I remember that a dining experience in Nobu two years ago was amazing, with all the really fresh seafood ingredients and the lighting and atmosphere perfectly combined. This meal is accompanied by the memory of the last time. In my mind, Nobu's sashimi is the most perfect in London. Sashimi is as outstanding as ever, especially the O-Toro. But the experience at the Old Park branch was less than satisfactory, although the service was very attentive. The first point was that when the waiter brought the rice to our table, his fingers accidentally touched the rice. I don't think it was intentional. The second point was that because we sit in the middle of the dining room, we can easily look around. The waiter made two wrong deliveries. The first time was to bring the other guests' food to our table, and the second time was to send my extra sushi to another table. Last but not the least, my partner found a black foreign object in the slice of ginger. I'm not sure if it's an insect. We didn't shoot it in time, but I believe the manager of that day should remember this matter. To our surprise, we got a complimentary dessert. But after this dining experience, I am not sure if I will visit it again. I am reluctant to give up the O-Toro provided by Nobu, but I am also afraid that this will happen again.I hope Nobu will pay attention to this comment and improve the service quality from the perspective of management.
Have been to other Nobu restaurants and they were wonderful.
I was very disappointed by this one. No ambience, poor interior design, furniture was old and tatty.
The food is excellent and service is super but the decor and the ambience is lacking. It is very underwhelming compared to other Nobu’s I have visited.
I would come back but I think the restaurant needs a face lift to suit it’s brand.
I have been to Nobu restaurants all over and have never had an issue, this time the staff weren’t as attentive as usual and the overall Atmosphere was poor, just wasn’t the same, I know changes have to be made due to the current global pandemic but first time myself and my guests didn’t enjoy Nobu.
Hi Mark, We're sorry to hear you were disappointed on this visit. We have privately sent you an email address should you want to get in touch to discuss this further. Kind regards, Nobu London
Superb food, attentive staff. No atmosphere and so disappointed with the quality of the seating/tables. No care and attention was put into making the tables look nice. Very shabby given the reputation of the chain. Please put some imagination into making it a desirable dining experience.
Hi Philip, We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the atmosphere on your visit. We are doing our best to adhere to the Government's Covid-19 guidelines at the moment to keep our guests safe, which recommend clear tables in order to reduce contact and touch points in the restaurant. We have privately sent you an email address should you wish to chat to us further. Kind regards, Nobu London
Great evening with fantastic food........................
Hi Chris, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your kind feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Nobu London soon!
Excellent food, ambience and service. Awesome spot for couples
Hi Curtis, Many thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Nobu London soon.
We were really disappointed. No atmosphere at all, and unattentive service. We came with high expectations and were immediately let down by the total lack of vibe nor charm. Food was good (although not reflective of the cost), everything else was a big let down
Hi there, We're sorry to hear you were disappointed on this visit. We have privately sent you an email address should you want to get in touch to discuss this further. Kind regards, Nobu London
It was very disappointing. Very noisy, I had to chase waiters all the time, food was okay... not worth the money.
Hi Carmen, We're sorry to hear this - we have shared an email address with you privately should you want to speak to our team further. Kind regards, Nobu London
We had high expectations with the reputation Nobu has but apart from the new seared salmon dish which was nice the food was at best average but generally poor. The wagyu was so small & fatty it represented zero value! The music was turned off so the atmosphere was none existent so I would not go back. There are far better restaurants than this such as Novikov, Roka, Sake no hana.
Hi Chris, We're sorry to hear this - we have shared an email address with your privately should you want to speak to our team further. Kind regards, Nobu London
Firstly the COVID precautions put in place were rigorously followed but handled with politeness and professionalism.
The food was superb - delicious and elegantly presented
The service was excellent and our waiter took very good care of us.
A very happy dining experience
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, Linda, especially regarding our new measures. We look forward to welcoming you back to Nobu London soon and will pass on your comments to your server.
Terrible decor and horrible toilets
Wonderful food, beautifully presented and served by knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, Alison. We look forward to welcoming you back to Nobu London soon.
Fabulous food, the perfect venue for our first post lockdown night out.
Great food and service, but the place itself is awful. Looks like a cheap school cafeteria. No decor, just wooden tables and chairs. Can’t believe the “Nobu experience” has been sold so short here. For a meal worth £250 you expect some sort of ambience and setting. It really does look like a school cafeteria. Go Park Chinois, novikov or Aqua Kyoto Instead
It was great to be back after the shutdown and the food was just as good as before. The changes because of COVID-19 detracted a little as it was difficult to hear and understand staff and the online menu wasn’t very user friendly. We had some service issues which was surprising given the high ratio of staff to guests but we enjoyed our evening nonetheless
An establishment such as Nobu asks you to use a menu on your phone. Very, very distracting and annoying. Essentially whenever you wanted to check anything ... starters? pull out your phone? drinks? pull out your phone? desert / coffee? pull out your phone.
Could've made this apparent when booking to check menu will be on phone or alternatively could've printed simple disposable menus for the table.
Been to Nobu's across the globe, this one - as it currently operates - couldn't hold a match to anyone. Don't get me wrong, the food is amazing, but the overall experience feels like you're at a local fast-food / takeaway.
Cannot in good heart recommend until the current period passes.
Hi Ayub. Thank for your feedback. We're sorry to hear the experience of viewing the menu on your phone was frustrating. As you can appreciate, we are doing everything we can at the moment to make the experience of dining at Nobu London as safe as possible during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Please note that we do have one-touch disposable menus available for customer use if using a phone is not suitable - please be sure to request one from your server on your next visit. Kind regards, Nobu London
Great. Food was fresh and delicious as it always is.
Fab service, wonderful food. Had a great night.
I've been to Nobu in London several times now. And other places. For the first time I was not entirely happy with the food. Something has happened since last autumn. The WOW factor was missing this time. Small, exclusive tacos had less taste, the beef wasn't really tender and some other minor issues.
I hope they find a way back to previous standards!
If I could give zero stars I would.
Took ages to revive drinks and starters.
Soup - Luke warm and no spoon to eat it with.
Tacos - just plonked down in front of us. Server did not know which ones were crab, which were lobster.
These are not cheap and were completely tasteless. No difference between them. Taco just broke into pieces and was very dry.
Waited over and hour for main, but were brought several dishes that weren’t ours!
Asked for bill as we just wanted to leave.
Then the Manager tried to charge us for mains that never arrived.
Wine was £68 for the bottle - again not cheap. We left half of this as we left.
The Manager offered little in the way of apology.
A poor evening particularly as it was our wedding anniversary.
Amazing dinner! Wonderful staff ! Memorable anniversary :)
We really liked our dinner, and the food was very good!
Good food with an attentive waiter.
We’ve loved Nobu for 20 years.
Simply the best sushi in London.
Never disappointed. Enjoyed every course and accompanying wine.
Too noisy, a factory, not a restaurant, waiter didn't take note of the small adjustments we asked to our plates, he tried his best but had way too many tables to serve
having a reference point at Nobu in NY, this location was way too busy, rushed, not enough service attention , noisy; it may not be fair, but in some sense resembled a fast food place
Great food and great atmosphere the portions aren’t to bad either it can be pricey so if your going with or taking somebody have at least £160 plus on you iv been there a couple times and will be going agin
Fantastic service from the moment we arrived. I had asked for a quiet table and was suitably looked after despite it clearly being very busy. Food quality and speed of service excellent.
Best Japanese experience outside of Japan - definitely recommend going.
Had a lovely meal with friends. The service could’ve been a little bit better. Apart from that, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal x
Terrible, snobby service!!
Never again in London!!
I go to Nobu as my daughter like it! I fond once again to be in a very noisy restaurant with average food. Very small portions for prices charged. We had a bill of £600 for four with very little alcohol. There are so many nice Japanese restaurants in London with much better food and not a pricy. I just have to after my daughters away form the hype!
Good restaurant would visit again
I was shocked with the quality of food. Not sure if this is due to the recent change as I have been there before.
One example was the veal which was extremely gamey, I couldn’t take a bite without tasting the meat, lacked flavour/seasoning.
I chose the valentines set menu, which was loaded with fish, I think I’ve had enough fish for the year!
My wife and I went to the original Nobu in Old Park Lane In London for Valentines Night a couple of days ago and enjoyed a pretty legendary dinner. Great wine pairing. And a couple of spectacular dishes created for the occasion. Better than ever !
Nobu is The best!
So nice, everything was good at Nobu London
Great place to spend Valentines, only downside was waiting 1 hour for my first course! Made up for it with free bubbles and a free dish wasn’t the waitresses fault but a faulty printer in the kitchen!
Would go again...
