Rare to find somewhere that still has a good atmosphere and vibe during the restrictions - OKO is an exception to this. Ryan our waiter was very helpful and attentive.
Our portions were huge which was unexpected. They asked if we were celebrating and when we said it was our anniversary they bought out a smoking chocolate cake which was a lovely touch. Food was tasty.
Very good place to go for celebrating an occasion and/or when you feel like dressing up a little.

The food was absolutely gorgeous. The rock shrimp was one of the best i have ever tasted & i have had this dish from several high end japanese restaurants such as Nobu. Egg fried rice is perfectly seasoned and not your average egg fried rice. Salmon with pak choi was mouthwatering! Cocktails are delicious.

The service was absolutely shocking. I have been to over 500 hundred restaurants all over the world in my lifetime, but never had I thought, I’d be writing a bad review for a restaurant in my own city. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were not made aware of how long we had until we ordered food. As we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, 15 mins passed until a waitress advised we would have to order within 10 mins. Within those 10 mins the rest of our party arrived however all of a sudden we were now told we would have to leave as it was too late to order. I looked around and could see customers still ordering and customers still arriving. The waitress was rude, she spoke over me, did not listen and advised we should have been told how long we had to order upon arrival, which was not done, yet she stood there arguing that we were, calling me a liar, she even rolled her eyes at me when asked for a higher manager. At this point I was unhappy however when the manager arrived I was shocked. He asked us to leave the table now, he did not want to listen or talk, he shouted out that he has a tight schedule and the kitchens are now closed. I reiterated the events of that night to him however he laughed in my face. He asked me what I wanted and advised him to let the rest of my party in and we were ready to order. He bought in 4 of the remaining 6 people in our party and shouted at them for being late and then shouted saying we were only allowed 1 course. He made all of us feel uncomfortable as he went around to waiters stating the same. He made us feel scared to order. We managed to order more than 1 course after a further 10 mins asking for a waitress to order, which made no sense. Thanks to another helpful waitress who advised us that the manager was just lying and to ignore him and apologised on his behalf. The food arriveS an hour after ordering, However food was pretty amazing, the ambience was nice and noise was still pretty loud.
Hi Wasim, Firstly i apologise for the experience you faced. After investigating this issue, placing a food order after 40 minutes of your reservation time, is near impossible for us to be able to serve a starter, main, dessert in 1 hour. As a business, who are trying to survive in a pandemic, and follow government guidelines, with the curfew in place - we are turning tables away who are more than 10 minutes late. We hope you can understand our position, but thoroughly apologise for any rudeness

We were served by the lovely Laura who was delightful. Very attentive and smiley. Food was great, had the nippon platter which was delicious (although was meant to feed 4 and fed two of us quite comfortably)

I had a wonderful time. It was my first time going out since the lockdown in March so i was nervous but i cannot wait to go again. There was hand gel on arrival and staff wore masks.
Tables were seperated adequately which was good and i felt comfortable.
Food was amazing as usual and i really enjoyed it!

We were waiting at table for 50 minutes to be served. When we got there admittedly we were 10 minutes late but we got told because of that we will not be able to have food which I thought was unfair because we didn’t even get served for ages. In the end we only had time to have one drink. Not good service. Came here for my birthday but did not have a good time.
Hi Mr H Patel, Your table was booked in for 8pm, and you were sat at your table at 8.18pm. On every booking confirmation it does say if a guest is more then 10 mins late the table is canceled, with the curfew in place its far too difficult to be able to serve in time, which is why we ask our guests to be on time. Honestly had a wonderful time and enjoyed the energy and level of service! Even with all that's going on with the restrictions due to Covid, my hubby and I felt very accommodated. The ambiance was very picturesque and fun, a bit loud but we didn't mind one bit! The only thing that we didn't quite enjoy was the actual quality of the sushi. It wasn't as fresh and just didn't match the level of everything else Novo has, which was quite disappointing. With all into consideration of our entire experience, I would definitely consider going to Novo Oko again but probably to the cocktail lounge upstairs or to enjoy some of their small plates.
Amazing food and service from Laura explained food to us when brought to the table and made sure drinks where kept full. Ambiance was perfect and place was clean and very COVID secure. Wish I was able to leave a tip with a card payment but unfortunately I was not aloud which was the only down side to the restaurant Can’t wait to rebook for another afternoon or evening. 5 stars and more
Firstly the food was fantastic in quality... in Covid times the restaurant had a refreshing liveliness! Service was very good too from all tbe staff. It was nice to see the manager checking every table, I saw a person who cared for all the customers which was nice.

This was a brilliant experience, I would definitely recommend to all. The bar staff made one of the best Chocolate Old Fasioned drins I've had, the chef's food was incredible and the management (El) was very attentive. SUPER!

OKO is excellent and something ‘just a bit different’. The food was superb, our waitress (blonde lady) was amazingly efficient & helpful. We visited on Saturday and had our 2 granddaughters (aged early 20’s) with us as we were celebrating her 21st Birthday, they absolutely loved it. The waitress had arranged a special dessert with a Sparkler on top which helped to make the evening even more special - thank you!

We went out for my birthday had a food table booked unfortunately for me my friends where over an hour late and whilst waiting one of the managers named Athina was extremely rude, honestly her attitude stinks and she should really think about how she talks to customers. After sitting and waiting with 1 of of my friends whist the rest of the guests hadn’t turned up yet,one of the managers said that the kitchen would be closing and so I asked to order just the two of us and the manager said she’d get a waiter to come take our order and nobody did. 20 minutes later our other party guests arrived and finally a waiter came to take our order and when we said about food we were told the kitchen was closed.
The manager then came back over and lied and said I’d told her that I’d we had already ordered food. I was just so annoyed because I’d spoken to her like 3 times and apologised that my other guests were late and that I was happy to just order for the two of us that were there. Completely ruined my night I just payed the drink bill and left.
It was such a shame because I was just so let down by my friends being late and then the service that I’d gotten from the staff just wasn’t what it normally was. Very disappointed
Hi Shea, Unfortunately we are a low capacity restaurant with added restrictions with Covid, it says when booking we dont accept tables that are later than 15 minutes. We possibly couldn't take any food orders after 10.30pm when our kitchen closes, when a group was over an hour late. We apologise for the rude behaviour you experienced from a member of staff, they have been spoken to. We value ourselves on service, and aim for all our guests to have a good experience. Apologies once again.

Not an authentic Japanese restaurant. Very much a club with some temporary seating. Surprised they didn't have any Japanese beers, offering the cheap stock beers. And no sake? Very odd. You don't feel any authenticity. That being said the food was actually quite good. Have had Japanese all over the world and the food here was comparable. Again missing some must have on the menu. Overall decent experience. Food was good but if I was looking for a Japanese, I wouldn't go back here.

After being hyped by Instagram I expected only the best and it was far from it. From the moment we was seated, the waiting around for attention and service was shocking, and having to repeatedly ask for things is not ok. Our table was at 9pm and we found ourselves eating at 11pm plus the food came out in waves...which would be fine if it wasn't so random. Who wants to eat just chips after eating everything to go with them? Overall just disappointed as I really wanted to enjoy it so it could be a new spot but I won't be rushing back any time soon.

1st time eating here and the food was fantastic, service was friendly and the waitress was really helpful explaining the way the menu worked.
Only niggle was the group of very loud girls 2 tables away, but not a lot the restaurant could do about that.
