DELICIOUS and FUN evening. Awesome views of London and the food was very good. Excellent evening for a tourist like me.
Location is everything and I think the views over London are the main draw for this venue. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff well presented. I think the food and drinks are a little over priced but at such a location I wouldn't have expected anything else. Would not honour an OpenTable Dining Cheque, despite being previously confirmed over the phone with the restaurant, marking this on the booking and ensuring prior this venue was not listed on the Opentable opt-out list. However outside of this, a pleasant dining experience, although comparable to other similar standard restaurants excluding the view from up The Shard.
Sat brunch with bottomless drinks is a fantastic day out. We weren't rushed at all and it was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. It would be even better if there were a couple of options for which drinks to have but its a fairly minor request. Definitely a good one for a special occassion or just a fun Sat!
Obviously, you go for the view ... which really is breathtaking. But the food (dinner) and drink (cocktails, wine list) were EXCELLENT! We had an absolutely lovely meal, preceded by a delicious cocktail, then cheese and more wine. Two minor gripes: the starter was served before the wine (a pet peeve ... please, NEVER serve food with no wine on the table). And our bread, though warm and delicious, took a while to come out of the kitchen, which was mildly frustrating since our starters needed bread to go with them.
Generally, the quality of food and service is very high.
We were celebrating a special occasion, and I highly recommend Oblix for just such an event. Or even just to treat yourself to a nice evening!
Whilst we were lucky enough to be given a window table which affords undeniably spectacular views, and was perfect as it was my wife's birthday, the seating itself is really not great. It feels like normal height tables but way-too-low seats (comfy, sink-into seats) so it feels far more suited to snacking/sharing and chatting than it does a proper restaurant experience. I'm not complaining at the price at all but given that we spent over £400, we were definitely not expecting more of a restaurant feel to the eating arrangements.
Also, the tables are very wide so with four people sitting so far apart, and the high-level music (albeit excellent music) it's virtually impossible to hold a four-way conversation. As it was my wife's birthday and we went with friends, it was genuinely frustrating and quite disappointing.
Despite the excellent food, wine and impeccable service, the above points seriously detracted from our experience and we would not return for these reasons (unless there are other table arrangements we're not aware of).
The seating is very low; the food was generally sweet but okay and expensive.
Obilix West is definitely better.
Service was top, very good atmosphere, breathtaking view over London and amazing food. Unfortunately steak quality was poor. Everything else tastes amazing!
Great food and ambience overlooking the city of London. Nice spot for a special occasion dinner.
Service was great, atmosphere was great..but a little too pricey for what you got!
Reasonable price for an amazing experience and good food
Great service, amazing food but only slight issue was the music was a bit too loud
Diner with friends
Muy buena atención, comida excelente y los tragos tb!!
Food was really outstanding but it was a bit challenging to fully enjoy it: the trending obligation to have loud music playing was quite bothering for a dinner. I can understand that for a bar/club, but it's too much while you enjoy a meal and try to chat with friends/family.
Another downside of selecting a "trendy" place is the service quality. Even though we were told at the coat check that someone would guide us to our booked table, we were left standing in the entrance for 5/7 minutes without being attended for. Had to grad a server to ask, were told to head to the bar to wait, asked to another server who checked and gave us the available table in front of us, which was ready since we first arrived :) 2 minutes after we sat down, a server came with a dish and asked us if it was for us... We also ordered sparkling water and when our glasses were half empty, a server nicely refilled them... with tap water without asking... :) For the wine by the glass, stick to the 125ml as the more expensive 175ml we order we almost exactly as much as the 125ml...
One positive attention though: the room manager moved us from a center table to one by the windows when room was less crowded. Nice gesture.
To sum it up, great food, great view but the crew doesn't seem quite up to the task during peak hours. Book at 21:00 one a week day: there will be less noise and probably a more relaxed and attentive service.
Great place to spend an evening with friends and loved ones!!!
A specially steak for two rib eye was the best 😊🤗
Great place. Only disappointment was that despite a long list of gins to choose from there was not a single sloe gin option. I'd have thought a venue of this calibre would offer a sloe gin.
Proposal at the shard
Food quality and taste was just average.
Menu lacked of Innovation.
There was about 1 hour difference in service between our starters and main dishes.
I would compare it with any average high street restaurant nothing more and nothing less.
Service absolutely fantastic. They really look after you. I had my family coming from Brazil and the manager and the whole team have been incredible amazing. I'd definitely recommend Oblix not just for the view but also for the great experience.
It’s not the first time that I’ve been to Oblix Esst, but it was the first time for brunch. The food, the ambiance and the staff was just amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to have brunch with a stunning view!
Sommelier was fantastic & recommended a delicious red wine. Great food & great views too!
Great venue, good food. Perfect all round
The wait staff was superb - very knowledgeable about the menu and wines, gave us plenty of time to enjoy drinks before ordering then moved us to a fabulous table with an incredible view when it became available. Drinks were very expensive but other than that a perfect way to spend our 7th anniversary
Food and Service was Fantastic!!
Excellent service. Wonderful atmosphere. Food magnificent. Price reasonable. Overall faultless. Easy straight 10 out of ten.
Great place that first impression was just amazing but unfortunately my steak was over done but still well seasoned. Amazing experience definitely coming back very soon.
The views were amazing but we were disappointed with the service.
Food was nice, service at beginning was disappointing as they knew it was a special occasion and felt we dining at All Bar One on high stools! But it was rectified within 10min when I spoke to the manager
Sadly I won’t ever be going here again after this experience even though I’ve been going to Oblix now for several years. It was an awful abusive experience from the start... and yes I mean abusive! It started with me receiving several text messages asking for confirmation which I responded to and then two phone calls asking for my confirmation again. I understand that tables need to be managed however this was almost enough to put me off as it was incompetent administration not utilising the tools they have in place. Then on arrival we were dropped off at the bar as we waited for our table. I understand this process however given you are inviting many people in to drink only at the bar, this can be very upsetting to people coming in as we were constantly asked to move so non table booking visitors could get drinks. People were getting angry! We were sat at our table next to the drinking table and it was another new challenge of people bumping us as we ate... we were moved thankfully to the window but then came the worst part ... people who aren’t eating were allowed to walk up to our table and literally lean over us as we ate... the staff try to ask them not to but with how busy they are this is nearly impossible to manage given the volume. After about 20 or so person to do that to us I asked a lady and gentleman to please not lean over me as I was eating and she then yelled at me and called me the most disgusting swear word you can imagine. I had to ask the staff to please ask her to go away which they did and what looked like gave her a drink to calm her down. They then came to us and tried to reduce the bill which I refused. You can’t buy my view of Integrity. Throwing money at the fact I was assaulted during my dinner is offensive. This place has become a tourist trap and clearly doesn’t care about regular visitors or the safety of the people onsite. It is an accident waiting to happen... sadly although the food was lovely, this turned me off for good...
Very rushed service. Brought mains before starters were finished.
Absolutely stunning and the food was delicious.
Awful service and snobby staff
My pastor’s b’day
Great experience on the whole. The restaurant was busy and service on the drinks was quite slow but food service was fine.
Music through the meal was great ( for us oldies as we were celebrating a 50th) but got a bit more trendy and youthful towards the end when the DJ came on so we decided to move on.
Can’t beat the location though and the quality of food was very good.
I was absolutely shocked at the lack of labelling of the food at the Brunch on a Saturday. How can you have a Caesar Salad that has Ham in it not mentioned anywhere on the sign.
Had a appalling experience where the manager who thinks he's the only 1 who seems to understand about running a restaurant.
I've told all my friends to avoid this place like the plague rubbish value for money and the staff attitude stinks. Not only will I not be returning but nor will any of my friends and associates.
It's such a shame that such a special day was spoilt by suck stinking attitude of the manager.
Came to London for my birthday from the states. Made my reservation for Oblix East. Told them it was my birthday when we got there. Which they said “happy birthday”. Which that was it- no celebratory cake or ice cream. Food was decent. Menu on opentable is different pricing than what is at the restaurant. Had sea bass- had bones in it. You’re paying for the view and to say you’ve eaten at The Shard and to take pictures.
Lovely treat with splendid views, great food & friendly customer service. Slightly pricey but well worth it every so often. Would go again.
