North Italia - Reston
Was here a month ago and couldn’t wait to come back again for the Bolognese — so delicious — and It was just as good as I remembered. Wish you were in Fairfax City!
Always outstanding food and service from North Italia! Our favorite go to restaurant in NoVa.
via Open Table we mentioned our anniversary and asked for a quiet table - we got a table in the bar area (pretty loud) and no recognition of it being a special event. Drinks came very late, after appetizers were done. Wine came half way through meal. Wait staff didn't seem to care about experience, more about moving us along. Never asked how meal was, at any point.
It took fifteen minutes before anyone approached our table. It Took 40 minutes to get 4 cocktails and it wasn’t busy. We chose indoor dining but it was so hot…felt like the AC wasn’t even on.
Food was good though. Would not go back.
Food was fabulous!
The truffle garlic bread is to die for!
Absolutely loved our dinner at North Italia. We've been to the Tysons location and decided to try out Reston. And we were so happy we did! The ambiance was amazing. Loved the outside seating. Everything was great!
The food and drinks from the bar were outstanding!! We are definitely going back.
Very slow service even though the restaurant was only 1/4 full. Food was good, almost no choices for anyone with a dairy allergy - cheese in almost every dish.
Honestly expected more. Unfortunately, our birthday note on our reservation wasn’t mentioned by any of the staff members. Our server didn’t seem very interested either, and only came to our table a few times. However, the food was better than the service.
Probably wouldn’t go back.
Our foursome had great service! Carla was an excellent server and a pleasure to meet, and the food was well prepared and presented. Good value for money and great evening out.
Only our second time here, but they made us feel like regulars. Our server, Megan (sp) was so helpful & when she heard me mention it was hubs birthday, she offered his fav dessert - gelato! - on the house. What a nice touch.
The meal was wonderful - great pasta, beautiful salads & the grilled bread started things off nicely.
So glad to have killer Italian food again in RTC. Now that things are getting back to normal, we'll be there more often.
Great location especially the outdoors seating on a nice evening. This location has had several restaurants over the years so please support this great restaurant.
Kale chicken salad was okay - chicken super dry and thin. Would maybe try another dish in the future but wouldn't hurry back.
The server was friendly. Food was great.
Don’t get me wrong I love North Italia but my brunch on Sunday was a nightmare. It started with the most disorganized server I’ve ever met. Then the food that was late and wrong to the point that the manager had to comp us the full meal. I’ll go back but I’ll need some time to recover.
Good food, service and nice setting
The food was amazing and our server was fantastic. We will definitely make this place part of our regular rotation!
An average food and services experience for the price
Food was very good. Service was pretty good. Prices on the high side. I’ll definitely return.
The menu is awesome from starters to entrees. Shrimp Scampi starter and Scallops entree as well as Chicken Parm are tops. Staff is awesome as well. Our waiter Chris plus the hostesses made our Anniversary celebration extra special. Highly recommend.
Great place to eat for a birthday dinner with family.
I am a fairly frequent visitor to North Italia, and recommend it regularly to my friends. I have posted very laudatory reviews of both food and staff. But this most recent experience has made me a skeptic, and I doubt I will return in the near future. The food was, as usual, very good--no issues there. But the service was beyond terrible. Slow, careless, rude--I could not figure it out, especially given the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time. It was a belated father's day outing, and we left angry and unwilling ever to return. Too bad. Consistency is key in any industry, and North Italia failed us this time. It would have been acceptable if only certain aspects had been off--I understand there are better days than others--but this experience overall was just the worst. So bad that it was impossible to overlook. Oh well. Lots of other venues around.
Loved the experience, as always!
A wonderful setting for our anniversary dinner.
Food was well prepared and the service was spot on.
Love this place. Come to it often. Everything and everyone was great….EXCEPT THE HOSTESS PEOPLE. TJEY ARE THE REASON I ALMOST LEFT AND WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
THERE ARE MANY CHOICE, so you should treat people nice, not snap at them or sound like your more important than the customer pay money towards your paycheck. Really ridiculous to treat people like this.
Please don’t give me a reason to go somewhere else.
Great lunch at the Reston location. I have been to the Tyson’s location many times but I have to say the Reston location is nice and definitely less traffic and noise than Tyson’s. The food and service was excellent as always. Nice to have a choice of two locations.
Overall the experience at north Italia was amazing and would highly recommend
Salmon Avocado toast was good but more like an appetizer not a main course for Fathers Day. Too pricey and too small portion.
The food was excellent. Despite labor shortages our server gave us adequate attention and exceeded our needs.
We had a delicious Pig Pizza there and took an even better Spicy Meatball Pizza to go. Loved the Arancini in tomato sauce and the Shrimp Scampi was divine.
service was a bit off this time - maybe as more guests are returning to dining at restaurants - the level of coordination between service and kitchen staff needs a review. I placed our order for a funghi flatbread as an appetizer as soon as we were settled at our table. Then we reviewed the menu and ordered our salads, entrees and wine for the evening. Our Caesar salad arrived very soon after but before our appetizer and our wine. We were hoping to have the appetizer before salad and our server went to check and told us the flat bread will soon arrive. It didnt happen. So we enjoyed our salads with just water to drink. The very tasty funghi flatbread did eventually arrive. The server remembered that I had ordered the Nero Mascalese when I had last dined at North - I was impressed by her memory -of choosing the Nero (since the Ornellaia I had first ordered was not very good). So I took her suggestion that another wine I was about to order was too acidic and instead we went with an Amarone which turned out to go quite well with the 4 different pasta dishes we ordered. My short rib cavalelli tasted very good although it appears the amount of short rib was less than in the past; my wife enjoyed the chicken pesto which had a lot of basil as she likes it; our friends enjoyed their mafaldine and burrata anolini which was such a pretty pasta - like sunflower shaped ravioli. One of the greeters was doing double duty helping to clear used plates after every course - every time she walked by our table which was not too far from the check-in podium- she would check and ask to help clear. Maybe the place was slammed or there was no bussers working on Saturday evening?
We fell in love with North when
Wonderful good. Pleasant and competent staff
North Italia seems to be one of the few consistently good and fun venues in RTC. I would compliment the staff in particular. They are fun, funny, smart, professional, and patient. During this most recent visit, Ms. Hera was taking care of us, and we could not have enjoyed it more. She was thoughtful and immediately assessed our dining style, and treated us exactly in the way that made us comfortable. We appreciated it. Food was great, as always, as were the cocktails...made to order. Nothing at all to complain about here. NI is a place I will always hit when I need to be sure it will a good experience.
This is my second dining experience here, & will absolutely come back. The staff was very accommodating at our decision to eat outside. They said it would be 30 minutes & ended up being 10 at most. Also, our wine selection was out of stock, yet the manager scoured the restaurant & found a bottle just for us.
Love the pizza with fig, goat cheese. Excellent service
