return
Neighbourhood was not open on Sunday. I phoned and emailed them and got no response. There was no sign on door as to why they were closed. Was really disappointed as it as my birthday and came down from Aberdeen for Easter weekend
First of all the door men spoke to my boyfriend so rudely. Me and my partner ordered the fillet steak 12onz to share, in which we received a portion for enough for 1 person no way was that for 2 people. We was not happy as we’ve had several steaks in several places and had more than that each. I can’t describe to you how small it was I thought the lady had me confused and assumed I’d ordered 1 fillet to share for 2 people but I didn’t and she said that was the sharing for 2. It was double the price of 1 fillet steak? Which we wish we got because we would of got at least 1 each of everything and probably more . They gave you the tiniest portion of chips and sauce enough for person, for double the price I thought this was absolutely ridiculous. I will never be going here again I was disappointed I felt none of the staff understand what I was saying because it seemed like they were more interested in people that was drinking around us.
17th March 2018 . The table was booked for 5pm for four people. When my daughter & I entered the restaurant the female on reception took my booking name & confirmed the booking. A waitress picked up some menus no eye contact was made with us , neither the waitress or the receptionist said anything to us as ‘ please follow me to your table’ we stood waiting to be shown, the waitress arrived at the table and looked over the restaurant to say why haven’t you followed me!! We had to ask the waiter for the drinks menu. We ordered water with the meal but it never came so had to ask again. The food was served hot and was tasty but a bit pricey. The music is too loud for my personal liking because we could hardly hear one another talking. Cocktails were very good.
We had to return the food because it was cold and also had to keep asking the waiter for drinks as we booked a bottomless brunch trying to get a waiter was hard work
Well worth the money. From the moment we sat down our glasses were never empty. The food was delicious. The cocktails were gin based and so tasty. Would highly recommend!
It was out first time eating at Neighbourhood & we were both very excited. We went with the sharing steak which the waiter recommended (although he basically described the words on the menu when we asked for his suggestion) It was tiny which we knew it wouldnt be huge but there was a tiny pot of chips & the smallest pot of sauce. Yes it was tasty but no way near enough to share! We finished our food within 5 minutes & were left very hungry! Prior to the meal I asked for a pineapple daiquiri instead of strawberry but were told this wasn’t possible so stayed with a standard mojito instead. We also received a 20% off token which we were given from Neighbourhood Leeds a few weeks before to use in any neighbourhood restaurant when quoting the code online - when we received the receipt there was no 20% off so I mentioned it to the manager & she was very put off for us asking (even after I showed the code on my email confirmation) and said she had no idea the offer was on but would offer it on this occasion. Overall I was disappointed with the meal & felt it was extremely overpriced for what it was!
Great night, great food, amazing service.
Definitely be returning
The ambience was great and the staff couldn't do enough to make my Mother's day a really special occasion with my daughter. Thank you Neighbourhood. We will be back.
We booked a meal for 5. My meal came out and half of my fellow dinners meal. We then had to wait over 10 minutes for the rest of the food. I ate my food whilst the others watched. After chasing up the waiter I then had to watch them eat theirs. Asked for the wine menu and was given the champagne wine list - cheapest bottle £90!!! Had to ask if this was correct. Would not recommend
My friends and I went to Neighbourhood for my friends hen do. The lady that served us had a “Meh” badge on but unfortunately we didn’t catch her real name. She was absolutely phenomenal and by far the best service I’ve had in a very long time.
Thank you Neighbourhood for a fabulous bottomless brunch!
Had a brilliant time on Saturday. William our waiter was amazing and really looked after us. Will be booking brunch again soon!
I had been here when it originally opened and I’m glad to see the menu has changed since then. The food we had was lovely. My friend had salmon and I had the ribeye steak which was cooke perfectly (medium/rare). The waiter serving us was friendly and attentive. We had 50% off due to my friend working in hospitality which was a great bonus. My steak without a sauce or fries would’ve been £25 otherwise. The atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit lacklustre. It felt very ‘posy’ very empty and abit atmosphereless. It was a quieter Sunday it has to be said but I felt as though people were only there because it was Neighbourhood and not because it was a quality place to go - albeit the food was nice! All in all a nice place for a quick bit of food but wouldn’t rush back due to lack of atmosphere.
Overall amazing experience. Food was beautiful and reasonably priced. Decore and atmosphere is amazing. Perfect for dinner and drinks. Only negative was the bouncer refused to let me in without id when we had a reservation for food at 8:30. I didn’t bring any because I come for a meal at half 8 we had to get the manager involved and luckily he let us in. I recommend you take id even if your only going for food and you going early.
I have never been as disappointed before as i was with neighbourhood manchester. Firstly, the food was awful, they chargrilled my steak to within an inch of its life, i had to cut the majority of it away as it quite literally was charcoal. The service was terrible, constantly being forgotten about or having things that you ordered come back wrong. I booked at 7pm because it was the last time available for a ‘normal table’ and not a ‘high table’ i was seated on a high table - absolutely ridiculous i may as well have booked later and then felt less pressure to be moved after the 2 hours were up. There were fights breaking out and drama everywhere you looked completely spoiling the atmosphere for someone who wanted to enjoy a late valentines meal. The prices were ridiculous for such appalling service and food.
Disappointing meal which was booked on a recommendation from a friend on a weekend away in Manchester. Ordered a medium rare steak which came medium well done. I did mention it to the waiter when asked if food was ok and was offered another one but didn't bother as my wife's wasn't impressive either. Quality of the meat was poor for what was supposed to be a nice restaurant. Found the ambiance of the place to be more fancy cocktail bar that happens to do a bit of food on the side. Not remotely impressed on quality of food for the price and whole place was a bit footballers wives.
We were seated at the back of the restaurant after waiting 30 minutes to be seated. The food was very nice and catered well for gluten free. However, our server took 20 minutes to take our drinks order and I had written a private note on my booking that a guest was gluten free which he should have known about. As the meal continued I had to ask him 3 times to bring over a bottle of wine which became a drag. Appears the restaurant cares more about their club tables which make them the most money than the other diners in the restaurant. Have eaten before for lunch and service was good, would not return for dinner.
Really good service and food, went for my birthday with a couple of friends and would go back again.
Was really quiet but it was a Monday night.
An excellent venue for bottomless brunch. Served by William who was very attentive and offered very helpful suggestions with the food.
Neighbourhood's location, fancy vibe and expensive / stylish looking menu gave us high expectations.
Unfortunately, these were vastly disappointed. The menu seemes to take a 'posh' meal from a range of different cuisines (from steak to sushi) and do none of them well. The food was average at best and the 'steamed rice' with my salmon was disgusting and inedible - just a pile of very overcooked white mush that still somehow managed to also have a gritty texture.
I'm so glad we came during the 50% off January deal because I would have refused to pay the extortionate actual menu prices for the very average food we were served. Will not be coming back and am saddened that my positive first impressions of this place were misplaced.
It’s definitely a place to be seen, not to have an amazing meal. The food was mediocre at best. The risotto is BLAND. But the ambiance and staff are very nice.
We came to visit on the above date. We waited a while for our order to be taken but was not a problem as was busy. We then waited 50 mins in between starters and mains and were rudely told it was because we were waiting for the burger to cook (the other mains were sushi). The burger arrived and then was cold in the middle. We highlighted this to the manager and he offered to do a new one. At this point my friend found what can only be described as a grey public like hair in the chips. We told them to remove all of the food. Thomas apologised and offered us coctails as an apology. He went and got a menu that didn't actually have anything inside for us to order. The cocktail then arrived (after again another wait) with a massive chip out of the glass. Massive dissapoitment all round considering it is meant to be a prestigious establishment within Manchester!
Family of 3
1 starter was served burnt
1 main was served cold ( linguine )
Service was fine
Miserable lady on front of house
I went to Neighbourhood for Brunch as I had been previously on two occasions and the food and service was excellent and I scored all 5's. However, this time was completely different. the table was booked for 12.45 and we were all there and seated just after 12.30 but we didn't receive service until 13.10. We were told off a very curt waiter that we could only order prosecco by the glass which given the 10 minute wait in-between drinks didn't really make it 'all you can drink'. I asked why the bottle wasn't left as it had been on other occasions and was advised it was because there was only 5 of us and not 6. I highlighted that there was only 5 of us on the last visit but he didn't seem interested. 3 of us ordered eggs benedict which was lovely the last time but this time, the two eggs were squashed onto only half a muffin and the other half was, well, I am not sure where it was as we didn't get it!
we were then told prior to the end of the 90 minutes that we couldn't order any more drinks... at which point the manager stepped in, apologised and really went out of his way to redeem the visit providing us with additional drinks, an additional 30 mins and even some cocktails which really did make a difference! just wasn't the same experience as previous times so I am not sure whether they are trying to cut back?
Poor service. Had to ask for a refill everytime - food was cold and small portions
My girlfriend and I went during January when they had the 50% off deal. Honestly, the food was very mediocre. We heard good things from our friends and colleagues but on the day it just didn't meet our expectations. We ordered the soft shell crab sushi rolls, seared salmon rolls, Mac and cheese with lobster, The Neighbourhood burger and the aubergine starter plate. The sushi was good but not mind blowing. I would definitely not want to pay full price for the food. The music was also very loud, granted we ate at 9:15pm on a Friday night but surely that doesn't warrant the DJ to periodically increase and decrease the volume.
Rude front of house staff. Long periods without drinks.
Short staffed in the kitchen leading to long wait for food.
Music too loud.
Food was disappointing as sushi was dry. Tacos to share were minute. Very disappointing
Food was exquisite! And staff were kind even if we were a little bit forgotten towards the end of the evening.
This was booked for my 21st birthday meal. Me and my friend both orderded a chilli seafood linguine. When it came it was absolutely freezing, so we sent it back. When it returned it was fairly hot but the dish itself was bland and tasteless there was no flavour at all and it certainly was lacking chilli. To make matters worse my boyfriends chips had a piece of cotton string in them! God knows where that came from. Despite this we decided to have drinks in the bar. We was aware that a dj comes on at some point so we asked a member of the bar staff. He told us 7:30. At 9:30 we was still waiting for the dj to come on. Which is absolutely fine we understood the bar is open till late but the fact that we kept being told different times was so annoying and in the end we decided to leave. Overall it was really disappointing as neighbourhood has previously been one of my most favourite places to dine, and this just was not upto standards whatsoever. Such a shame when it is such a vibrant bar.
Overall very poor basically got hidden away in the far corner and forgot about for the whole period of time we were there basically. There was numerous complaints by other tables about the wait as one group of couples had waited over a hour just to be asked what they wanted for mains that they got up and nearly walked out and i could not find anyone to even ask for pepper or to tell them our food was cold. With a restuarant of such high standards to keep i thought service would have been a lot better it seemed to just be one older fella rushed off his feet with no help and this was a date that just couldnt have been any worse and we got charged for all the things we would never have ordered but the man lied and said we would get 50% off the whole bill which we never did i thought this was just terrible service and overally appalled by way we was treated.I would really like to be informed if there is anything you as a business can do to make up for this please as this was probabbly the worst service we have ever had in a resraurant !
We went to Neighbourhood to take advantage of the 50% off offer. It turns out that the restaurant is trying to recover costs during the offer by having a skeleton staff waiting on and working in the kitchen.
The service was absolute shocking with regards to timeliness, I felt so sorry for the guy who was serving us, you could tell that he was really over stretched and didn’t know if he was coming or going. It took 30mins just for us to get the dessert menu after asking.
The food was substandard, bland and inimagative. There were a lot of people sending things back and complaining around us. For a lunch that would have cost us £60 each, I would expect a lot more!!
If the idea of the 50% off deal is to entice people to come back again, they are definitely far off the mark!
