Welcome to Nine B – an independent restaurant and bar set in the heart of Leicester!

You’ll be able to relax in our contemporary surroundings whilst enjoying fabulous food, creative cocktails and fine wines from around the world.
We work with range of local businesses integrating their products in our food and drink menus, including; Two birds Gin, Langton Brewery, St Martins Coffee and Brockleby Pies.

The modern bar serves creative cocktails with a wide range of spirits, popular wine and a fine cellar selection. Our food features classics with added casual, high-end dishes. Just don't forget to indulge in our delicious desserts too!

We are situated in the same building as the newly opened Novotel Hotel offering local office workers, shoppers and residents with a stylish city centre space to eat, drink and socialise.

    Booked a table to eat here for the first time on sat 30th July , didn’t know what to expect but the 3girls working the bar and dining area were so helpful and polite they are a credit to the restaurant, the food was delicious and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. Will definitely be returning for lunch again soon

    The food was delicious, Katie was amazing and very attentive, she kept us updated about our food and made sure we had everything we needed. She really went over and above for us. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

    Katie and Jordan were helpful in accommodating a delayed booking and with directions on our attempt to locate Nine B. The service was incredible, the place was as clean as I would have wanted and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend Nine B and will definitely visit again.

    The restaurant is nicely decorated and we enjoyed the circular booths. The service was good throughout. The food was variable: all components of the sea bass dish were excellent, the corn fed chicken was tasty but only small piece of meat. My son said the burger was one of the best he has had, but the chips were underdone and soggy. If they fix this inconsistency this restaurant could be very good.

    Fathers Day, food was good, service a touch questionable, just because e they forgot the main starter. Ambience, it’s was a very quiet night apart from the group of late teen/early twenty girls that quite frankly just posed for selfies the whole bloody time they were there, which we found a bit odd for a higher end restaurant, but hey, that’s the world we live in it seems and not the restaurant’s fault.

    Booked for Fathers' Day with their set menu. Table ready for our arrival time - in fact seemed very quiet with few tables occupied. Drink and food order taken promptly. However, turns out that the waiter did not understand the menu, so when I ordered what I thought was one dessert (mango sorbet) it was actually part of another dish (chocolate tart, mango sorbet). This was not pointed out to me so I had no idea that I had ordered an off-menu item. The items were listed with a comma between, so it was not obvious it was one dish. This only came to light when the bill came and I saw the dessert being charged for separately. The first waiter I questioned it with replied dismissively with "Oh it's just a bit that's added on." What does that mean? When a waitress explained what had explained, her response was "I only started at 2:30pm." Not really sure what that had to do with anything as that was our arrival time! Finally, it was sorted and we paid, but it was such a faff. I spoke to the manageress on the way out who was not at all interested in taking constructive feedback, namely, make the menu clear by putting "with" instead of a comma or at least train their staff to point out what the menu means and how to respond to customer queries. She walked off in a huff. Not bothered in the slightest. The food itself was ok. The Yorkshire puddings had obviously been cooked some time ago and had been standing on a hotplate as they were like rubber. Everything else was nice. I did receive an email from Open Table saying that we had been marked as no-shows by the restaurant. I suspect they were trying to prevent me writing this review. In fact, it was that action that spurred me on to do just that. It was meant to be a special meal for Fathers' Day, but it was ruined by very poor customer service and below par staff under a manageress who did not put the customer first. We won't be going back.

However, we do apologise that it wasn't explained to you by our team. I can assure you that myself and the team here at Nine B always put our customers first and pride ourselves on customer service, but we also do not appreciate being shouted at nor having fingers pointed in our faces.     Food and service was lovely. However you could tell the restaurant was located within a hotel. People doing work on the tables and breakfast cupboard wide open for all to see.Other than that it was great

    Ordered a steak medium rare and came out well done. Feed the back to the lady and she incorrectly inputted the ordered, which is fair enough but continue to blame we are very busy. That is hard to believe when the restaurant was quite. Regardless whether you are busy or not is irrelevant when a customer has ordered their food. Was quite expensive compared to other nice restaurants we go too.

    Booked this restaurant for Mothers Day, you could only order from the Mother’s Day set menu and the not the normal menu I did call several times and was told no you can’t order from the normal menu even if you pre book what you want to eat. Three of the members of the table ordered the chicken roast which they said was good but all 3 we’re disappointed that’s the Yorkshire puddings we’re rock solid and enjoyable. The cocktails were delicious and really nice deserts. I was also unhappy my table was cancelled 2 days prior to me arriving as a deposit wasn’t made, I was unaware of this and I even called up 3 days prior to my booking to confirm it was still booked and it was confirmed yes at no point did the lady on the phone ask me for a deposit. Also it was a 3 course set menu but unfortunately they forgot to add the deserts on the bill, unsure how this happened when everything was ordered together and as we were leaving we were asked to pay the remainder of the bill, very embarrassing. Although there were a few hiccups I would return to try the normal menu.

    The place was nice, but the food was not. I ordered a halloumi salad, that was a bunch of rocket leaves with four pieces of halloumi and very little dressing. Definetely I can do it much better at home.

This is cubed pieces of halloumi (would roughly say 10-12 pieces) with a full salad which does have rocket leaves mixed within. All made by a fully trained kitchen brigade.     Really nice restaurant, lovely food..a hidden gem. Although we left with a bitter taste as we experienced an issue of poor customer service. Our waitress dropped a glass of wine behind one of our guests . There was broken glass near our table, on our guests coat and top. Wine even went into his underpants ! Chair was very wet. We recognised this was a mistake however how they dealt with it could have been better. We had to ask for the chair to be replaced and we would have thought they would at least compensate a reduction on the bill or free drinks but there was nothing. The lady who we spoke to was rather unpleasant in her attitude. Such a shame as a simple gesture of some sort of compensation would have gone a long way. Now it has left a bitter taste.

My assistant manager has told me that a complementary drink was offered which you declined so as a gesture a drink was taken off of your bill.     We spent the whole evening waiting… waited an hour for drinks, quite a bit for food, another wait for complementary drinks. Too long waiting for the bill, so we asked for it, only to have to wait for someone to come over so we could pay, they never did.

    We were in the restaurant for 3 hours after waiting around an hour for our mains and then an hour for desserts too!

    Nice restaurant. Decor is lovely, service from Angel was impeccable. Very quiet and chilled atmosphere not sure if that’s because we visited on a weekday. Overall I will both recommend and return.

    Drinks were nice however the the ambience was lacking. No music, hardly felt like a bar. So quiet you can hear the conversation of other guests. The food was very average and my vegetarian friend was served a meat dish. She was very upset about the incident. Overall, it is a nice place and staff were polite however I’m not sure id be back as there was no music and the food was average. Disappointing

I have investigated what happened with your meal and my team said there was no complaints on check back nor at the end of the meal when my Assistant Manager took payment? I believe your friend had the beyond burger which is vegan. I can only apologise about the music, are system has blown and this close to Christmas we have struggled to get someone out to repair. I apologise again for the experience you had and hope you can visit us again soon.

    The staff looked a deer caught in full beam headlights! They didn't know if they were coming, going or been gone. Case of dumb leading the dumber! Food was blah......olives were the best thing served to us. Won't be going back in a hurry. Big shame as the place looked nice but the ambience was crap!

Upon a checkback there was nothing mentioned to my team other than the issue with garlic? If we had been made aware of your complaints we would have of course dealt with this in the correct way, I apologise you found our food to be “blah”. Our restaurant was full, Christmas songs were playing, all tables were full of cheer. Also, it was noted you thanked a specific team member for their time and patience.

    Food is fine though not extraordinary. But compared with other offerings in Leicester, it is fine. The ambiance is a bit off. Lighting far too bright and not exactly a full restaurant on a Saturday night, though there was a table full of cackling drunk women that provided some noise (and then some). Service a bit abrupt.

    We were sat right in the corner next to some really noisy kids for our Saturday evening meal. (8pm). We walked past a number a of nice tables too. The bill was wrong and we were over charged however this was sorted by the staff. Didn’t have a wine in stock that was asked for.

Regarding to where you were sat, you did ask my supervisor to sit on that table, which was close to our private area that had a table of 12 in from 6pm. Unfortunately one of dishes had loaded incorrectly on the system, but as mentioned, we did correct this for you. Stock is an issue around the country at the moment so getting everything we have on our drinks menu is a challenging task, so I can only apologise we did not have the wine in stock.

    I recently had my birthday dinner here. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and had a peaceful and unhurried ambiance. I booked their private dinning area and I can say for a fact that the service we received was amazing. The staffs looked after me and my guests; the food was fantastic! Taste wise, presentation and even quantity as well. The waiters were all lovely. They made my birthday celebration a memorable one. Thanks a lot! I highly recommend this restaurant.

    I’ve been here a few times before and as always the service is very slow even though the restaurant won’t be full. This time the food wasn’t up to the usual standards. We’d come as a family for my partners birthday we just ended up leaving early. I ordered a aperol spritz which was so watered down.

    The greeting was poor, the starters were great but the steaks were undercooked and the response to the complaint from the kitchen was ‘yes they were a bit bigger than usual’. Just disappointing that no discount no real apology. Lacked atmosphere and finesse
