It’s so good to find a restaurant that cares about the food they offer in such a genuine way , wonderful ingredients cooked deliciously.
The NYR is now very firmly a favourite we will return to often.

This is an excellent restaurant - superb food, lovely ambiance. Our third visit since lockdown one ended. Top class each time - and the 6.30 start plus set menu is a great concept. Highly recommended.

Nice roast, could do with a little more gravy! A few more roast potatoes wouldn't go a miss either! Soup was ok, again, a very small amount and tasted adequate. Very well presented, didn't receive my welcome drink, £5.50 for a can of beer seems a bit expensive. Overall ok.

So glad to finally get to have our Sunday lunch. Amazing beef, delicious.

Exceptional food, delightful staff, imaginative menu, lovely ambience. The roaring fires and views into the kitchen add to the dining experience. Cannot fault the New Yard. Every meal we have here exceeds our expectations. Congratulations to Jeffrey and the team - another knock out Sunday lunch.

Love this place

A very enjoyable experience. Located in outbuildings of a country estate, the restaurant was stylish with great ambiance. The “Prix Fixe” multi course menu was a surprise but, as it turned out, a very pleasant one. We appreciated that the chef took time out to explain that the fixed menu was due to COVID management and waste reduction. The courses were innovative and very tasty and the wine list interesting.

The food was excellent and very good value for money.

Great simple idea: all eat at same time and from the same menu (unless allergies in advance), means that food is exceptional, no waste, no faff.
Our children were very well accommodated for (thouse perhaps bring their meal out a course earlier?) Love the drink on arrival.
Tasty meal, fresh, local, interesting tastes and ingredients. Wonderful drinks list, love the idea of guest drinks.
Service kind, unhurried, friendly but respectful. Great to have an intro from the head chef too.
Would come again tomorrow if we could! Will be back.

Jeff the head chef made an inspiring and heartfelt speech at the beginning of dinner.
He put a positive spin on Covid and the changes it has bought to NYR and the team... they’re wasting less food, seeing their families more and loving creating new dishes

This is a review of a Sunday lunch. Vibrant atmosphere and enthusiastic young staff make this a pleasant place to visit. Services was good, though food service was a bit slow to get going. Food was slightly disappointing. Starter terrine was excellent. Beef good but Yorkshire sad and limp and cauliflower gratin unpleasantly rich. Rest of veg were fine. Desert was a take on isle flotant, and not a good one, chocolate sauce was unpleasant and the single meringue sweet and rubbery.
We would try again however; what they are trying to do makes sense in these strained times but gives you no choice. Need to publish menus further in advance to avoid booking and then cancelling.

Lovely lunch! Fab atmosphere, will definitely be back!

Dined on the Supper Club Menu - menu well put together, great flavours, good service, great atmosphere and they are dog friendly - what's not to like. Book it - you won't be disappointed.

Set menu was an interesting idea - luckily our party liked all the courses. The Chef’s address was not to my liking, I would rather a tableside chat.

A wonderful dining experience for a special occasion

We eaten here a few times and it’s always a wonderful experience. The food is excellent, most of it is from their garden, the rest is locally sourced. The combination of flavours and textures were stunning. It’s not just the food you go here for. The service is some of the best I’ve ever experienced and the ambience delightful. Thank you NYR team.

Absolutely fantastic experience at New Yard. No issues or oddities with regard to the COVID restrictions, having eaten out elsewhere it has felt a little staged or awkward (understandably) but New Yard's handling of it all was seemless. To add to that the service and food were both outstanding, simple ingredients turned into something special. Can't wait to return.

A really excellent meal. It’s a lovely restaurant - nice and warm too with a log fire on a cool early Autumn evening. The food was imaginative, varied and beautifully presented; the staff staff polished and attentive. Set menu of four courses plus - all very tasty. Definitely will return and soon.

I was disappointed in New Yard having read good reviews and staying conveniently close by,at Trelowarren . There was a fixed menu which is fine as I eat most things but the Menu for that night was very bland and not very varied or interesting eg curried monkfish; roasted cod; v bland marshmallow palate cleanser (!); then pretty ordinary buttermilk tart with a blob of apple purée and 2 brambles ( aka blackberries). Also the service was very slow - we seemed to have to wait for everyone else to finish each course, even though there were loads of waiting staff. It was also very cold and therefore not a welcoming ambience in the restaurant, as neither of the log fires was lit

If you looking for exceptional food in an unique setting then this hidden gem Should be top of your list.

This is a very special place, Geoff and Caroline have a wonderful friendly team that make every visit a delight. Your meal will vary with the season, be prepared to try and enjoy something new. Whatever is on the menu will have been prepared with care and attention to detail.
