No.15 Great Pulteney – Bar 15
Comfortable and elegant, Bar 15 makes a very beautiful, very modern statement in its classical Georgian surrounds and becomes the focus of No.15 after dark. A meeting place for Bath’s fashionable society, and locals and visitors alike, we’re serving up creative liquid libations alongside the carefully-crafted classics.
You’ll find everything from a perfectly-mixed G&T to local craft beers and fabulous fizz served in cut crystal flutes, whether your popping in post work, for a pre-dinner drink, or a leisurely aperitif.
Bar 15 is intriguing and unexpected in equal measure; it’s a place that’s very special and yet easy to become your own.
Afternoon Tea is served in the Bar and Cafe
This quintessentially English tradition has long been the preserve of Bath’s haute monde, and here at No.15 Great Pulteney, we’re elevating the tradition from the genteel to the curiously unexpected.
Came here as special treat and had a wonderful time.
For £30pp for afternoon tea I have to say I was disappointed with the selection of pastries and the service we received. The chocolate dessert was grainy. We ate the macaroons and the banoffee pie from the top tier but that was it. I am pregnant and found the tea selection limiting as there was only one option of decaf tea. The scones were nice. The service was slow and it was not a busy day. It was hot and on arrival we requested water it took asking again tens minutes later for the water to which the member of staff said, “Yes, I know!”. Could have been an off day but I certainly will not be coming back.
Fabulous place wonderful food really attentive staff. We had a really lovely evening here
Such a quirky, yet elegant venue - lovely atmosphere and fab afternoon tea!
I booked the afternoon tea experience and it was very disappointing. The basement where we had our afternoon tea was lacking in grandeur in comparison to the the main ground floor rooms. But I wasn't going to let the cloud my judgement back then. After all, it's about the food too. However, the food itself was below decent. The finger sandwiches were stale, the selection of cakes tasted shop bought- and I mean your local corner shop type, not an actual patesserie. The lemon and raspberry posset was too runny, almost like yogurt (which it was probably was) , the opera cake had a strong artificial taste to it and the feta tomato tartlets were overcooked with rubbery filling. The only decent food on the plate were the scones.
I was really let down by the service too. Staff were discussing detergents and work as we were eating and the choice of Indie rock playing in the background did not help the situation either. I've been to really good afternoon teas in London , around similar price brackets, and so had a standard to compare it to. But No. 15 is way off the margins. I would not recommend at all.
Fantastic afternoon tea, we loved it so much we booked to go back for dinner
Wonderful decor and a lovely, relaxed vibe. Whilst we were there I was impressed enough to look up the prices for their hotel and spa packages. Chef's table events sound really special, I look forward to attending in the future.
Afternoon tea was delicious, with a good range of flavours and pairings. We had the champagne and were still happy with the price we paid overall, despite the extra charge.
Have already recommended to several friends, and plan on returning on my next trip to Bath.
We booked afternoon tea for my daughter on a baby shower weekend trip to Bath.Ite as very comfortable and civilised with a lovely ambiance. Good selection of tea but not all should be made with boiling water however all round the food was lovely except the scones a little hard.. Will say though bath was crazy busy and the day was hot so this fab little hotel was a welcome break
We had the high tea. Everything was great. The dining area was beautiful.
I have been looking forward to visiting No.15 for sometime now and was underwhelmed unfortunately. Beautiful surroundings yes, but poor value afternoon tea. I would expect a very fanciful afternoon tea for £30, but this was not what we received. I have had wonderfully creative afternoon teas in London for this price so I don't think my expectations were too high.
I would definitely recommend Bar 15. Beautiful surroundings, great service and delicious food. Cocktails were certainly on the pricey side but was well worth a visit.
I booked afternoon tea with my daughter for her 21st Birthday on a visit to Bath for the day. The whole experience was lovely, very well looked after and the best afternoon tea I’ve had!
We absolutely lived our stay :)
The staff were ALL amazing.
Location is central and I would thoroughly recommend a weekend break.
HUGE THANKS to the staff.
Amazing afternoon tea, we felt like nothing was too much trouble for the staff. As soon as we needed something they had already predicted and brought it to us. It was lovely and quiet and so many interesting quirky items to look at around the room. Such a special place to celebrate turning 30.
Excellent service, great food in a lovely location for a 50th birthday treat.
Had afternoon tea here for a belated Mother's Day present with my mum and brother on Tuesday and we loved it! I emailed beforehand with dietary requirements and the staff were already aware of these when we arrived and the sandwiches we'd requested were ready for us! All the food was amazing and there was a lot of it for the price! Everything was presented beautifully and tasted great! Would definitely recommend!
The Bar area is a wonderful setting and the staff are kind and attentive!
Fab place - decor amazing. Sandwiches had a huge amount of butter - way too much, but other than that food, tea & service were superb
Superb venue for our romantic lunch. I thoroughly recommend it as a gem of Bath
Pleasantly surprised with the style and ambience of this place. The service and cocktails were amazing!
Excellent service, beautiful hotel and the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had! I would highly recommend it!
A fantastic afternoon tea with wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommended.
A perfect location to while away a Saturday afternoon.
Food is not fresh. Place lovely so to stay for the night i would recommend but do not go there for afternoon tea because you can get way better elsewhere for a similar price.
The venue is lovely but my boyfriend and I weren’t fans of the cocktails. They were trying to hard to be different and out of the 6 we tried we didn’t really like any of them, they were all too bitter or sour. We were unsure on whether it was table service or not, and if it was then the service was terrible. We probably won’t go back
Very charming boutique hotel with attentive service.
Amazing for afternoon tea. Food was great, service was lovely. Highly recommended
Booked no 15 for a friend's 40th for a special time having afternoon tea, we all thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The service was relaxed but respectful, the food was delicate and delicious, with more sandwiches if needed, full size scones, and what we had left we could take home in a box. We all loved the decor and the amazing vintage jewelry tables, I particularly enjoyed all the different art works, hoping to go again soon.
I have been a number of times now and my last visit was disappointing. However, on this visit they redeemed themselves and had also tailored the cakes to a Christmas theme. Staff very lovely too in spite of being busy. Thank you.
Had a day trip to the Christmas market and as you'd expect, Bath was rammed . Having been to the market before I new it would be busy so booked this well in advance. Bar 15 is across the bridge so away from the hustle and bustle. This is a very stylish place. Excellent staff and good food however we were booked for afternoons tea so can't comment on the other menus. Would definitely go again
Excellent experience- beautiful selection of food and a very stylish setting.
Last time I went it was excellent. However, this time, very average. I am a vegetarian who does not eat fish. Sandwiches really unadventuous, scones were tasteless and when we asked for more tea, also had to ask for clean cups. Really disappointed. Already have another reservation for December but thinking of cancelling.
I was quite disappointed by my afternoon tea at No.15 Great Pulteney.
When we arrived and were seated no one came over to us for about 15 minutes or acknowledged us at all. There were staff walking round but no one wanted to give eye contact to us.
There were also things missing from the afternoon tea - they hadn't told us that, I specifically had to ask where they were. Also the bread was slightly crusty so it had obviously been out a while.
The fruit scones were amazing and so were the macaroons and salted caramel tart.
However overall it was underwhelming, I think if the service had been better it would have improved the experience as a whole. I have had much better afternoon teas and this wasn't cheap.
Great place to start the evening with friends, delicious small plates to share with a cocktail, and love the decor, especially the toilets!
Lovely food and pleasant surroundings. It would have been nice if we had been offered more tea and the staff, once we’d been served, were not very attentive.
The setting of No15 is fabulous and the cocktails were great, however, it is a little out of the way from the centre of Bath - but fine if you don't mind the walk. We didn't have food, so unable to comment on that.
I booked a large table a little while in advance and was telephoned 4 days before the event to ask for a large deposit, which I was not aware of at the time that I made the booking. When we arrived at the venue, our pre-ordered drinks were not available & we had to wait for them, although the bar staff worked as quickly as they could.
Finally, when we came to pay the bill the deposit money had not been accounted for and we had to wait for a manager to approve our final bill and were then taken to the reception to settle up. For the deposit I paid, I really did not expect this kind of service. The bar staff working that evening were fantastic, but I think the organisation for our event was very poor - as the bar staff were given no prior warning of our pre-ordered drinks, or the deposit that I had paid.
The setting is great but I think No15 is overpriced for the level of service that you receive.
Really lovely place to stay and eat and relax! Highly recommend. Staff were brilliant very attentive.
At the time of booking afternoon tea, I asked if a small cake with a candle could be presented to my husband for his birthday. Disappointingly this didn't happen, but apart from this, the overall experience was very good.
Outstanding, in every respect. Faultless and can’t wait for another excuse to go.
The afternoon teas was presented lovely and food was to a high standard. The staff were very attentive and the atsmosphere was perfect.
