The best place to eat in Haverhill - in my opinion. I've been there for a quick bite for lunch and had dinner on a few occasions and also just had drinks in the bar area. All good experiences.
Really nice hotel with excellent rooms and lovely breakfast. The bar and eating area are great. The staff are really nice and know their stuff, and the menu choice is interesting and pretty good food, but not great. lovely selection of drinks and there is parking behind the place. The only negative is parking. If you are a hotel guest, the public car park charges a flat fee for all day parking, but it has to be renewed at midnight, or risk a £100 fine...not ideal. Maybe a deal could be made with the carpark owners for guests?
The place its self is very well presented, very clean , all the staff are friendly . Nice selection of drinks available along with the menu . The food was very good and came out in good time overall a very pleasant evening . If I had to pick a negative id say there wasnt enough food on my plate for the money you pay and desserts n drinks are just to over priced to make it a regular place to come back too
Late minute dinner meal spot on
Nit very happy with the cost , choice and way food was cooked
Dear sir /madam
I booked a table on the 5th of Feb for Valentine’s Day for my partner and my self as I have been to nine jars and wanted to take my partner for a Special meal . The day before on the 13th got a phone call to say it was gonna be a set menu which is understandable but leaving it a bit late to book somewhere else if wasn’t happy so went along and looked at the menu on line but only saw what I thought was a
Smaller version of the normal menu . When arriving and seeing the set menu I was very disappointed as found the choices a very acquired taste and not a alternative if you didn’t like Brie , salmon or duck going in to the main there was no choice as you either had to both have rare steak as it was for 2 to share or Both have fish or veg choice . I for one do not eat rare meat and my partner don’t eat fish so I went without as the rare meat was place on top of the wedges I could not eat them either I was asked if I wanted my steak recooked a bit more but didn’t really want them taking it away to eat it later when me partner had finished and at a extra £10 ahead for the steak I felt was very over priced for the quantity . However the pudding was lovely and I ate a portion of it as my whole meal .
Sorry for this complaint but my bill was £110 for 2 and I came away with out eating
And disappointed at what was surposed to be a special night

The food is delicious, the modern interior is funky and cosy and the whole place has such a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service.
Whether I visit in the morning for a hot drink and cake with family, lunch with friends or a night out with the girls, you cater for it all! We always have a great time and have made some very good memories.
It's okay to eat a whole pizza to yourself, and I certainly did! Looking forward to the next visit!
Nice lunch on a quiet day, food was good and service polite and friendly.
Good food, I like the menu but I think there could be more choices introduced.
Lovely lunch out with the family, lovely atmosphere and great food 👌🏻
Really like nine jars , the only constructed criticism I can give is you don’t come round quick enough to take a drinks order after we have been seated, to quick to ask for our food order without taking a drinks order .
Had traditional roast beef with family group for special occasion. Food very good, staff great, seating comfy. WorriedBout loud music as we were near to speaker but this was managed well when we mentioned it to staff.
Was not disappointed on return visit. This time with work colleagues who had not been to Bistro before. All very impressed. I pre ordered our food as we were on a time limit. It arrived on time. Great service.
My experience at Nine Jars has been good in the past so would still reccommend them as this was only one visit, however on this occassion the service was poor and extremely slow, in an hour and a half we had 1 course and had to leave, even after asking for the dessert and coffee menu we were brought just the drinks menu and then left to sit for half an hour with no service before giving up, paying the bill and leaving.
Having booked our table for 6.15 we got stuck in traffic and had to amend to 7.00 which was no problem to Nine Jars. However, as we were going to a show at the Arts Centre which started at 8.00 it meant that we were pushed for time.
We mentioned this to the staff and they pulled all the stops out to serve us as quickly as possible and we managed to get to the show on time. Full marks to the chef and waitress for the excellent service, food and wine. We would not hesitate to book again.
Went to celebrate Halloween Night, Day of the Dead Feast. Thoroughly enjoyable. Fanstastic food and drinks. Love the cocktails
Service and food was really good & excellent value for money. Staff really friendly and helpful.
Only drawback was a number of items run out, but we went late lunch and it was very busy so understandable. Staff accommodated us with equivalent options.
Would absolutely recommend and will be back again soon.
Friendly staff good food great ambience , love the coffee lounge had roast beef which was lovely and tender
It was a nice surprise after wandering round an outdated town that had no inspiring places to visit so we were happy when we walked in early and got a nice reception from the friendly staff. The food was great and the service exceptional.
This was our first visit to Nine Jars. The staff were friendly on arrival and we were shown to our table straight away. First impressions were good. However after taking our order in reasonable time we were then informed 40 minutes later that one of our starter choices was unavailable. A different choice was made and we then waited another 40 minutes before the food arrived. The quality of the starters was ok. There was then a further 30-40 minutes before our main courses were received and these were both disappointing. The crab ravioli was in a thin watery sauce, was bland in taste and lacked seasoning. The lamb kebabs resembled something you would buy in Iceland and were served with cold pittas and barely warm rice. We didn't have a pudding as having already been there for over two and a half hours it was time to collect children. All in all a disappointing experience which we will not be repeating.
My visit to Nine Jars was lovely . I went with a friend. The food was tasty the wine was good quality and the host and waitress where so helpful and smiled throughout the night. *5
Lovely meal but under staffed then the fire alarm went off for ages and they didn’t apologise
Service was shockingly bad
Sirloin steak dish was a bit basic. Malasian chicken dish very tasty.... Wine reasonably priced. Defo needs the new menu asap.
As always we enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Nine Jars. The table staff give a warm welcome & are very attentive. Wether we choose to go for a quiet drink in the lounge or for a meal in the restaurant we always feel very comfortable & relaxed. Food is good, we haven't been disappointed with anything. A little gem.
Sadly two of the meals were not available. The staff are young and appear more focused on their own social interaction than that of the paying customer. Very disappointing
It was an impromptu visit. The menu was very good . Highly recommend the fillet steak. The service was brilliant. The wine list had a good range.
Delicious food as always 😊Lovely ambience smiley attentive staff.
Brilliant live music event with great fresh good and fantastic ambience
Great experience at Nine Jars. A little gem hidden in the town of Haverhill. Really enjoyed the selection, the service, and the food and gin!
The food was very over priced for extremely simple food. No flavour in any of the tapas dishes, one tiny mushroom bit in the arranchini, duck bruchetta was awful and the sharing meat platter was just one type of brought slice pre packed salami from the supermarket. Coffee was luke warm and even the key lime pudding was very gelatinous and bland - it was topped with cream and served with cream!.
Would not recommend might as well purchase from the supermarket.
Lovely food, nice ambience and friendly staff. A lovely addition to the choice of restaurants in our market town.
The food was excellent and the refurbishment of this closed pub has injected a shot of vibrancy and the opportunity to enjoy at an independent eatery within town.
I feel that 9jars has the balance right from locally sourced breakfasts, morning coffee, lovely seating area both inside and the el'fresco seating area to happy hour (cocktails 241) into a classy evening dinner experience. I would like to congratulate the management of 9jars.
Great night. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Something different for Haverhill. That's why we chose it
Another great experience at Nine Jars! Lovely Father's Day breakfast; good service and yummy food. Whether a family breakfast, dinner for two or cocktails with friends, Nine Jars has quickly become our go-to restaurant!
Lovely evening, good food, fantastic service and made even better that we could sit outside and enjoy the evening sun
A much needed gem in the heart of Haverhill, the view towards the church is lovely, the decor is superb and cosy and the food and service really were top notch. I will surely be recommending!
Service a little slow but on the whole really nice
Great easy dining with an easy menu delicious specials, certainly filled the gap
I took my visiting parents to The Nine Jars for lunch and although I had walked past many times, this was the first time I had eaten there.
I was really impressed as were my parents!
Inside is bigger than you imagine, clean, not cluttered and beautifully set out.
We all sat in a booth and even with the music playing you could easily hold a conversation. The customer service was excellent. The staff were attentive and polite with a good eye to detail, clearly nothing is too much trouble.
The food was delicious and presented well. However while I do appreciate that the food is locally sourced I feel that the prices are on the expensive side.
Really enjoyed the Sunday roast, good quality food at a good price.
