Oceanaire Seafood Room - Hackensack
We always enjoy the food and great service at the Oceanair.
Always a great experience here. Food is beautifully presented and served. It’s a high end chain restaurant so the food is always consistent - but it can be boring as a result so this isn’t a place to go on a regular basis - but for a special occasion it’s perfect.
The waitress was excellent. The rewards program is a big incentive to come, as I had $25 on my account and an additional $25 for my birthday! Been coming for years, first when it was MaCormick and Schmicks, and now as Oceanaire. Also Enjoy the chart house and Mortons. Keep the rewards program going!
We had a special meal at Oceanaire for our anniversary. Food and service (Julio to great care of us) were fantastic, and is what one should expect given the prices.
We love dining here. The food is very good. Everything came out fresh and hot. Service was good. Also love the ambiance!
The Food was excellent! I had Clams Casino which was heavenly! Followed by Halibut with Scallops! 😋. It seemed like our server had other tables on the other side because she would leave for 20 minutes at a time. For the this type of restaurant I would expect the water to be poured as soon as we sat down, instead, It was about 10 min before we got water. I get it’s a busy Saturday, but the service could have been way better. The food again was excellent and for that I would return again!
Great seafood and great service
I have been to Oceanaire a couple times and have had great experiences. The servers are friendly and attentive. The food is wonderful and I love the raw bar. I personally like the shrimp and grits and crab cakes. I would recommend Oceanaire for great seafood and a relaxing atmosphere.
Always one of our favorite restaurants: food, ambiance, service, the staff, everything.
Outstanding quality of service and value. This is the second time we took advantage of the labor menu..
Evening was wonderful. Server was the best. Special was great. Food was delicious although not as good as previous.
Great food and value for the Labor day special
Always a delicious dinner and attentive wait staff
We just love this restaurant! & we dine here often.
The food quality is excellent, the ambience is comfortable , the music fits the mood but the one thing that make this place a click above is the way they make you feel welcomed while you dine.
Last night we celebrated my wife’s birthday with her family & I called ahead & spoke to Chris and told him that a few people have hearing issues & that we were also celebrating my wife as a cancer survivor so I want her 75th to be special.
On arriving he escort us to a their party room that we had all to ourselves!
Thank you Chris & the entire staff for making this a special birthday for a special woman !
Food is great
Steak was awful. Over seasoned and chewy. The octopus was also hard and chewy. The calamari tasted good, but was far too breaded. No one even asked us if we enjoyed the meal and we didn’t even get asked if we were Landry’s members.
Fabulous, as always! A beautiful environment, incredibly fresh seafood, imaginative menu - and the BEST staff from servers to management (and everyone in between!). Every day is a special occasion when dining at Oceanaire.
Excellent seafood dinner for a party of four on a Friday night. The clam chowder, fried calamari, shrimp scampi, salmon, and mako shark were delicious. Our waiter was helpful, prompt and courteous. For dessert two in our party had the baked Alaska which our waiter added a flame to, just like that famous dish from weddings in the past. The sorbet was light and refreshing for mself and my husband as we were quite full from the dinner. We will return.
We dine here often as Landry members but our server was not efficient this time. She removed my half finished martini glass in error (we requested she bring it back), she offered me substitute vegetable and then we were charged for it (corrected when we brought it to her attention), we were handed another diner's check in error, we were not presented with hot towels at end of meal as were other diners...all in all the meal was and ambiance was great as always.. just the server left a lot to be desired. Sorry to have to have to report this but I'm being honest.
We will definitely return....no fault of Oceanaire.
My experience at Oceanaire continues to exceed my expectations. Flavorful food, great service, timely delivery, and attentiveness from all staff.
Our waiter was very good. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and considerate of our time there. He didn’t rush us at all. The food was delicious. It came out in a timely manner and everything was cooked perfect!
A group of us went for their summertime lunch special. It was a great value, many choices and nice size portions. The wait staff was very accommodating.
Oceanaire is our favorite Bergen County restaurant. Great for every day dining and all those special occasions. The atmosphere is sophisticated, yet informal. The lighting and space between tables affords a certain intimacy lacking in many establishments. Our fish was perfectly prepared, as always. To our delight and surprise, we were presented with baked Alaska to celebrate our anniversary. A perfect ending to a magical evening.
Our first visit and we will return!
The crab cocktail is the best item on the menu !
Service was outstanding as usual but the lobster roll was a bit undercooked. Other food was terrific.
I reserved an early evening reservation for my wife and I based on the National Oyster Day promotion advertised on their website. When we arrived, on time and with our names given, we were asked whether we wanted to sit in the dining room or bar area. I specifically asked if this affected our ability to partake in the promotion, and was told no. After getting settled in, ordered drinks, we were told we could not order the oysters per the promotion unless we sat in the bar area. Not happy, but since we wanted the $1 oysters we moved.
In all fairness, the oysters were excellent, as was the grilled octopus, although there were too few octopii and too many potatoes. Escargot, and bacon tacos were decent, if not stand-out.
Our waitress tried hard, at first was very good, but got confused more than once.
Overall, I am most dissatisfied with the management, as the mishandling of the promotion (not a sign or mention until I brought it up) and actually making us move our table did not sit very well. To top it off, they told OpenTable we did not show up. We still spent $200, which was decent for what we received due to the oyster promotion; at full price this would have been a disaster.
Consistently good dining experience.
High quality food and preparation in a quite atmosphere. Not in inexpensive but very satisfying dining experience.
Oceanaire continues to serve the highest level of fabulous and imaginative dishes. This time we ordered perfectly prepared crab cakes and a wonderful sushi roll that rivaled any we have tasted in our travels. Our waiter, Ray, and manager, Rocco, raised the level of service from mere excellent to superior. Even the cappuccino deserved kudos! Outstanding experience!!!
Great service, great food. Would recommend to friends and family.
Beautiful ambiance...lovely banquet seating..great service. We both ordered halibut entrees...excellent. Enjoyed my favorite for dessert...affagato. All in all a wonderful dining experience.
Excellent food, great service and nice atmosphere. You truly get what you pay for!
Our waiter Steve was very attentive
Our waiter was very sweet. Appreciate they made my partner's bday special. Will return for sure.
Oceanaire continues to amaze. The choice and quality of seafood is always prepared fresh and with great imagination. The management and wait staff are always personable and professional. Desserts are awesome as are the selection of wines. And who is not impressed by the sophisticated decor. Most highly recommended for all occasions!
We enjoyed the food and our server Julio took great care of us!
Thursday night and even though the restaurant was sparsely sat, our waiter interrupted us repeatedly to take our order, and it was not like we sat there for 1/2 hour before ordering our meal, we were just talking and enjoying our cocktails. The food was good, not great but good. However, the pricing across the board is disproportionately high for the quality of food and overall experience. Quite disappointing and probably why on a Thursday night the place was a virtual ghost town, I wouldn’t go back.
