Decor is lovely. DJs playing at the bar end - music was loud and a little unnecessary at 8pm when most people were eating. Staff were friendly but we were kept waiting for over an hour for our table. Food was good.
Beautiful food and great service, lovely atmosphere and decor
Great value . Food was delicious with a good choice
The drinks they gave were really nice and well worth the money. The food portions were amazing.
The food and service was good but the toilets were very dirty. I did let a member of staff know so they could clean it up at the time. I think they should be checked more regularly for such a lovely restaurant.
Always a GREAT place for a pleasant meal.
However, the evening felt slightly rushed with waiters hovering around the tables every 7 minutes.
The ambience lacked the elegance of our last visit as Trance/Dance music being played at an establishment which should play much more relaxed Jazz like music.
Lovely food and the service was outstanding. We had a great evening and will definitely go again.
We went here for New Year’s Eve and was surprised they didn’t continue to offer the Christmas menu. Christmas menu was much better than New Year’s Eve menu. It was £80 pp and 3 course, where as the Christmas menu was £35 for 3 course! I didn’t feel the price justified the food we had. The scallops came out cold. The steak only came with mash potatoes, whereas the Christmas menu it had seasonal veg and chips! The fish was over cooked and the top of was quite hard and quite salty. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t amazing. Standard. We felt the price increased due to NYE. The dessert is always far too sweet as always! The profiteroles were rock HARD. We didn’t put a complaint in as it would just dampen mood. Not sure if we’ll go here again.
Had a lovely time, the meals were exceptional. Lovely atmosphere and views of birmingham canals. Love the xmas decor.
Will definantly visit again.
Food was cold. And sea bass was over cooked.
Customer service was very poor had to keep asking for further service.
Staff were great, food was lovely and great atmosphere
Great food and brilliant service.
Staff were very personable and our evening more memorable.
Great way to spend Christmas day, super food, great service and lovely ambience.
Great food and festive options, server was very helpful, would improve at beginning of meal as we had to wait over half an hour for our table and we didn’t get much info on how long it would take.
All 6 courses were excellent. The Wine recommendation from the Waiter was also excellent. Nice Cocktails and lovely decor throughout the Restaurant.
Not at all what I expected. Having initially been seated by a staff kitchen we got moved next to a very rowdy Xmas party.
Service was chaotic and slow until we ordered drinks at which point they arrived faster than we could drink them.
Food was fine and our eventual waitress was lovely but just an odd experience. Large amounts of staff floating around looking disinterested, other staff members and their friends took over the bar area later (which also randomly had a dj). Was not the luxurious special occasion I had booked for but certainly memorable
We visited Noels Bar and Restaurant for the first time on 17th December and loved our experience. The staff were lovely and very obliging, the food was excellent and the wine was good - if a bit expensive. We were not put under any pressure to hurry up - indeed our reservation was for 1.45pm yet we didn't sit down at tour table til 2.30pm as we were enjoying cocktails in the bar area.
My one gripe is that I was surprised not to be served any petit fours with our post lunch tea /coffee. Indeed we had to actually pay extra for them !
That aside we had a super meal and the staff were excellent.
Lovely evening with lovely food!
Lovely setting. Great service from all staff and excellent food and wine. They even called me promptly when I left my glasses behind. Absolutely highly recommended.
Everything was excellent
The food was very good,The staff was great and polite.Service let us down a bit.The staff take time to check on customers. We had to wait long to get our mains.Drinks took long too to come. You need to improve a lot on customer service.Apart from that all was good.I will come back again and i would recomend it.
We had a good experience at Noel's - Food was good. The waitress was very attentive which was appreciated as there were several large groups so it would have been easy to overlook us.
Awful meal. The scenery is nice but when we got to the table some of the cutlery and place mats were dirty. These were dealt with quickly however. Chewing gum under the table also a bit off putting. We ordered some cocktails and they got one wrong which wasn’t really a problem. My friend had the prawn starter and they were mouldy and so they sent a new one out. Went to the toilets and the hand dryers were broken meaning people had to use paper towels to dry their hands but they clearly had not emptied the bins in a long time as there was paper towels all over the floor. One of the toilets was blocked to the top which was really disgusting. The mains came out and they again got one wrong which meant I was without food whilst my friends ate so theirs would not get cold. The food was mediocre at best, fairly tasteless and not worth the money you pay. Would not recommend.
If you’re looking for somewhere with great food, great drinks and fantastic service and ambience Noel’s bar and restaurant is perfect.
Excellent ambiance, the Lamb shank was superior and cocktails were delicious
Very nice place, lovely interior, not too noisy, life music DJ on Friday great atmosfere , very clean environment and toilets. Food very nice and taste, however not extra plates provided for share fish plate, no extra tissues only white linnen napkin, when asked for extra plate for mule and shrimp shells waitres bring me water with lemon lol Generally very nice place next to canal. Recomended.
Service for super great, food was really tasty. It could have been a little warmer.
The noise level was way too high as a party of 10 behind us was making loud noises. I don’t think the management told them off. We couldn’t even hear ourselves talking.
Definitely would go there again.
Food very good although service a little too relaxed. A big negative for us was that we paid £35.00 for a well known bottle of Prosecco that sells for £7.00 in Tesco. So therefore the value felt poor and the experience a little less special. Would definitely recommend reviewing that. Very nice decor.
Whilst the food was good the following issues were experienced -
- The potatoes and seasonal veg were missing from our main meals and we had to ask for them. This caused a delay of around 8 minutes and most of the main meals had been eaten.
- The private room was opened and caused a draft to where we was sat, the temperature of the air coming from this room was extremely cold and made it uncomfortable
- Our second round of drinks took 10 minutes to arrive, despite being the only people in the restaurant. One of these drinks did not arrive and we had to ask for it 5 minutes later.
- It was disappointing to see that the chocolate sauce on the tiramisu pudding was set solid on the plate and was not able to be eaten unless it was scraped off the plate. This was raised but we were told thats how its always been.
A lovely looking restaurant with a nice atmosphere and nice food however the service left us disappointed.
Our table was booked for 8, however we weren’t seated until 9.20. We had to chase and keep asking. I’ve been in before when they have kicked me off the table because they wanted it back, but we had to wait ages. They gave us our 1st drinks on the house to apologise, but still thats not really acceptable to wait that long could understand if we didn’t have a booking. But we noticed people who came in after us being seated but we weren’t. However, as always food was great! And the girl that serviced us was amazing too . So thank you :)
Booked Noels a few months ago to celebrate my nans 80th birthday. Messaged them to say please make the visit extra special.
We ordered food and our mains arrived to only be disappointed that our nans lamb shank (£25) was that hard she couldn’t cut it.
The waiter tried to rectify this by giving my nan a fresh meal, which she asked for steak. The agreement was for this to come our with our deserts so she wasn’t eating on her own.
Whilst waiting we ordered drinks, and was giving the wrong wine - another mistake.
Deserts arrived and we had finished them - but no sign of the steak!! We had now been in the restaurant for 2.5 hours and all my nan has ate was some mash potato!
By this point we are now all getting upset as what was meant to have been a special night - was completely ruined.
I asked to speak to the main manager - (Laila I believe was her name) for her to smirk in my face whilst I was upset trying to tell her the situation. I found this DISRESPECTFUL AND RUDE! I burst into tears as I just walked off as she had now made the situation a lot worst.
We all left asap- by that point the steak arrived (too late) and we walked out.
I am disgusted with the restaurant and wouldn’t advise anyone to visit!
We had a fabulous evening at Noel's. Food was delicious, lovely drinks and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back!
Great meal, service and atmosphere would definitely return - thank you
Very nice enjoyed it all and great location
Noels is a great place to eat and drink, this place has an vibe that is premier leagues above others.
Food was really good and bottomless cocktails were worth every penny , we had no complaints and really enjoyed our visit here
I spent unforgettable time in the warmth of Noels bar and restaurant . The food was perfect and the staff very polite. The festive decoration was wonderful and made an unforgettable night for me and my partner.Thank you so much Noels👏🎉
