Great location, set menu is good value, house white very pleasant. The veggie options were rather disappointing though, soup and leek and mushroom wellington which was more like a sausage roll, not great at all. Non veggie options were good.

Good food and nice location. The only problem is if you are vegrmetarian/vegan. The only options in the menu were a pasta starter and a pasta main dish - too much pasta!

The starters and main courses we delicious. Both desserts were most disappointing. Staff were genuinely friendly and efficient. Temperature a little cold when sitting at the window as the central air conditioning unit was close.

Northbank is a real find.
Tucked away by the Millennium bridge on (surprisingly) the North Bank of the Thames.
Not only is the food excellent and varied, with crayfish and scallops from Cornwall, but the service is attentive and friendly.
You can dine on the terrace overlooking the Thames on warm days or enjoy the same vista from the plate glass window clad dining room.
A great wine selection that the manager Angelo will advise you on.
Perfect for a business lunch or dinner or a personal special occasion or celebration.

We decide to go impromptu and I’m very pleased we did. The staff were incredibly attentive and informative without being intrusive. We had a very comfortable booth style seating which enabled us to have a private comfortable conversation. The fizz was lovely as was the rose perfectly chilled and not overly expensive. We both chose the hake with brown shrimp which was perfectly cooked and I am pleased to say the shrimp one of my favourite was a leading ingredient instead of and after thought. We will definitely return for a longer meal - but we try to not over indulge week days - but the starters and desserts looked very appetising

Had the Friday night steak deal - the waiting staff couldn’t be any quicker in taking the order and taking the plates away, in fact one of us was still eating the main course when the plates were taken away. Steak was no more than a minute steak , more suitable for a sandwich, chips were nice as was the prosecco. The real disgrace of it all though is to ask for still water and get a bottle of tap water (the restaurants branded bottle so no way it was authentic mineral water) and be charged for it. Don’t bother coming here for the meal deal..

We were seated on the Terrace which on a lovely summer lunchtime was delightful. We found out that the Set Lunch Menu was not available during July so the overall cost of our meal was more than we had anticipated but the food we did have was excellent.

Food was fine. Quite a nice terrace outside with good views of Millennium Bridge etc.

The food was excellent, we had the set menu. However I had requested a table not near to serving stations and yet we were seated right by a swing door going into the kitchen.
The hostess was not very helpful even as she tried to tell me she was, saying there was no note on our booking - I had a printed version showing that we did.
We remained on the same table as we were told no other was available - this spoilt our experience.

We made a 6pm reservation so we could get to a West End show that started at 7:30. We arrived early, told the hostess that we wanted to be seated asap adn had to leave at 7. Bar service was sketchy - we ordered 3 drinks. 2 drinks arrived, and when my drink didnt come, I had to go to the bartender and ask about my Chardonnay. He said they didnt have it by the glass. Odd that I had to go find out myself. Then, a party who arrived after us was seated first and I had to go ask again to be seated. Our food arrived at 6:35, so we didn't have a chance to enjoy or finish. that was disappointing service. Food was very good albeit rushed. Views of Millenium bridge and the south bank were good. a convenient walk from Tate Modern and Globe Theater.

We had the set menu, which is very good value, and a lovely bottle of Tempranillo.
This is restaurant not be missed in my opinion.

A good position next to the River Thames but when sitting you can only see the water from the raised tables at the back and not at all from the 'ground floor tables'. There is plenty of space inside the restaurant around the tables. The service was prompt on a 2/3 full Wednesday lunchtime, so there was no stress on the staff.
The food was simple despite some ambition on the menu names and well cooked and the main courses provided passable value for the setting. The asparagus starters were disgraceful value £9 for two spears of asparagus and the pieces of about half a morel mushroom. I did not notice (and was not told until afterwards) I would have grumbled. But the black pudding and gammon croquette snacks at £4 were fine value.
The wine was over priced, roughly 4-5 times retail at the lower end but the 'special' South African Chenin Blanc' we ordered at £25 was reasonably priced and exceptionally good apart from when the waiter tried to distribute our second bottle to another table.
The music on pipe (60's 70s coolish jazz with some vocals) seemed just right.

Lovely setting beside the river and the food was lovely but unfortunately the service let it down. We booked for a group of 10 at 6pm because one of our party had to leave early and there were no other diners, yet we had to wait a good 20-30mins for our main so our friend had to leave without eating. Would recommend for date night but not for big group bookings.

I thought the kitchen and the staff did a wonderful job with accommodating my food allergies! They created new dishes for me as I couldn't have very much on the menu but still charged me the set menu( starters and main for £33) price plus prosecco! The view is nice as you can see the millennium bridge and the London skyline albeit from a lower level! The menu looks fantastic for someone who likes fish as well!

Sadly, I was very disappointed. The pictures on the website are very misleading. It looks like you can dine outside overlooking the river, when actually you can only eat inside whilst looking through a floor to ceiling window looking at a brick wall.

We had to ask for the set menus, which was on the booking and we never received our glass of prosecco which should have accompanied the meal.

Overall the service was fine.

Northbank is a great restaurant with a fairly formal feel to it. Wine list not cheap but it is the city. Always good fish on the menu. We had the rib eye steak though this time which was excellent and the chips to die for with the Bearnaise sauce. No room for pudding sadly

Second time at Northbank. The first was mid-week and we had a very pleasant dinner, which prompted me to return at the weekend. Sadly it didn't deliver the same standard the second time around.
The food was ok-ish, but the service, whilst very friendly, was painfully slow and a bit amateurish. We ordered two bottles of fairly expensive white wine and it wasn't chilled - I had to ask several times for the bottles to be left on ice until it reached a drinkable temperature.
Location is great, with good views of the Millenium bridge and the south bank, but it took too long to be served fairly ordinary food with a hefty bill at the end.

A perfect venue on the river, with thoughtful staff and a good level of service. The menu was extremely limited, but our choice, of a lobster risotto was wonderful, if a little small. The bill was high for the amount of food + a bottle of wine. However, it fitted the requirement.

The food was really yummy however the portion sizes were very small. The staff didn’t inform us of this so people were left Unsatisfied with the food as no sides were ordered. Also the service was poor as we had to constantly ask for things and remind them of orders etc even though the restaurant wasn’t hugely busy.

It was all perfectly OK but, perhaps because we had the set menu, thinks it is more fine-dining than it actually is. The food was tasty and well-presented but nothing exceptional. The service was very good but perhaps overly attentive - an empty glass wasn't allowed to sit on the table for more than a few seconds before it was whisked away. Best things were the setting: right on the river opposite Tate Modern, and the set: a big, comfortable table in a quiet booth in a tastefully-decorated room.
