Overall, Oblix was an experience and the view from the restaurant was spectacular so I can see why many people would come here. However, for a Monday evening I felt the service could be better especially charging 13.5%. I didn't feel the every waiter were welcoming, there were some nice waiters but some looked like they didn't want to be there.
Service was superb and the food was delicious.
Excellent view of St Pauls.
Best to go as it is light and then turning to night time. Best of both worlds.
As is often the way, vegetarian options in top restaurants are very limited and very bland, particularly disappointing when you are paying top money! My husband enjoyed his food more than I did although my starter was delicious. The pasta maincourse really wasn’t exceptional by any means and was expensive for what it was. I’m blessed to have a good cook for a husband and his food is significantly more tasty but mainly due to making effort in providing something with flavour and thought put into it. Service was fine and naturally we would have preferred a window view but understand not everyone can have the best views! Pleasant evening but wouldn’t rush back!
Excellent experience from start to finish! The service was very efficient and quick. The food was superb, from the starters (we had the wonderful Truffle flatbread and Burrata) to the main course (we had Bone in rib-eye quite excellent). The sommelier was extraordinary good!
Great experience and food! Would definitely go back!
At the entrance we were met by two charming welcoming greeters, shown to the panoramic "east" bar area where we were able to select our drinks and relax whilst taking in the views from a comprehensive listing; later we were ushered to the restaurant area on the west side. The menu selections (starters, mains, & dessert) suited us perfectly, the views were great, and the waiting staff were attentive without being intrusive. We had a most enjoyable lunch and our visit was thoroughly enjoyable - definitely recommended.
It was good. We had a window which was nice for the special occasion.
Was great service from Becky and some good food! Best view!
We came to the restaurant for my husbands 50th birthday. I was hoping for a memorable meal with our two friends. Sadly we arrived 20mins late due to a crash nearby. I did call ahead to explain this. On arrival We were immediately told that we could only order two courses. As it was a high end restaurant and a Saturday evening. I understood this and said that this was fine.
The bad bits :Sadly though, we were rushed terribly with our two courses. Spending in total 1hr 15 mins at our table (spending £300).
- seating and tables are ‘pack them in’. Uncomfortable close. We got very friendly with our neighbours.
- Extremely noisy due to the above.
- The food wasn’t overly hot. The new potatoes mushy inside and the chips (if you look on restaurant photos above) They looked and tasted like normal supermarket chips. For the price we were expecting made chips. Double fried or similar.
The duck was very fatty, even by a ducks texture.
- I asked for a choice of white wine to go with my meal and the staff member rattled of 3, Chardonnay, Pinot...Nothing inspiring there.
We didn’t complain on the evening. As we quickly left on our conveyer belt, staff wouldn’t have been able to hear our complaint in any case. We were happy to leave. Almost ecstatic.
- As for the view, which i gather is the main selling point of the restaurant. Their isn’t one unless you luckily bag the minimal amount of window seats.
- you enter the ground floor via ‘airport style’ full security set up,including bodyscanner (which I have no complaint with whatsoever) However, what I do have a complaint with and it could pose a security risk to both staff and diners. Was that my husband was wheeling along my metal folded mobility scooter and I was ushered through the scanner with my metal walking stick (which I pointed out to the staff member) . The scanner rightly beeped at both of us and we were allowed through. A better suggestion would be to have a wooden stick at the scanner to borrow, metal item apart
Très longue attente avant d’être servi. Le repas était correct sans plus. Jolie vue sur Londres
No one to take your coats had to ask. Our first table was awful with bar stools and kitchen noise. Moved to another table with great views. We had to ask twice for the wine list. Didn’t have our selection so sommelier chose and that was corked. We chose another. Starters arrived but nothing exceptional. Main course of black cod arrived luke warm with a spoonful of tinned sweetcorn and a parsley leaf. Our french fries came but vegetables didn’t. We asked waiter where they were but by the time he reported back we had finished the fish. He apologised. The icing on cake was when a waiter started pouring a fizzy wine from another table into my husband’s expensive glass of white burgundy. No offer of another glass of wine, he just walked off. This restaurant needs to up its game considerably. It’s charging high end prices for rubbish food and the service is diabolical. It should be avoided at all costs. It was my birthday but it was never even mentioned. The whole experience was very, very disappointing.
Our experience at Oblix West was simply amazing! From service to food, everything was incredible and the restaurant was even able to accommodate our special request which made the night even better! This was my first time and I can tell you that Oblix West is now a MUST every time I am in London!
The ambiance was brilliant and perfect for a birthday meal. The food was served after an hour and the waiter seemed quite busy and inpatient. However, the food was delicious and I am very glad to have chosen this restaurant for a celebratory meal.
We ve been for afternoon tea and the sandwiches was not good at all my wife almost feel sick
Beautiful views, beautiful food, an absolutely delightful evening.
We arrived about 20 mins late which wasn't a problem. Was given a table by the window with a beautiful view of the city. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was spot on. Can't wait to book again
Food was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. Service nothing to be proud of. I won't return.
The food and service was good, but it was too loud and the music was high
We were seated far away from the windows, close to the run way of the service. We order the signature menu, who was disappointing, only the dessert, created gluten free was the high light. I think it is better to go with the menu and not given menu alternatives.
1 year anniversary with my gf and everything was super
nice... with a service going definitely the extra mile and surprising us.
The atmosphere was fantastic, made even better by the view of the city. Couldnt have asked for a better evening!
Went there for a birthday dinner with my partner who ordered his steak medium to well but when it arrived was more rare but still very delicious, when the waiter asked if everything was ok we mentioned that the steak was underdone & when we came to pay they generously deducted the coffees & gave us complimentary chocolates & an added bonus deducted the service charge which I thought was a lovely gesture. Will definitely go again - the views are to die for!
Great place to go. Started off at the bar in Oblix East and then on to our table in Oblix West. Service and food were excellent and we were lucky enough to get a window seat which was a nice touch for my girlfriend's birthday. We'll definitely go there again. Loved it!
Went for my sons birthday. He had a lovely time. The oblix bar is lovely with amazing views. We had then seafood platter to start with and steaks for main both of which were amazing. Will be back!! All with an incredible view !!
Excellent restaurant and bar. Food was amazing and service was really friendly.
The food and service was amazing and the atmosphere calms and intimate. The only thing I would say is that it was a special anniversary and we mentioned this on the booking. Would’ve been nice if they could’ve done a little extra. Nonetheless, everything was great!
Cool view, great food and service
The food was not really as I expected. The lobster was overcooked, the sauce was way to simple (for lobster). Green beans taste and presentation was poor. Fried fries weren’t crispy at all (easiest thing to manage).
Overall there is a lack of creativity and they shouldn’t present themself exclusive, as the expectation get higher before food has been served.
Awful acoustics, bad service and dry disappointing food, the bar area was better.
This was booked for a birthday meal. Unfortunately we arrived slightly late for the booking (however within the 20 minute time frame). Upon arrival the host who took us to our seats reminded us that we were slightly late and that the table needed to be back by a certain time.
It was therefore completely unnecessary for the waiter to continuously reminded us as well throughout the meal. In fact when it came to ordering dessert the waiter handed us the menu and told us that we had 1 minute to order desert otherwise we wouldn’t be able to have any.
It’s a shame that the waiter felt it necessary to continuously remind us throughout the meal and it unfortunately ruined the atmosphere as we felt rushed. Sadly a very disappointing birthday meal.
We really loved it. A tad pricey but I would go back
We ordered a porter house wagyu beef for two and were told it will take 45 minute to cook . So we took out time and ordered some starters after 55 minutes we were told that our order did the reach the kitchen !!! So we had two choice either chose something else or wait another 44 minutes .
It was really a pity we were looking forward to the Wagyu beef and at the end had to chose something else .
The manager was very apologetic I know this things can happen . Appart from that the food was delicious and service good . Not sure I will go back any time soon
We were extremely disappointed with the service and quality of the food. Very pretentious
We ate all the food and got very full. Super attentive staff and amazing views
Fantastic attention to detail attentive but not over bearing, food quality was outstanding as was the service.
It’s kind of like a bucket list thing... it’s worth going to the Shard and eat out at Oblix for the view and the experience, other than that the service level is below average. The food wasn’t a great culinary experience either. When we arrived the “door lady” wasn’t the most polite and welcoming person. Our waiter rushed us to order drinks and food. When the food was served he never once asked or remembered who ordered what meal. We had to swap plates around so everyone got what they ordered. The only good thing about my visit at Oblix that we had a window seat. We tried to make the most out of it but I wouldn’t go back there again. We did not ask for the bill it was put on the table as a hint that our time was up which I totally understand but can we not be told in a polite way?
The service was so poor. The waiter was not attentive and we felt rushed throughout the night. The mains arrived when we were still halfway through the starter AND before we could even order drinks.
Mild improvement on food . Great new decor!
Outstanding service and exquisite food in a fantastic location with a hell of a view. Couldn’t be better in any detail.
