Steaks were overcooked, waiter uninterested and standoffish, lovely architecture, great drinks. But truly underwhelmed by overall experience.
Great experience and the seafood was very well prepared.
Had to ask for silverware after appetizers were served.
Had to wait for 30 for main dish while the place was not that busy.
After didn't even feel like asking for the dessert menu.
You pay $$$$ for the experience and there was no such.
The Seared tuna melted in my mouth- absolutely amazing. My wife had the salmon Loui and she loves it!! Service did lack a bit but food is worth it.
Very busy and under staffed but the restaurant was beautiful and food was good. Very expensive but worth it for celebrating a special event!
Thankful for being open early on Mother’s Day.
The food was very disappointing. The cut of steak was not what was described in the menu. The fish was over cooked snd dry and was also of lower quality.
Celebrating Graduation from Northeastern with parents and grandparents. Will definitely go back.
Food was excellent overall. Only complaint is that the swordfish tasted like it was previously frozen and not fresh. Everything else was great.
I dined here with the family for Mother’s Day on a Saturday night. The ambience is amazing. The restaurant is decorated really cool and it has a classy laid back vibe. Also, our server Francisco was a great server who was very attentive to our every need. The food was very good although the portions on the steak were a little smaller then we expected. My wife had a filet that was a little over cooked, however my tuna entree was excellent. I also had the shrimp and grits appetizer was excellent and the shrimp were huge! Which was why it was a little downer that my daughters filet with shrimp had much smaller sized shrimp. Overall, a great cool dining experience but the prices based on what we had for food, seemed a little pricey even for Boston. But a great night out regardless.
Oceanaire is incredible. Wonderful, fresh food, and the service was a joy. Love this place
service was amazing food was amazing atmosphere was amazing we'll definitely be back soon
This place is consistent. Not cheap, but always excellent quality seafood and top fight service. First time in Boston version. Great room. Same excellent service.
The food is very good but it's pricey. We didn't feel that the food was so much better that it deserved the high price tag; we feel that it's because of the location in the financial district. Great service and a really neat ambiance.
Outstanding service, the food and drinks were fantastic, and the ambience was romantic. Excellent spot for a date night.
Celebrated my partners birthday - we had a more than fabulous night! Food was amazing!!! And our server Enrique was impeccabile! Highly recommend... ask for Enrique!
It was absolutely amazing, the quality of the food was exceptional, could not ask for anything better.
Food was fantastic
This was our third dinner at Oceannaire in the last 9 months. Each time was excellent. The food and ambiance has been perfect every time. The service on our recent third visit was a little slow due to them being short on staff that evening, but that would not deter me from going again in the near future.
Always excellent service, food and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this outstanding restaurant to anyone looking for a comforting dinner experience.
Outstanding food, service, and sensory delight. Great people working there have us meaning to life again.
The food was excellent and the service was very good but a little delayed at times due to several large birthday parties taking place.
We really enjoyed our dinner and drinks at Oceanaire. Most of my party ordered the Salmon Louie and spoke highly of it while I ordered the Crab cakes, best I’ve had for sure. Although there were a lot of people it did not seem like it as we were all spaced out and noise was not unbearable. We felt like we had a private dinner based on where we sat and how we felt. Service was good too.
We had a great evening and will return. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful but
the meal was slow to arrive. Other than that it was good, pricey, but good.
Portions could be a bit larger.
I consider the fact that they keep their full menu online and have a dramatically reduced menu once you get there to be disingenuous.
The service sucked. I asked at the big stuffed lobster come out with the claws cracked and they were not. The lobster was definitely over cooked. I would have sent it back however everyone else at my table was eating and it clearly would’ve taken so long to get it fixed.
The oysters did not taste at all fresh.
The calamari was not bad.
I had wanted to go to Ostra but the one of the people in our party goes to Oceanaire when in DC and that’s how we ended up there.
I have tremendous sympathy for what restaurants have gone through the last year and I do what I can to support them but this was a rip off.
Love this restaurant. Impeccable service, the food is top notch and the ambiance is comfortable and muted.
Probably the the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time.
Cool, upscale place. Food, drinks, and service were very good. Will be back.
We started with the Oysters, which were fabulous. We then ordered the sea food boil & the sea food salad. Our meal started at an 8.6 and quickly went to a 3. The sea food salad was awful. The boil was ok- super salty and the potatoes weren’t done. Our waiter was great.
First time eating here and i had a great time. The only downsize, my fiancé and i food was extremely salty.
We went here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We did not initially make a reservation as it was a last minute decision. There is no parking ,except street parking. It was about a 10 min walk from where we could finally find a spot.
When we arrived, we were told it would be a 15-20 min wait and we could sit at the bar. After 20 mins passed, I made a reservation on opentable. After another 10 mins went by, I asked the maître d how much longer it would be since we were not put on a list and were not given any updates whatsoever. She said she could seat us right now, which I found odd since the seat she took us to was empty for the last 10 mins or more as we could see it from the bar. Not a very good system at all. I advised I made the reservation and she checked us in under the reservation anyway.
After that ordeal, the waitress was very nice, the food was very good and the drinks were delicious. My girlfriend had a fun time and nothing was going to spoil her night but the way we were treated at the front desk left a sour taste in my mouth, especially paying around $200 for a dinner for two.
The lobster was a little burnt to both of us but the waitress promised that's the color it looks like after being steamed. I have had lobster countless times and never saw that before. It tasted great even though the presentation could have used some help.
The seats were extremely comfortable and the décor immaculate. We were lost in the flavors of the fried calamari and the shrimp cocktail. Honestly probably the best I have ever had.
If the lobsters were presented in better aesthetics and maybe even the tail out and the seating process better managed, I would have given 5 stars. Probably will not come back here except for the amazing apps.
Yummy food. Service a little slow but we were in no rush, hence worked well. Would dine there again.
Our first dining experience to Oceanaire Seafood Room! Have been to Boston many, many times and how we missed this is beyond us! We agreed our dinners here are in our 10 top best meals EVER! Thank you for the wonderful service, beyond excellent food and such an enjoyable experience!
Best efforts during Covid for sure. It’s hard during Covid to be at two tables for a party of seven for Easter but we made it work! Food was pretty good, pricey with no sides at all but overall solid. Cool retrofitted bank location.
Easter Sunday & it was fa
This is the 2nd time we visited last month and although bot of our fish were delicious, mine was not hot and my wife's mashed potatoes were cold. The restaurant did get very busy being a Friday night, but our tab was over $300, so I don't think that is an excuse. It may not have been the kitchens fault because the service definitely got worse when the restaurant got busier.
This was a really great meal, waiter was terrific, food was very memorable.
The restaurant was beautiful, the food was really good and our server Raquel was nice and cordial. Now, the hostess gave us the WORST table in the restaurant. The worst table. In an isolated room, no view to the outside and the view to the inside of the restaurant was blocked by a wall. We went to the restroom after our dinner and we saw the whole place, we definitely got the worst table in the whole place. If not for that it could’ve been the perfect dinner.
Great dinner in Boston during the pandemic.
I love this place! Best place to eat in Boston! :)
