The ground floor of Devonshire Club is dedicated to drinking, dining and entertaining. The Club’s recently-launched restaurant Number Five is headed up by Executive Chef Adam Gray and serves a range of modern-British dishes. The 110 seating eatery is illuminated by floor to ceiling garden facing windows with sumptuous leather banquette seating and stylish tables and chairs. Number Five’s menu celebrates seasonality and food provenance and mirror Devonshire Club’s seamless fusion of history and modernity, with nods towards traditional East-London fayre complemented by offerings of a more contemporary cuisine. These new dishes use seasonal ingredients from the British Isles, executed impeccably without fuss whilst still displaying an essence of Adam’s personality – namely his passion for healthy, British food.

Lovely outdoor setting for a very enjoyable lunch with a couple of friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was quiet which suited us and the weekend brunch menu had a very good selection which we were all happy to choose from. Our service was attentive but not overbearing which was appreciated given there were not a lot of other lunchtime customers. Certainly hope to go again soon!

When it came to paying the bill was wrong, when we questioned it they got a calculator and acted as if we were lying. We then asked to split they bill across 3 but we’re all charged random amounts differing by £10. Very odd. Good food but not worth visiting because of rude staff.

Brasserie couldn’t locate our booking, despite the front desk managing to. They then took two attempts to seat us at a table, having to set a new table cloth for one of the booths. We ordered food and coffee which turned up in good time but the two bloody marys we ordered when ordering the food didn’t arrive until we’d finished eating, we had to ask twice where they were. We sat at 10:45am and were there an hour. From 11am we were the only people in there apart from the waiters and other staff, who were arranging tables for later. Would not recommend for early weekend brunch pretty awkward being the only ones there. All in all a bit o a let down for a 10 year anniversary brunch.

Very dissapointed by my brunch experience. The restaurant is beautiful. However, service was poor as was the food. Our waiter “forgot to put our order into the kitchen” he told us 20 mins after we ordered. 15 mins later there was still no sign of our food bear in mind it was pasta. After asking the manager where our food was it came Luke warm and the pasta was hard. I told the waiter who simple suggested ordering something else. As it’s a brunch menu one it shocks me linguini was such a challenge to get ready and there was no apology over this poor service. Very dissapointed as I had great expectations, they also ran out of oysters.

Thank you Devonshire club for a perfect Burns Supper evening. From the warm welcome putting myself and my cousin completely at ease and whole evening, authentic Burns night menu in modern /traditional settings. The piper playing at perfect intervals. Super Scottish treat.

Great restaurant and good food. Service needs a little tweak (been here 3 times and every time some part of the order taken wrong, item forgotten etc) but overall love the place
