   We all very much enjoyed our lunch on Saturday. The service was charming and attentive as well as friendly, and the restaurant atmosphere equally pleasant. The food was excellent - well cooked, nicely seasoned and delicious. Thank you for a delightful visit. r

   Three of us enjoyed varied and excellent dinners. Our only concern was that it was a bit overpriced, in our opinion. However, we understand that restaurants are working hard to return to profitability, so this isn't really a complaint.

    I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, the service and quality of food was perfect my partner is dairy intolerant and they did everything possible to accommodate her and they exceeded more than we expected. I would recommend this restaurant over the IVY which we went to night before and it was so bad. Well done NO 1 Ship Street

    Pleasant surroundings, lighting, ambience and service good. Menu a little disappointing ( bit narrow) and unfortunately both my wife and I felt ill during and she was very ill later that night. Something in the food had upset set us both, May be an allergic reaction to crab or something ?? Shame as was a birthday treat :(

    Disappointing quality of the food in the evening for a relatively high price. We have been on other occasions for the set lunch menu and that has been excellent quality and price. Nice ambiance though.

    My first experience of No1 Ship Street and I will be going back. We were looked after exceptionally well by Ross and his team, the food was first class supported by an imaginative and varied menu and whilst not cheap, overall good value. The ambiance was the best in Oxford ideal for intimate dinners or small parties. The best restaurant in Oxford - by a margin.

    Fantastic experience. The food was delicious with some really interesting options. The venue struck a great balance between feeling up market but also welcoming and comfortable. Staff were all brilliant and couldn't have been more friendly. Well worth every penny.

    Food and drink ordered was excellent at a reasonable price for the quality. Only problem was we were sent upstairs, caught by surprise a bit, when my wife has mobilty problems long way down to the loos, would have been nice to have been asked.

    Lovely setting upstairs. A little on the quiet side but it was early Monday evening. Fantastic, patient and friendly waiter. good range of dishes on the menu and specials offered on the night. The food was fantastic. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Reasonable wine list. Slightly on the expensive side but worth it. Overall, a great night. Would definitely go back and will be bringing friends and family in the future

    7 of us ate here to celebrate my birthday. Evening got off to a great start with a complementary glass of fizz for all the guests and proceeded with great service (friendly and efficient), lovely food (and a bit unusual too) and a really cosy ambience. I now know why it's always been booked out every other time I have tried to get in - it's a bit of a hidden gem!

    Lovely staff, wonderful food and a nice ambience. Not rushed at all and staff attentive but not intrusive. Only marked down to a 4 on service as our pre-dinner drinks were overlooked and turned up after a nudge from us with our starter. Will definitely return and recommend

    Service was good the waiter was friendly. However, the wait between dishes we felt were way too long. The quality of the food was also just average. We had the crispy pork belly which was decent however we were extremely underwhelmed by the set menu fish & chips. The portions of the fish were small and overall felt similar to a takeaway fish n chips joint.
