While the casual bar serves fresh aperitif style cocktails, the ever-evolving wine list focuses on a mix of low intervention and classic wines from quality local and international producers.
To compliment the stunning menu, Russell Sage Studio and Margaret Crow revived the existing Grade II-listed dining room by adding a graphic wooden floor, peach ceiling and a centrally located pewter-top bar, creating a space that is as elegant as it is inviting from morning through to late evening.
Amazing food and even more amazing service.
We took our friend as a treat for his 30th bday and the staff we're amazing, in particular our waitress. Very friendly and attentive also gave us the best recommendations for the menu.
I'll be back as soon as I can!
The food was delicious with sufficient choice (not over complicated). I particularly enjoyed the side dishes, which were generous so the table could share them.
Our waitress, in particular, was friendly and helpful. She made a fuss of us when she heard it was our friend's birthday, so it felt special. Thank you!
Very friendly and attentive service, great food. We loved the overall atmosphere. The prices are up there
Food only average with not much thought to presentation - service friendly but disorganised. At £150 for 2 people - one with 1 course and dessert the other with just one course and a bottle of average wine it a expensive and lacks the style and service of a 4/5 star hotel restaurant - wouldn't return.
Great food. Wonderful service.
It was a great place to host a business dinner. This was my second visit to Neptune. The ambience and service were excellent as always. The Burrata has been my absolute favourite here.
Beautiful restaurant. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable.
Made sure we were ok and nothing was too much of an ask. Definitely will go again.
We liked the size of table and its situation; often tables can be huge and it is difficult to hear people speak. The staff were attentive but not overly so - perfect combination. Everyone enjoyed the selection on the menu though the restaurant is called Neptune so we were expecting a wider range of fish, than just oysters, fish and chips and a trout. The food was tasty and different. My crab with semolina 'crisp' bread was very good, but sadly there was no Chef's specials to make it feel more fresh for the day and showing off the Chef's capabilities.
Some of our table were dry January, this kept the bill down so the meal was good value. Our one criticism were the ridiculously large and cumbersome menu sheets trying to be a Pizza Hut when it blantantly isn't. I feel the restaurant is aiming to be a mix of styles : a smart burger bar, specialist oyster bar, family restaurant or class dining with a sommelier. To some degree this worked, we felt at ease and comfortable but the wine list could have mirrored more the price of the menu with some alternative good but cheaper wines. Thank you
Lovely restaurant, loved the decor. Just thought the desserts were a bit strange and not up to same standard as the starters and mains.
It took an hour for 6 steaks
We were a little tucked away, but overall it was a lovely evening: food is good; ambiance and settings are lovely; staff are really friendly (although very busy). Would recommend.
Poor food quality - zero ambience
Thanks for your review! Don't forget, you can enjoy our fabulous oysters half price during our Oyster Happy Hour! Email info@Neptune.London to reserve a table. Meg, Neptune London

Unfortunately, we were SOOO underwhelmed with the meal and service for Christmas.
Way overpriced for what was provided!!!
Also, my daughter was sick after her meal.
We dined there for Christmas dinner. The food was horrible and the service even worse. $325 pounds for dinner and we were left to eat elsewhere.
Lovely space but not very atmospheric. Food was tasty but quite overpriced and the dessert was inedible as tasted like garlic, presumably left in the fridge with it.
The place is beautiful but that’s about it really.
Wonderfull evening in Neptune. Very attentive staff from the moment we arrive, very good service from Santi(somellier). Definitly will come back
A pleasant restaurant. Ambience, decor, staff all good. It was just a shame it was let down by the quality of the food.
Crab starter was served in a deep bowl, difficult to eat with a knife and fork and the meat too icy cold.
Cold meats served with no accompaniments.
Fish and chips, good apart from skinny chips (ok in McDonalds).
Squid ink tagliatelle, was ok. Steak was good.
Desert, Tart was too cold, pastry seemed uncooked, not pleasant.
Drinks were OK, The Cosmopolitan cocktail - was not a worthy of any reputable cocktail bar.
We had a reservation for 9pm on a Friday evening, were approached half way through our main course (sometime after 10pm) to decide on our dessert. From then onwards, all the positive feedback that I might have given was cancelled out by the rushed out attitude, with us being properly ushered out before 11:30pm. Horrendous when you're spending £130 per person for dinner. Shame, it spoiled what could have been a very pleasant evening. And perhaps as a suggestion to the satisfaction of your future customers, do not take 9pm bookings if you can't carry out the service fully.
Didn’t have wine we ordered only 1 quite a bit more expensive & didn’t offer price reduction, as it was rose there were only 3 options, choice poor in any event. Wanted to sit us at an unsuitable table said other was reserved although no sign on it. In the end we were moves. Ordered rib sharing dish - wasn’t on the menu that day & we weren’t told before trying to order. Had to share a T bone, was ok but bit sinewy - had much better & at those priced shouldn’t have been. Staff nice & nice decor but a bit well lit & open for my taste. All in all wasn’t too bad & convenient as we were staying at the hotel but could do better and wouldn’t rush back
Thanksgiving Dinner organised for my mother and colleague. The turkey dinners were cold and hard, the halibut fair. Entrees passable. Dessert pecan pies rock hard and almost inedible. Service throughout was good and accommodating-but could not make up for the poor eating experiences. However, the waiter handed the bill to my guest at the end-which is inexcusable-and marred the evening. The venue location, amenities & decor were very good and not shabby. But the food was a big let down, the wine list expensive for lower tier wines- so both these fundamentals need thorough rectification.
A very pleasant dining room with nice touches in decoration. However it was a Friday night and the place was quite quiet and at may points across the evening we were outnumbered by the waiting staff. The food was tasty but expensive. The wine selection was vast but many were quite pricey!. I think more for a very special night which is a shame as this could be a great 'go to' place for something bit better than normal.
Great food and service
Desserts: you may improve the choices and indicate the composition of it (for exemple haselnuts...)
Lunchtime was a little quiet
Hi MichaelD Many thanks for your great review! Be sure to come back to see us soon for dinner, drop an email to info@Neptune.London to book directly through me. Meg, Neptune London.
Very nice meal, we were the only customers and had a delicious meal, with excellent customer service
The food was very good
Was searching online to find a place for oysters - they were amazing and were having a special that made them 50% off. Nice restaurant in a beautiful recently refurbished hotel on Russell Square!
Organic sustainable menu. Service variable - brilliant sommelier but not tentative enough on taking orders re drinks, refilling of drinks , and was forced into ordering before 2:30 for lunch although we were able to stay until 4pm and ordered more oysters and champagne. Only 2 types of oyster and unique unknown champagne which they ran out of the bottle we were drinking without offering another at the same price and a large price difference between the two. Small plates both starter and main and a limited menu one chicken, one veg. One fish ( battered) and a burger. This was the lunch menu perhaps the dinner was more exciting
Great restaurant, but let down by the smokey atmosphere. I probably sat too close to the kitchen.
The restaurant is in a beautiful building. We were hoping for a bit of self indulgence but the food there wasn’t that exciting. The oysters were tiny and nothing special. The prawns were okay but not amazing. We had lovely wine the sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable. The service was otherwise very slow.
Lovely meal but the 12.5% service charge is a bit steep.
Lovely fresh food. Quite small portions but very friendly helpful staff and the sommelier was wonderful.
Very nice location and atmosphere. Good food with a wide range of choice. Great value and the service was very kind and caring.
All of the staff at Neptures were very attentive. I had the selection of oysters for starters and for the main course we had the 32 day aged prime rib, which was cooked perfectly.
The sommelier, was first class and with his experience with their selection of white wine, his recommendations were excellent. We also noted that he took the time not only to talk about the wines with us, but he also made efforts (As did all of the staff) to talk to their customers in turn.
Overall an excellent experience an we shall certainly return in the very near future.
Thank you to all of the staff at Neptunes.
Poor starter; poor presentation of burrata
Main course ; Monkfish portion was miniscule for £28 excluding any side dishes at £4 each
Wine very expensive and poor value for money. One doesn't mind spending £60 on a bottle of French burgundy but this tasted like a bottle for <£10
Dessert chocolate log average
Ambience was excellent
Not a place I would recommend to spend £90/head
Very pleasant dinner at Neptune. Staff absolutely charming.

Absolutely loved out first experience. My wife particularly enjoyed the chocolate dessert on the express menu. No request was too much. We will definitely return soon hopefully.
Unfortunately the chef who launched the restaurant is no longer there and they need someone in the kitchen to add some excitement to the menu. There were only 8 diners on a Saturday night so no atmosphere either, at one point we were the only people dining. Staff were efficient but then starting setting up the room for breakfast at 8pm which was bizarre. The hotel is a stunner and love the bar but thumbs down for the restaurant at the moment.
