Due to “covid rules” they no longer accept BYOB! Such a fun perk to coming here. Disappointed because this actually isn’t a new implemented rule and I have done byob at other restaurants this summer since outdoor dining has commenced. I asked if they could honor just this time, but no luck. Still a great dinner but beware if you were planning to BYOB like the good days! No one came to check on us after 2 hours. 4 or so tables got cleared before someone came back to us. The restaurant was not busy.
Great evening great food!
We went to the numero 29 on Carmine not first avenue. I did not know there were two of them.. But the pizza was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the 18 inch half cappriciosa and half regionale... The cheese was so incredible and the sauce, no skimping there. I have had the pizzas delivered to my home, but eating outside there is the key to the best pizza.
The pizza was excellent. the serving for 2 people was bigger than expected & it was excellent.
Great pizza, great salad, great drinks! Perfect summer spot.
Food is great but their menus were not updated and actually didn't have enough so we had to give up some of our menus to the adjacent table.
One of my favorite restaurants. All of the locations are incredible.
The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and the flavors that I was looking for. However the service was disappointing. When my party of four had arrived and placed our order, we were the only ones in the restaurant and by the time we had left only a few of the tables were occupied. Still our waitress completely forgot about one of the pizzas we had ordered to share as a table. When we asked her about it she just kind-of stared at us and wasn’t very apologetic. We ended up telling her to forget about it because our meal was almost finished anyway.
I used to frequent this restaurant but management and service was gone down hill and food is mediocre. I recommend going somewhere else with all of the other great choices in the upper east side.
Absolutely delicious pizza with a variety of toppings !
The service was very friendly and courteous.
Pizza is delicious but a bit pricey for what it is ...
We made a large last minute reservation near closing time on Christmas Eve and the staff could not have been more gracious or the food more delicious. We will go back over and over.
Just ok. Things that were on website were not offered. None of our food was hot. Mediocre tasting.
Not nearly as good as usual. Seemed to be busier than they were able to handle so both food quality and service suffered.
The most delicious mushroom truffle white pizza!
The pasta was a little too al dente but otherwise fantastic
Pizza was great but expensive
Restaurant was great there is just a $15 corking fee per wine bottle to be aware of!
Very overpriced for servings presented. Food was delivered very quickly but then we were abandoned by the wait staff and had to flag them down (with arms waving wildly) to get their attention. The food was virtually unsalted and we had to beg to get salt delivered to the table. A very underwhelming experience for a restaurant that is in a great location and very cute to look at.
The pizza was great. Like the ambiance. It was a rainy quiet night and it was definitely a bit hot in the space but we had a good time.
We didn’t have the greatest experience at this restaurant. The day we came it was gorgeous out; however our party of 6 was too large for them to accommodate outside despite three of the four outdoor tables being open. We ended up being seated close to the front of the restaurant and were able to take in the nice weather and outdoor ambiance. However our food came out at random moments with the pizza arriving before our appetizers and the risotto arriving as we were all wrapping up and getting ready to leave. For some reason the waiter was having difficulty generating our bill and after 20 minutes of waiting we were told we’d have to pay in cash. After much debate he finally said we could pay with credit card but we’d have to re-input everything we’d ordered into his terminal to generate a bill. Fine. It took all of five minutes and we were out of there. Unfortunately we will not be returning.
We sat outside where it’s light, bright and a great people watching spot. Inside is another story as I find it too dark. Pizza is delicious especially the Rustica & the bianco with mushrooms and peppers. It’s kind of pricey , $50 for a large flatbread pie.
The pizza was so good!
Everything delicious, great pizza, scrumptious artichoke salad, sinful small cannoli, and lovely Falanghina to complement it all. Warm and attentive service. Any doubt we will be back soon?
Great food but the staff was really terrible. I had to hunt them down multiple times. They started by bringing salads to the three of us that ordered them at the same time as everyone else’s entrees. It was awkward. They also refused to substitute out pasta sauces on my dish, weird. I had to get up to ask them for a second bottle of wine and then hunt them down to discuss desert. On a Friday night I might understand this, but it was Monday and they were not busy.
This is our favorite family restaurant. Good food, comfortable atmosphere and pleasant staff!
6 of us went for early sunday dinner to catch up on life......were never rushed and treated like regulars! the waitress made several suggestions, but we stuck with the family pie to share and a pasta dish she recommended......all delish! the blush sangria was excellent as was the house red........overall we would all go back!!
Great meal great food, brought out a lit tiramisu for my brothers birthday unexpectedly ! It was great and so thoughtful. Love this spot one of my favorites!!
The pizza here is glorious....if you really love good pizza, as I do, this is the best in the city. My friend and I shared one and we each had 8 amazing pieces of the Regina....
My one complaint was that there were two "moms", with extremely noisy, loudly yelling children, and the staff did nothing to modify their behavior.
The food is really tasty and fresh and simple like you would expect to find in actual Italy. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with the wood on the walls and the fun decoration, unpretentious and nice, and you can see the cook make pizza dough which is always entertaining. It’s actually a restaurant where you can hear yourself speak for the most part. Finally, service is really good and reactive. Will likely become a regular place for my husband and I to go on our date nights!
Eating at Numero 28,as opposed to having the food delivered is like night and day.Eating in is the only way to go.The bruschetta was excellent(2 orders) and the pizza was great.Overall, good eating experience. And my picky 11 year olds always like the food
Numero 28 is Numero Uno! Friendly, family feel. Cool place but warm. Great, no BS food. My second time there and my first was just a couple of weeks prior. Such a great asset to the UES. Love it. Thank you Numero!
Salad, pasta, and the pizza were all very good. The mussels/claims appetizer lacked flavor. Overall, very satisfied with the meal.
Ordered pappardelle, one of the special prosciutto pizzas and the ‘fish soup’ and while the pizza was lacking of flavor (taste below your average pizza) the pasta and the soup were pretty salty. And in the end the bill amounted to a much higher balance than what a casual everyday dinning merits. I’ll give them that the staff was insanely nice and the place is very comfortable, further, this is one of the few places in the city in which they don’t make you feel/know they want you out ASAP so that they can sit someone else.
We went with a big group and really enjoyed the family style long pizzas! The food was delicious!
The pasta was under cooked and cold. The pizza was great in presentation but lacking in flavor. Wines were subpar.
it was excellent
Favorite pizza ever!
The food was good, but do think it could be better. It was a little salty.
Great Pizza, Pastas and Salads. Will continue to return - also BYOB optional.
