The menu at Nobu London, draws heavily on Matsuhisa's classic Japanese training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, as well as on South American influences gained during his extensive travels. The resulting "new style" Japanese cuisine has become both his trademark and the foundation of his success.

With its own street entrance on Old Park Lane, the 150 cover restaurant includes a separate sushi bar and enjoys commanding views across Hyde Park through full-height windows. Designed with simple elegance by United Designers, the interiors make subtle use of light woods and natural stone to reflect the diverse influences of Nobu's cuisine, incorporating the purity and quality materials inherent of traditional Japanese design.

All along I had this great impression of Nobu - supposed to be the best Japanese Restaurant. I heard stars and famous people routinely visited Nobu and that the food was to die for.

All this turned out to be a delusion and a lie. The Nobu in Old Park Lane was quite terrible. I was actually shocked when I entered the restaurant with my wife for our Anniversary dinner. The place looked like an ordinary fast food restaurant and I mentioned to my wife that Wagamama had better decor and ambiance.

We were given a table for two that was so small it could hardly hold two small plates and a couple of glasses. Why do restaurants punish couples? Unless you come in a group of 3 or 4, you are not given any of the bigger tables!

Our waitress was quite serious with a very patronising attitude. Just one example of her attitude - when asked what size of the main course was so I can plan what I would be ordering, she simply said “it is main course so it will be main course size”! She looked unhappy and quite displeased working there. I was charged 15% service charge for this poor service!

I saw no Japanese staff or any kind of decoration or item that connected to Japan. Not a single painting that said Japanese. This was not fine dining but just a Wasabi with super premium prices!!

The food was overpriced and a complete let down. Ordinary wines priced 3 or 4 times their price at other fine dining establishments.

Overall a big disappointment. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Chef Special was awesome! Incredible ambiance with prompt service and attentive staff was the perfect combination for a first date back with my wife after a few months away!

As expected the food was great. However the restaurant felt more like an office canteen than an ex-Michelin starred restaurant.

Haven’t been to nobu for a while and nothing has changed in the sense that it’s the same tables/decor... feels a bit dated...but the price is still as ridiculous 311.00 for 2 people and only 2 drinks each! 40 pound service charge (but the waitress was good so I didn’t want to push back as it wasn’t her fault) ... don’t think I will be going back although I do love their miso cod. Go to Roka! Cheaper and just as good Japanese food

This nobu was a let down compared to others. While their food was exceptionally delicious as always, their ambiance and feel was a rather big let down. It felt like a cheap sushi restaurant rather than a nobu, that said their service was very good and food was to nobu standard but I would consider either a different nobu in London or a different restaurant all together if you want a more special meal.

What an outstanding experience for us. The effort into making each bite a delicacy was so apparent and the wait staff was supreme. Yes, it is worth the expense. Just don't eat make a memory you will never forget!

Service was slow. Menu lacked sufficient description for first timers. Wait staff didn't make it any clearer when asked to elaborate on menu items. Water and Wine glasses left empty. The corner where we were sitting was severely neglected. Food was good but service was lacklustre. Overall not worth the £350 spent for 2 people.

It's not what it was...………

We would often go to Nobu for special occasions. It was one restaurant where we could all find something we liked.

While it was still great to have a special family meal together, something was missing.

The service was amateurish and lacking in knowledge of the dishes. The food was OK, but had slipped. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Some of the sauces were 'clumsy' and some of the raw materials, not as good as they used to be eg the chicken

And while it was never cheap, it isn't even value for money. For what we paid, we could have had the set menu at any of London's 2 & 3 Michelin Star restarants in the certain knowledge that the entire experience would have been better. Next time, that's what we'll do

Nobu has wonderful service and siblime food. The staff are incredibly attentive.

The decor, however, is bland. The restaurant needs to be remodelled.

We always have the waiter pick out all of our food and enjoy that 1:1 service immensely. This time we had many waiters and the first one left twenty minutes into the meal. The personalization was lost and the other 3-4 waiters assumed that we knew what we ordered when it was not us that put in the order. As it turns out, the first waiter simply ordered Nobu’s signature dishes, which were ok, but not enough. It was a disjointed experience with no personal touch.

We ordered 2 similar main course dishes and the staff did not advise us on the quantity or the similarity of the dishes. Udon noodles came with a big chunk of bland chicken breast{ we expected shredded chicken } & we separately ordered for a grilled teriyaki chicken as well.
The Shitake Mushroom salad was refreshing & so was the Beef main course dish.
Serving Staff needs to engage with the diners, we asked for some vegetarian options but did not get any interesting recommendations.

it was good but just not exceptional . Starting to feel very tired and ordinary in comparison to other restaurants .The service is good but the menu is probably better at Nobu Shoreditch (pity the service is so haphazard there). Yes will go back because its still good is just not great

The most under whelming Nobu experience I’ve ever had. Have dined in many NOBUs all over the world. Food decent (Omikasi dinner for 2) atmosphere subpar, service average. Meal for 2 was $700+. Very disappointed. Had a meal the next night at Kiru in Chelsea and it was night and day a better atmosphere.

After great experiences with Nobu Milan we decided to visit one of the chain’s London places. Unfortunately it was nothing like it’s Italian brother. The service was more than poor - waiter switched the orders and forgot (!) about the meal, which was ordered for a child. It was plain mathematics that one plate was missing. Especially when the group wasn’t that big - 7 persons, and there were 3 of the same meal ordered. We were polite, and tried to find something which kitchen could prepare faster. The waiter admited his mistake, gave us some cold apologies and not offered absolutely nothing for a girl to fix that situation. The staff seemed to be far more interested in chatting with each other than looking after guests in the busy restaurant (I could hear their personal opinions about the work for example). When it came to paying the bill we found out that the full 15% service was calculated into the table. The ambient and inventory was much out of date.
