We booked and confirmed reservations. When we arrived the restaurant was not even half full. The greeter told us that we would have to wait 45 minutes to be seated even though we had a table and reservations were confirmed because they were short staffed. I understand that unforeseen issues arise if employees don’t show up but seating us would not have affected them. We could have waited for food but not even being allowed to sit at the many available tables was the wrong way to handle that. We are guests in the hotel this is located.
Hosted have a bad attitude
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful valentine's dinner here. The food and service was excellent. I definitely recommend it!
Food was outstanding and location was perfect for us.
Some food was good, oysters were bad, etoufe was very good, fried green tomatoes were very good as well. Steak was fair, fried alligator was just ok. Service was ok, not great but I think they were overwhelmed with about 50% of the tables full. Atmosphere was bar-like. Probably a good place to grab a beer and watch a game. I wanted so much more from this restaurant but it just came up short.
Good. The only bad thing was that the fried catfish had a fishy water taste
We arrived to find the restaurant closed. Not sure how Open Table took my reservation. We had 2 toddlers with us and not being able to go here was a major issue. Please explain why you are showing spots that are not even open.
Server messed up one entree (wrong kind of soup...there are only two on the menu and “gumbo” seemed pretty obvi). Kitchen messed up a second entree when they ran out of crawfish etouffee and the server didn’t give us the option to order something else until he delivered all of the other entrees to the table. He offered the foodless guest a bowl of gumbo while his re-order was being prepared, and then comp’d him NOTHING on his bill...we were charged the full price of the gumbo and the re-ordered food. Then three of us sat there and watched the 4th person in our party eat is late entree after we had finished eating. That’s always awkward. Also, minor detail, but no one (the hostess, server or manager) even apologized for the errors.
I went on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. Nice atmosphere and food was good.
My husband and I went during a slow time so the noise level and service was great. I got the shrimp and grits and wasn’t too impressed. From what I understand Nola has a great reputation in New Orleans so I figured we try this one out. I was also confused as to why they had on 80’s rock music on. I would think they’d have jazz to go with the vibe. Maybe a different meal would be better, but if you like gritty grits, you may like the shrimp and grits.
Went here with work group. Food was really good and staff was great.
I reserved a table for my boyfriend's birthday. When we arrived, there was a table that was extremely loud. The restaurant only had 4 other tables filled, but this particular table had the restaurant SOUNDING packed. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The food on the other hand was atrocious. Our food came extremely hot, which is good. The fish was fried so hard, the fries were so burnt, I didn't eat many of them, and the crawfish fritters were so hard. It wasn't a delightful meal at all, I've had better cooked Cajun food at Razzoo's. I wouldn't return to the restaurant.
This was my 2nd time there and took my hubby as apart of our anniversary celebration. I am always (2nd time now) taken aback that it is so empty- only 1 other couple was there when we arrived and a handful of patrons arrived later before our departure. The service was outstanding- the hostess was friendly and even volunteered to take a pic of us! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and did well with checking in with us, without being bothersome. The food was great! Hot temp, right amount of spice, flavorful, and a generous portion! I’ll be back!
I went on a Monday afternoon about 5. Food came out quickly and our server was great.
Awesome experience! The food, drinks and service were perfect! I definitely recommend this place to my family and friends!
Food was sub-par, lacked the flavor of typical Cajun food.
I gave this place two additional stars SOLELY because of our waiter, Victor (TJ). He was extremely personable, was able to speak to each item we asked about and he saw that no one else had taken our order after a lengthy wait - so he happily stepped in!
The food was decent.
YES - blacked Snapper, crawfish macaroni and cheese, crab and crawfish crab cake
NO - to anything saucy (the etouffee - too tomato and watery; bbq shrimp and grits - weird tangy taste)
Food was great! Too loud for business lunch, we couldn’t hear each other’s conversation. Service was good but waitress was overwhelmed.
The overall experience was somewhat okay. I say that because of the uncleaned table and lack of attention to the restroom. Waitress and Food runners were not on the same accord. We received another customers food. I like the idea of be able to dine in an established that can satisfy my taste buds(being a NOLA girl) and NOLA Brasserie nailed it. Although the food was very satisfying. I would suggest the staff be better prepared to answer questions regarding the history or maybe even more knowledgeable about the owner of the establishment while working on a higher level of customer service. My husband is a waiter at Galatorie's one of the top rated and well known restaurant establishments in New Orleans and always critiquing(rolling eyes). I know that's pretty high on the tolling pole but reaching for a higher level of customer service will most definitely get you guys a much higher rating. Honestly, I felt like I was dining at one of the local daiquiri shops here in Dallas(if you know what that feels like). The dining experience was not what I expected for the location.
Nice spot. Very noisy. More of a bar type atmosphere.
Overall it's an average experience at best. Considering it was Mother's Day and with a prime Downtown Dallas location, I was expecting more. Made reservations via open table for 5, which by the time word got distributed to family we ended up adding an additional 4 at the door. Well this caused some tension at the hostess stand, unnecessarily because the place was fairly empty, during brunch time in Downtown Dallas. We had another group of 3 that also made reservations via open table and we asked that we all be sat together, more issues for the staff of an almost empty restaurant at 130p on Sunday and Mother's Day in Downtown Dallas. As a vegetarian, I'm always approaching restaurants with little to no expectations that I will be satisfied because Dallas as a whole is taking it's sweet time catching up to the rest of the world's most progressive cities, when it comes of vegetarian/vegan dining options. But for the rest of my group, I was expecting authentic New Orleans food, atmosphere, music, and decor. None of that happened. Anyway, the food was served in large portions with an average presentation and taste, but priced reasonably well. Our group, which ended up totaling 12 ppl dined for about 2 hours and never once did a large group come in or did the place fill to capacity to justify slow service and being told no they couldn't sit us all together. Engaging Name, Location with Average Food and Service.
I was a little concerned when we walked in and only two tables had customers but we looked at the menu and instantly identified 4 items we wanted to try. As we ate the restaurant slowly filled and by the time we left it was packed.
I had a delicious ground wild boar sandwich, my wife had a great po' boy, my 3 daughters had chicken floretine, catfish and the pulled pork sandwich. Everyone devoured their meal and we finished off the lunch with their bread pudding which was outstanding.
Our waiter was prompt and funny and attentive. The manager brought my wife a rose afterwards for Mother's Day. We loved our meal and will be back!
Upon arriving we were seated in a booth then a waiter suggested we move to a bigger table out of the sun. With new table we had a new waiter whom stood behind a 1/2 wall to take our drink order vs coming around to the actual table; slow service when the restaurant wasn't at capacity; took forever to get our drinks; extremely loud due to one other party celebrating; we ended up leaving after our appetizer.
At least the waiter was honest when we asked about the dessert selection. Glad we didn't waste $$.
Great NOLA food. Great restaurant for dinner before Stars or Mavericks games.
My experience with Alex, who was my waiter was Wonderful!!! He is very friendly, accomodating, fun, and was so nice. He kept it very professional and entertaining. Jose on the other hand treated me as if I was up to no good from the very beginning; when I first made my reservation on the phone. He went on and on about how Saturdays are one of the busiest days at NOLA and that wasn't what I saw the 3 to 4 hours in which my party of 16 people were there on Saturday, April 21st from 5-8 or 8:30pm. In fact, ours was the largest party in which I saw in the restaurant during the entire time in which we were there. We spent lots of money, I with only myself and my 16 yr old daughter...whose birthday it was spent $53 alone. Others at my table order 2 and 3 alcoholic beverages and everyone had food and some even ordered appetizers. His facial expressions say everything and several of my guests noticed his unpleasant personality. Our money spends just like the next person and I was not pleased with him at all. Customer service is the key factor to any business and it can be the determining factor as to whether or not someone returns or not. We were not loud or distracting or any of those things. He needs to consider being re-trained as a host or whatever his title is and maybe even take some tips from Alex. Other than the negative experience with him, everything else was WONDERFUL and my daughter really enjoyed her food, the ambiance of the restaurant, and we all had a good time. I would definitely return and recommended your spot to others. I had 3 family members who flew in from Atlanta to help celebrate my daughter's special day and they were impressed too. Thanks again.
Amazing restaurant and staff. Highly recommend!
We went for my mother's birthday because she loves NO Food. I guess it's a true lunch location. Dinner was just ok. Server was sub-par. My husband is from Louisiana and said it wasn't good? I usually get Shrimp & Grits during lunch service which is usually GREAT! We won't be back for dinner.
It was great! Accommodated a growing party of ladies for a lunch date of 5-9 people with a smile.
The food was very delicious! Our waiter was very nice and friendly. The only bad thing about our meal was the amount of time we had to wait. The dining room was not busy but it took a while for us to order and to eat.
Hands down a great experience. The waiter was super courteous and fast with his service. The bartender made some bomb mojitos and the food was AMAZING. Very authentic New Orleans tasting Cajun food. Highly recommend.
Good service, menu had a lot of choices, food was pretty good.
Great Food ! Great Atmosphere! Great Service!
We made a reservation but it wasn’t needed. The servers were kind, friendly, and attentive.
It was beautiful the whole staff was involved
Nice intimate spot. Great food and service. Very romantic
I’ll get straight to the point, Great service with Great food! Read a few reviews before my reservation and they were mixed. Based off my experience the negative reviews were so unwarranted. Maybe those reviews were from people going there during peak times which would be hard for any place to be absolutely perfect but like I said, everything was great for me
Terrible customer service tonight while out celebrating my wife birthday with some friends . I was very disappointed in how we were treated . The food was cold, the rice was crunchy undercooked , and the closing manager blamed us for the cold food . Even after we paid for our full tab plus tip he had the odyssey to follow us out the door. Which he began clap to get our attention and proceed to tell us “ you black folk not to return here again” I was not going to be negative with him. Even though I was pull back, so the nerve some people , I urge you not to take your dollars here . This company is clearly not wanting OUR business !
The food was phenomenal and the staff was on point!!
Gumbo was pretty good, and I’m a gumbo snob.
