Excellent food, service, and great place to take friends!
The service was great and as always the food was delicious
The Oceanaire will not disappoint. The seafood was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our server took great care of us and the experience helped us decompress from a hectic week. Have a cocktail at the bar before settling in for dinner to extend the experience.
Food was delicious. Unfortunately our server dropped it off and disappeared for 20+ minutes and the food was partially wrong.
This was my first time at Oceanaire. I booked it for my birthday dinner. When I say it was a great experience from beginning to end. It was!!!
I enjoy everything from the hostess to the bus boys. Definitely would be going back!!
Thank you oceanaire for making my 26 bday a great one!!!
Great food and great service - consistently.
My go to restaurant in DC.
Excellent food and superior service!
Pino and Mauricio were fantastic as always. They could give lessons on how to make a great experience, an excellent experience!
It was 3 hours and 45 minutes from the time we sat down until we got our check. The last 5 minutes or so the waiter was having idle chit chat away from our table. He apologized a few times for his tardiness but that hardly made up for the slowest service I can ever remember. Other tables came and went while endured this experience. The food was OK but not good enough to want to come back
Food great service great somewhat noisy
Our server was quite busy with other tables, and it was 45 minutes from the time we sat down until we ordered. He did apologize, which was appreciated. After the entrees arrived, one item required two requests, and another never came at all. Some in our party enjoyed their entrees, but my mahi mahi was way too well done (although the bacon vinaigrette was absolutely delicious). We've been to Oceanaire many times and have always had a fabulous time and an exceptional dinner - until this visit. It wasn't a bad dinner, just disappointing. We knew the prices going in, and for paying that much money, we just expected so much more.
It was a good and wine pairing event.
It was fabulous! We had a wonderful time! The wine and pairing were excellent and the open seating allowed us to meet some terrific people!
Had a wonderful dinner for my wife;s birthday! Looking forward to going back soon.
Absolutely amazing. Food was awesome.
Will be a returning customer.
The food and the service were outstanding, as always.
My lunch experience at Oceanaire Seafood Room was outstanidng. One of my favorite restaurants. Our server was knowledgeable about the specials and the overall menu. She was friendly, bubbly and attentive. The food was delicious. Highly recommended.
I was very disappointed with the African prawn in my combination crab cake scallops and asparagus Chef Specialty. Oceanaire is one of my favorite dining experiences and tonight disappointed from an over cooked very tough prawn to a very bread dense little lump crab cake.
The waiter did a very poor job introducing my quest to the menu and made assumptions because we asked for separate checks. Probably will not come back. I had to ask for water numerous times. Very disappointing
I always try to have at least one meal here when in DC. Best seafood anywhere.
Yummy oysters. Great selection. Super friendly bar with great bartenders. It is expensive though.
Attentive service and delicious food. The grilled octopus was our starter. Then shared a beet salad. I had ahi tuna and my friend has the sea bass special. A side of Brussels sprouts. And finished with key lime pie. Everything was tasty. And we left stuffed. We will be back again.
It was a two hour dinner for salad and entree. The food was food good but the service was slow for a Tuesday evening.
The food was excellent and the service was perfect. A great dinner to celebrate our first anniversary. The Baked Alaska was delicious, but the presentation was even better; its the whole reason we came here and we were certainly not disappointed.
Fabulous service and great food. Not to be missed!
Good all around
Food was great and we had a wonderful server who was very professional and personable. Prices higher than our typical budget, but worth it for a date once or twice a year.
The menu is plentiful and varied, and the portions are generous. If a fish cannot be properly filleted at the table, it should not be offered whole. The wine selection should only include the very best at that price!!
A nice white table cloth type of place. Service is excellent. The menu is pricy but the food is fresh and delicious. After being seated & putting in our drink order, we were given a nice, warm crusty bread and a veggie tray to munch on while narrowing down our menu choice. Martini lovers, be sure to ask for the bleu cheese stuffed olives! Timing was well done after we explained we were trying to make a opening curtain at a nearby theater. Noise & eyeball pollution are an issue since the bar with multiple TVs is open to the dining room Overall a yummy place to splurge on dinner. Wish they had happy hour, it would be a local fave.
Excellent food and service
It’s clear they get very fresh select seafood, but it’s not clear they know how to cook it. Everything was just...fine. Scallops lacked a proper sear. Shrimp were over cooked. Even the steak was dry. At this price point, I think it’s appropriate to expect better. Nevertheless the service was excellent and the private dining room perfect for the occasion.
Always a favorite when in DC. Grey Goose martinis and Ahi tuna!
Food was good but you certainly pay top
$ for it
Took my wife there for her birthday... absolutely fantastic food, service and ambience.....best restaurant in DMV....
The food was fantastic. We had wonderful service. And the desserts were huge. I would definitely recommend it
Good and service were excellent but pricey.
We will be back. Amazing food, truly the best seafood in DC.
Shrimp & Grits were great! Blackened tacos were a little salty though. Service was very good and menu has lots of options. All in all, love Oceanaire.
