Had a wonderful brunch this past weekend. The service was great and the food was amazing! We usually come here for happy hour, but we will definitely be coming back for future brunches!
We had about 10 friends join us for dinner to celebrate my 65th birthday. The reception crew were friendly and offered to take the cake we had brought with us to a refrigerator. There was a small wait for our table however it was not due to anything the staff had done. Drinks were brought to our table quickly and while we’re ordering the waitress took her time with each of us to explain anything we had questions about. Valeria was just wonderful and delightful. The food was delicious. I had the salmon which was succulent and perfectly done. This was our fourth time at the restaurant and they made my birthday just wonderful! We will be back!
The chicken tenders were the tastiest thing we ordered. We also ordered a basic burger and pepperoni pizza. The drinks were quite tasty too...blueberry pomegranate margarita and local beer
Solid food. Good service. Mustard crusted chicken is my favorite.
Great server! My quinoa stir fry was delicous. It was a business meeting and the noise level was a little high.
I've always had a good experience at Not Your Average Joe's. The food is great with a lot of variety, especially for special dietary needs, the service is excellent and the location is very convenient to meeting friends and colleagues. A manager is frequently circulating, asking if everything is going well with our dining experience.
Great food, staff and ambiance. Loved the Waldorf salad, Chicken Parmesan and the Tenderloin were delicious❤
Mother's day at 6 pm reservations so they were busy, but we walked in and our table was ready. Rarely happens in the DC area so things started off very well. Food and service were both excellent. Love the new menu items with the lower calorie counts. It is nice to have a restaurant with quality food in a family friendly atmosphere.
The food was very good and the drinks were great. The place was a bit noisy for a dinner meal.
The restaurant used to offer the best New England clam chowder available, but the recipe now has been "gooped " up" with heavy instead of light cream, and it has lost a lot of taste. My manhattan and my wife's drink were only about 50% strength, and my scallop dish included a tasteless salad-like accompaniment. My wife's spaghetti squash dish was also tasteless. Service was good, but the ambient noise level was intolerable. Not going back.
It was Mothers Day so a very busy day in any restaurant. The food was very good, but took a long time. The service was barely mediocre. Normally Joe's is much better than this. Chalk it up to being short staffed on a busy holiday.
We had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch - the food (as always) was outstanding and the service even better. Great with our young children too. We will be back!
I really like NYAJ. I’ve been several times and usually have a delicious meal. This last time I had the chicken pesto and I will not have it again. The grilled chicken was over cooked, dried out, and difficult to cut and chew. My husband had the chicken shrimp bowl and he enjoyed it much. We also had the raspberry goat cheese salad which was so good.
I recommend NYAJ, just stay away from the grilled chicken.
Our dessert was slow coming, and without our asking, the manager apologized and coped our dessert. Very nice.
The belated birthday celebration was just as expected. I love the food and service at NYAJ's. I will make plans to visit the Reston location again soon.
We go to Not Your Average Joe's fairly often. Love the menu.
Food was delicious and our server, Tre, was amazing!
The food quality is a step above many of the other very good restaurants in the area.
Food was over cooked, dried out, burnt. Service was poor.
Wonderful food, excellent service and no wait(did have a reservation)
Great food and friendly service. Love the bread and dip!
Good place for a weekday, business lunch. Place is always busy; it's fairly large, so wait is not bad. Hosts and wait staff are very good and they try to accommodate seating requests. Service is prompt. Food is definitely much better than average. This is a regular go-to place for me.
Friends getting together to catch up. Food was great ... including new Vietnamese Salmon which one friend got and loved. Bread and dipping sauce always a plus. The only drawback, although not as bad as we suspected, was table was almost in the kitchen area but we still could visit.
Great service. Good ambiance. Only drawback for us was the inability to carry out a decent conversation. WAY-TOO-NOISEY!
We had a good meal, with tasty food and ample portions. Service was quite good...very attentive.
Came for the Easter Brunch, making a reservation through their easter brunch email on their easter brunch site. Got in and seated, and they were not offering the easter brunch - nothing said until then. The food is always great, but this was an incredibly disappointing experience.
We tried this for the Impossible Burger. We split an impossible burger, entree salad and roasted brussels sprouts. Everything was good except the Brussels. They did not seem well roasted to me, but more like pan sauteed and overcooked to bitterness. Beer was great, although they used the popular 14oz pint strategy like so many other bars.
Reception was very unprofessional and rude to say the least. Never again.
Had outstanding service and GREAT food. My wife an I usually split an entrée and this restaurant did not disappoint. They split the entrée in the back and brought two plates to the table. I greatly appreciate them doing this as we often wind up scraping half onto another plate brought to our table after the food arrives. The food was FANTASTIC and the BREAD!!! OMG!!
The food was not good. My veggies were WAY undercooked ( carrots and green beans) and the meal
( Sirloin Tips) was served on an appetizer size plate ( not exaggerating) and every time I tried to cut my meat the veggies spilled off the plate and on to the table. My husband ordered the Jambalaya and it tasted like tomato soup-zero spice. Wine was good and the server was very nice and kind. He did offer to send over the manager but at that point, we just wanted to pay and get home!
I think their food lacks seasoning and it is just ok
We started going to Not Your Average Joes when it first opened. We have always liked the food but lately it seems they are under staffed in the dinning room. It's usually just my wife and I so form now on we'll probably just set at the bar.
Food was great and service was good. Major complaint was that my reservations were screwed up. We were seated at high-top tables (which I specifically said no to when I made the reservation) and we were squeezed into a very tight space.
After sitting for 30 minutes, the waiter came to take our order. We seemed to be frequently ignored. We were sitting for about an hour before we received our food.
Great Experience! Will come back again soon!!
Went to dinner with friends and it was a perfect atmosphere
We were there with friends who were visiting from out of town. I had the we had lettuce wraps to start, which were very awkward to eat -- they weren't really wraps, they were like a salad strewn on top of lettuce -- impossible to eat with hands. but they tasted good. I had jambaliaya and my husband had the scallop pasta dish. both were very good. The only down side was that the waiter was not very attentive and his interpersonal skills were poor.
Good food, overzealous server was an annoyance. Good restaurant.
We eat here on a Friday evening at their busiest time; our service was amazing. Our food arrived in reasonable time and was delicious. The steak was a little tough, but tasty. The salmon was very good, and they asked us how long to cook it (that was a first for us). Great job NYAJ!
Great service provided by our server. Generous portions served with our order.
