Lovely restaurant , real Italian feel, would recommend
Lovely staff and service, food was very good just on the expensive side.
We had a lovely pre-theatre meal on the terrace. Service was 5* - originally seated outside but they moved us outside on request with no fuss. Delicious pizza, great Sauvignon blanc, table of 4 was less than £30pp for pizza and wine in a great setting. Would recommend!
Great food and beautiful restaurant. Portions are a little smaller than expected, but delicious. The restaurant is pretty but music inside is pretty loud. Our waiter got our order wrong a couple of times, but friendly nonetheless.
I love the pizzas that are usually in the menu and was v disappointed to find out that despite still being on the online menu they were not on offer due to the oven not functioning. I would have appreciated a note on the website particularly given it was not something that happened at the time we were there but an issue they were aware of
Very nice place and good food and service. Overpriced though. We came for a pizza but there were none on the menu and it didn't state if you could order sides - chips etc or more vegetables. But apart from that would return when pizza back on the menu
Really lovely waiters, amazing atmosphere on a nice quiet street. Food tasted great, it’s good value for money. Good portion size too.
Food was outstanding. Staff was very nice however the service was rather slow, we were told we had the table for 1 hour 30 minutes. Took a while to order so by the time we were served the main we only had 20 minutes left.
Had a dinner for two, pre theatre, inside. It was great - super friendly and nice staff, delicious food, shame there were not more people - definitely will go back.
Best pizza in London. I go there every week. Waiters are very professional
A bit pricey
Family Saturday dinner. Excellent food - nice atmosphere.
Few challenges with Covid restrictions and table setting. We were asked to move table before the mains arrived but staff were very apologetic about it and it wasn’t a big problem for us.
The menu portrays something new and different from other Italian restaurants sadly the food was mediocre at best
Pizza looked great but was just too thick and doughy and the special pasta of the day sounded fabulous but was thick, heavy and just really disappointing
Saving grace was the cocktail we had, very nice
Overall, expensive for poor quality Italian food
Service and staff were very good though
Sadly not worth a return visit
Always great food and outstanding service!
Really lovely meal tonight. Felt safe with social distancing, qr code menus and staff wearing masks. Food was tasty and interesting and was pretty good value. Service was very good (I think our server was new).
Had a lunchtime get together here. Informal but service and food was excellent. Pasta and pizza were both fresh and deliciously tasty.
We ate at O Ver on a Friday lunchtime during the heat wave so the restaurant was very quiet. The food was excellent, with some interesting choices on the menu. The involtini starter was one of the best I have ever had. The service was friendly and efficient and all staff were wearing masks. The location is excellent, on a quiet alleyway off the Haymarket, with plenty of outdoor seating. The only downside is the wine list, which is quite expensive, although the house white we had was great. Will definitely eat here again, though hopefully in cooler weather.
This was my first trip to the St James venue, excellent service, would recommend.
Deliciously fresh and inventive food, fine house wine and a splendid mocktail.
Great dinner last night. There was a slight mix-up with a glass of wine at one point, which was swiftly – and generously – put right by the charming waitress & manager.
Lovely food in a nice setting – I will be back!
Food is always fantastic at both St. James’s and Southwark. One of my favourite restaurants in London.
Food was amazing - best pizzas we’ve had!! The staff were so lovely and the location and atmosphere was amazing
Pasta was undercooked and crunchy, not al dente. Server wasn’t
Great food and really nice vibes. I recommend the selection of street food as a shared starter.
1. We were seated at this bizarre table at the back with the weirdest seating layout ever. It felt like they wanted us out of the way. I had a wall in between me and my girlfriend. I guess they didn't want to seat 3 people at a table that could seat 4? Felt a bit stingy.
2. The music was too loud and the choice of music was a bit baffling - 90s pop bangers did not suit the rather sophisticated decor the place otherwise cultivated.
The food was VERY bad. We ordered pasta and it wasn’t properly cooked, I had to chew it like GUM. I know what “al dente” looks like and it was definitely not it. We had carbonara which was the worst of my life, salty and amateur. My boyfriend has pasta if a meat sauce supposedly cooked for 12 hours, but in reality it was watery and with no flavor at all.
Very disappointing, especially considering each dish costs around £20.
I have been to many italian restaurants in London and this was by fat the worst.
I would like my money back.
Excellent Italian cuisine - properly authentic with high quality and fresh ingredients. Well informed staff with good recommendations.
I’ve now been to both locations and the experience was equally amazing each time. Service was friendly and attentive without being disruptive and the food was excellent both times! They offer different experiences/vibes so make sure to try both!
Great service from the moment we walked in. The food was delicious and exactly what I had hoped it to be.
Only small comment is the food prices are very slightly high. Would definitely recommend to friends & family.
Not great service. Not very attentive or helpful, food made it better. Also I booked mentioning it was for a birthday, which they acknowledged on entrance and didnt after that. No gestures at all even when the neighbouring table received complimentary after meal shooters
Perfect post-theatre place for our early Saturday supper; simple menu, but great choice, particularly if you like pizza. We don't but there was still lots to choose from, whether carnivore, or not. Great service, with knowlegeable and eager-to-please staff.
The best pizza and Italian restaurant in London!
I’m Italian and the food is properly Italian
I have enjoyed the Borough original so I was surprised by how poor the service and food at this branch were. The pasta was inedible because it was dangerously over-salted. When I pointed this out to a waiter, he didn't do anything.
However, an excellent pistachio pudding and good pizza make me regret the failure of staff to ensure customer satisfaction. The tables were only about 1/3 full, so staff had plenty of time to attend to us but didn't.
Not a good dining experience. Poor quality food and over priced. The broccoli was over cooked. The pasta was greasy. Portion sizes were small. We were still hungry after our 2 course lunch.
Service was slow - there were more staff than diners but still it took an age to get dinner. One table left while we were there as they got fed up of waiting. Pizza was actually good once it arrived.
It was a love experience, the atmosphere is perfect in there, nice chilled out with w touch of class. The service was great however the pizzas we order were very soggy in the middle. It has to be said though they did still taste great
Seated promptly and service was reasonably good. The appetizers were quite good but my pasta special was disappointing as the homemade fettuccine was a bit tough.
I previously went to the Borough Market
O ver and was keen to compare the two. The St James’ one didn’t disappoint. Food was excellent and a great location. Would definitely recommend
Absolutely delicious pizza and great wine recommendation
Great food service and ambiance!
Great place to meet and eat good Italian food in central London but off the busy roads.
