Northbank Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Have been a regular to Northbank since it opened and usually dine there for lunch, especially during summer on terrace.
Seven of us for dinner this time and although service and food has always been notable this evening was exceptional in every way, from attentive and excellent service to great food and wine.
I have always chosen Northbank for special occasions/celebrations as the food is gorgeous, location wonderful with views of the river and excellent staff. For what you get in this type of restaurant/location the prices are also fair. It isn't cheap, but you wouldn't expect it to be.
I took my team to Northbank to mark a significant professional milestone (35 years in the Insurance Industry), and none of us were disappointed. The menu is creative and excellent and the food and wine very good, the service was prompt, professional and pleasant, and the ambience perfect for the occasion with a nice view of the Thames from our booth.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience, and am looking forward to visiting in Summer when the open-ait terrace becomes a more attractive option!
We've dined at Northbank several times before with friends. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. We arrived half an hour early than our booking and were told this wasn't a problem and that we could have a drink at the bar or go straight to our table. We were offered bottled or tap water which is always a nice touch. We booked in for the £20 steak deal (200g ribeye steak, chips and a glass of prosecco or beer) which we hadn't tried before. The bread roll was served with bacon butter and we were presented with an amuse bouche in a little chest - crab bite on a bed of stones to keep it warm. The 200g ribeye was beautifully cooked and my truffle sauce was to die for. (I've actually never had a steak sauce I've enjoyed so much in my life and it's the main reason I keep going back) I had cauliflower cheese as a side as I'd enjoyed that the last time we came. We had had a late lunch so didn't have a starter or dessert but they always have a good selection of both and I was sorely tempted. I usually opt for the cheese board, not many places you find stinking bishop on the menu!
I almost forgot to mention the decor! The menus and wallpaper are 'subtle' images of modern London society by Timorous Beasties. At first glance the images look like a vignette from a children's story book but are darker on close inspection! The facilities were clean and fresh but were downstairs. I'm afraid I didnt check for disabled access toilets so please check before you book if you require.
I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I always do. :)
Really enjoyed ourselves here. Food was delicious, the staff were really friendly and attentive and we were given a table with a beautiful view of the river. It was my friends bday and they suprised us with a birthday celebration. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We are regulars of Northbank and the food every time we go is outstanding. Tonight was no different. An orchestra of flavours exciting your pallet. We started and finished in the bar where the we always enjoy banter with the staff and their wonderfully crafted cocktails.
As always a great evening.
I've been to Northbank both for business and pleasure and it worked well for each. Food quality very good and menu interesting. Ate here prior to going to the Globe Theatre and timing worked well, but eating early meant we were practically the only customers so restaurant had no atmosphere- this may be different at peak times.
Selected Northbank for an important client lunch, expectations on what I was after was met. The whole experience a hit, from the initial greet through to the booth-style table that allowed conversation and onto the delicious food. Will certainly be returning.
The restaurant is in a good location with views across the Thames, the food was tasty and well cooked but portions are on the smaller side so starters are not good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend if price is not an issue.
The evening we had booked for saw the restaurant absolutely full with some large groups which initially filled me with trepidation thinking the service would be slow, there might be a lot not available from the menu BUT it was absolutely splendid and I congratulate all the staff, both those we saw and those in the kitchens, for a truly enjoyable evening.
I have a flat round the corner in Queens Quay so it is great to have a restaurant of quality literally on my doorstep.
Our first visit to this impressive waterfront restaurant. The menu is well designed and imaginative. We opted for brill which could not be faulted. The vegetable accompaniments were again original and the kale with anchovy was outstanding. The service was very friendly and welcoming and above efficient. The waiting times between courses were judged very well. A highly recommended venue.
I hadn't been to northbank before but took a punt on the decent weather we'd been having and got a spot on their terrace for lunch. I lucked out, the weather was perfect and the food was excellent. The staff even bought out a new dish they were thinking of launching in between courses to get our view. The response from those around the table was a big thumbs up!
I'll definitely be going back to Northbank!
The whole experience was delightful. We took advantage of the Friday special and the steak was really delicious. The staff were charming and professional and took really good care of us.
Amazing view- right on the river by the millennium bridge with views of the Globe, Tate Modern and the Shard! Will definitely return.
We had a wonderful time at Northbank. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The food was lovely and service fantastic. I have not felt so looked after and welcome in a restuarant ever. My wife, baby and sister who's birthday it was loved it also. Would certainly go again.
Was there Tuesday evening, arrived early so had a drink in the bar first. I do love restaurants that have a separate bar where you can have a drink before you are taken to your table, it makes the evening feel more special. The service was very good, friendly but not over powering, food was delicious and wine excellent. I would definitely suggest this restaurant to friends.
