Our first visit to Nouf Restaurant and what a good find. The portions were generous. A very pleasant man serving us and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fresh, tasty and excellent. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.
Very cosy and authentic Lebanese restaurant right by Victoria Station! The service was very good and attentive, the food was delicious and for very reasonable prices! Would definitely recommend and will go back too!
Very pleasant restaurant near Victoria. Lovely food although a proponderance of lamb on the menu. Very nice waitress. It was quiet but we were eating pre theatre. I would recommend.
Absolutely authentic Lebanese food - not like the street food version! Very pleasant staff and good value! This place has a very authentic and independent feel - not flashy and corporate. Would definitely go again.
Lovely Lebanese food 3 mins for Victoria Station! Run by a lovely gentleman.
Great service and very good location. The veggie options were lovely.
Lovely little spot. Super friendly and very tasty food. Very authentic. And the baklava is to die for :)
Lovely authentic Lebanese meal.
We ate here on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely service. The food was beautiful, we were all really happy with it. Lovely atmosphere. I would happily recommend if you want home cooked authentic real food.
Lots of choice for veggies too
Booked this for a lunch prior to going to a matinee show. The food was delicious, freshly made. Service excellent. It was sad to see that it was almost empty on a Thursday lunchtime, and it's definitely worth going to. Victoria is full of the usual chain restaurants now. Nouf was everything we needed - and we were supporting an independent business too. Go there!
Great atmosphere, lovely food and well looked after by the maitre d.
It was amazing. True Lebanese food with variety of choices and flavors. Would definitely recommend this cozy restaurant to everyone!
If you want to taste authentic Lebanese food Nouf restaurant is perfect - great food, lovely atmosphere & friendly staff.
Not a good experience apart from the hummus the food was diabolical, grilled veg not edible, spinach pastries like rubber. Bread not good and not very authentic. The Resturant was empty it should have warned us. The surroundings were tired and unappealing, and didn’t feel that clean. Where it is it should be a gold mine but I shouldn’t think many people make a return visit.
Great meze - especially the falafel.
Food was ok service was very lacking even though we were the only customers for most of our meal. Small and in need of refurbishment!
The Food was at no Fault, tasty Lebanese cuisine, however, the service was disappointing particularly when we asked to pack the food to take home, which was a lot, and the waiter did not understand what we asked and did not follow this through.
Some lovely food (including a really exceptional babaganoush) and decent value too - esp. for the area. Service could be slicker, but was charming and considerate enough. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Lovely food, bread served hot and fresh. The decor needs refreshing and the wine list seems to lack Lebanese wine, but otherwise thoroughly recommended
We turned up for a late midweek lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. however, we could not fault the service and quality of food and spent very enjoyable long afternoon, savouring a great variety of Lebanese food full of wonderful flavours, and quite different offerings to other Lebanese Restaurants I had eaten in before. The restaurant is dated, but that rather lends to its charm. I can imagine when it is full of guests there would be quite a nice atmosphere.
Great place for vegetarians, plenty of choice . The food was really tasty, great quality and well presented. Lovely transitional decor , friendly atmosphere and great service.
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Café Nouf. The owner and waitress were attentive. I had a Lebanese chicken that was nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. The falafel and baklava were delicious. Though the restaurant may look deserted, it is a place one should not miss when traveling to London.
Rather tired and unimaginative food. The restaurant also needs a freshen up
We were disappointed. Having invited travelling friends to join us for a meze supper near Victoria Station, we left disappointed and just a little angry.
Not wanting to spend £30 per head, we asked the waitress if we could just have some starters. She didn't engage with us at all, and simply called the manager over. His words were, "Don't worry! I'll sort something out!" Friendly. Helpful.
But ... there was no questioning us about which starters we would prefer, or the offer of advice that may have helped us to choose and confirm how many bowls we wanted to order. There was no indication of how many starters would be brought to the table! There was so little communication that it made us feel quite uncomfortable.
No-one paid us any attention except for bringing over approximately 10 meze bowls, all tasting pretty similar. Right at the end of the meal, a plate of chicken pieces was brought over, but by then we were ready to leave. The meatballs were good, though, give them that.
When we beckoned for the bill, the waiter took ages, and our friends had a train to catch. I therefore went over to the counter to ask if I could pay, and I was asked to sit down, please. I wanted to check that the manager had, in fact, kept his word, and that he had indeed sorted something out.
Sadly, not. We were charged full price for each bowl - plus the chicken which was called a main - rather than for the Set Menu of a set number of starters, without the main.
There was no compromise whatsoever, and the manager was unfriendly and off-hand, refusing to bow to my polite request to charge us less. "You asked for the chicken!" What on earth did that mean?!
I paid the bill. We won't be back. Ever.
Very good and tasty food, good service and ambiance , recommended to friends
I brought my Girl friend here last week and our experience was really great .
Cafe Nouf Restaurant has great and amazing selection of foods.
The food was tasty full flavour and the service was just great .
Worth every penny spent
Will come back again .
As a local I am always very dissapointed when I encounter a restaurant that really does not appear to care about its food, service or ambiance. We should have left when the traffic noise coming in through the open door drowned out our conversation. When someonne did arrive to serve us their apology appeared totally insincere. The last hope was that the food would make up for it all: it did not. The reviews from the three of us ranged from that was poor to that made me feel ill.
There were good reviews of this restaurant that lured us into trying something new. We wonder whether they are genuine.
I found the food very mediocre for the price. The mezzas were reasonably tasty but the lamb dish was very bland and disappointing. The ambience was also poor for a Saturday night. There were hardly any customers which is surprising for a Saturday evening but may be quite informative!
we arrived at 8pm to an empty restaurant which remained empty throughout our stay. we had the house wine which happened to be an Italiano Montepulciano which was the highlite of the night. we ordered our food my daughter had Fried Haloumi which was well overcooked and claggy, i had what was supposed to be flaky pastry cheese parcel, this came with a very hard pastry and was basically empty, very dry and uninspiring.
My daughter a veggie had Okra in a form or a stew with rice, she said the sauce was very bitter, i had the Lamb Kofte style in a tomato sauce which again was very weak and very bitter, the Lamb seemed to have been cooked all day long. We decided not to have dessert but were presented with a complimentary order of a baclava type of pastry which was actually very nice indeed.
So to sum up a very dull and uninspiring restaurant that was totally empty, food was below average and IF a true reflection of Lebanese food and culture I will not be venturing in another Lebanese restaurant.
Would I recommend it, I'm afraid not.
warm, welcoming and most unpretentious Lebenese restaurant a few minutes from theatres and station. We had an excellent pretheatre meal with very acceptable and keenly priced bottle of house wine.Very good value set menues too.Hope to return for a more leisurely meal before to long.
Our group had a great night last week - the service was really attentive (and very patient particularly as we all had difficulty remembering what we ordered!) and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!
We went in a on Fri for a pre theatre meal with a separate table of 3 as company. We left the restaurant with no guests probably says it all. We ordered a selection of starters and the only thing we were satisfied with were the falafels although they were slightly overdone. A lot of their starters were served on a bed of lettuce that seems to have been in the fridge too long. We had one of their minced kebab served with bread, the pattie like kebab was so dry it was like eating cardboard. My wife had a shish kebab that was similar and we felt a bit mugged when we could have opted for a kebab shop for much cheaper the price. If you want a good Lebanese meal then probably head towards the Edgware Rd, really surprised this place is still in business.
The service was good but I think the chicken was not fresh as it smelled funny and then my husband who had it has a bad tummy upset
This place was lovely for a quick lunch with friends. The service was quick and friendly. Good value for money. The food was good, however some of the main courses were slightly overlooked. Overall a great place for lunch and brunch. Worth a visit!
My wife and I chose this restaurant for its proximity to St James theatre. We had never eaten Lebanese food before and the waiter was helpful and patient while we chose from the extensive menu. The portions are generous and well-presented. The restaurant was fairly quiet - which meant that we could hold a conversation without competing against a background din! The bill was just short of £60 which is reasonable. We'd definitely return for pre-theatre at St James.
Very sad place. Warmed up stale food, overcooked chicken, absurd spices (for anyone familiar with the Lebanese cuisine), some tasteless courses. Maybe they just had a very bad day, but we're not going back.
A great find, really good food, very friendly staff (though perhaps not enough of them) very close to Victoria station. Would definitely go back, and definitely recommend.
Chose Cafe Nouf after searching for somewhere other than the usual chain offerings for a meal out with friends. On arrival, the external appearance wasn't great but we ventured in anyway, and inside was clean and comfy.
Waiter was exactly the right amount of attentive. We all went a la carte and paid £33 per head for 2 courses including 3 or 4 rounds of beers and service.
We were one of only 2 occupied tables in there from 6:30 til around 9:00 when we left, which seems a shame for a Saturday night.
This was my first taste of Lebanese food and based on this experience it won't be my last. For the uninitiated, if you like grilled meat, bread and dips you can't go wrong.
Lasy but not least - great location, short walk from Victoria station.
One of my regular haunts
Handy for lots of West London
Never too noisy, very good value for the location
More like the proprietor's front room than a restaurant
The food at Cafe Nouf is very good, but the service is better! We were stressed on arrival, and in a rush to leave to get to the theatre. Most of the group had never eaten Lebanese before and took an inordinate amount of time choosing from the menu. The waiter was charm itself, and handled all of the many queries with aplomb. I suspect that the youngest member of our group now has a crush. None of which detracts from the fact that the food is very good too. Highly recommended!
I've lived in Dubai and been to Lebanon so am used to good Arabic food. Food overall was tasty and good with reasonable portion size. Service was friendly and efficient. They had a problem with their water so we couldn't have any tap water but it was being fixed and as soon as the plumber had finished the waiter brought us some water. Only thing lacking was a bit more atmosphere.
