Nice setting for Sunday lunch with friends and their family. Despite being quiet the service was slower than normal but friendly all the same.
Service is great. Ideal for a meal before the theatre. Limited menu, which obviously allows for time to get served and out. We were sat upstairs which my wife complained was cold due to air conditioning blasting our table.
The staff were lovely and the food and cocktails were delicious! The only downside for me was that it was very noisy and the tables were close together so it was sometimes hard to hear the person I was with. We had a 5pm booking on a Saturday night, so it could be that's an especially busy time to go. Overall we had a great time though and I would recommend giving it a try.
Had a fantastic night. noticed that the place was spotlessly clean. Loved every minute wished session was a little longer
The ambiance was great. Service was great. Food wasn’t the best. My main pork dish was dry. And some other guests complained about their food. Friendly service
We tried the Old Compton for a pre theatre dinner so went for the set menu. There wan't loads of choice but it was quite balanced and not difficult to find items we liked. The kedgeree scotch eggs were delicious. Meal sizes were just right, not too big but enough to feel satisfied. Price overall was great value - 3 courses for 2 people plus 2 non alcoholic drinks (one a cocktail) for just under £60. For the west end in London that's very good.
Great, responsive, friendly service. Lovely ambience and excellent food for a reasonable price. Great for pre-theatre dining!
We always have a wonderful night at Old Compton Brasserie. The food was delicious, the cocktails were really exciting and to top it all off the staff have always made the evening that bit more special. I would thoroughly recommend an evening there.
Great service, excellent priced set menu, good wine list :)
Great service and very attentive staff, would recommended to friends and family
Great location for the Prince Edward theatre. Good menu selection and buzzy ambience - wouldn’t recommend for a quiet dinner 😂
We visited here before our trip to the theatre to celebrate my moms 60th birthday and I have to say we wasn't disappointed we was greeted very promptly upon arrival and was made to feel very welcome we was seated straight away and our waiter Christian was very quick to bring us menu's and take our drink's order. we had the bottomless brunch as soon as our glass was empty Christian was straight over topping us back up he went above and beyond especially when he knew it was my moms birthday he was very efficient noting was to much to ask he even arrange for a desert with sparklers to come to my mom at the end of the meal which was a lovely touch this was our first visit to old Compton brasserie and defiantly will not be the last we have already recommend it to a number of people and in a fantastic location to thank you for a fabulous afternoon.
Great place for lunch , service excellent, really good food and nice buzzy atmosphere
Food was very good, but a bit to noisy to have a regular conversation. But the place itself is nice with and service really great!
Great food and service. Buzzing place to be. Anniversary dinner before the theatre
Great vibe, friendly staff, good value set menu. Made to feel very welcome. Thank you.
Great value pre theatre dinner in central location
Great value and quality food whether it’s a quick set pre theatre menu or you’re staying a bit longer. Waiting staff very energetic
Lovely ambience and friendly staff but our mains were all very overcooked and although the worst one was removed from the bill, we had to point out how charred the food was. It should not have left the kitchen; we had waited a while for the food to arrive so did not have time to wait for it to be cooked again!
This is an excellent restaurant, serving a wide and variable menu of excellent food and wines. The staff are obviously well trained, efficient and friendly and the management has to be applauded for that. The ambiance is also perfect whether you’re a young person or adult. Highly recommended,
Managed to book on the day and got a great table at the back for 6 of us. Great atmosphere for a Saturday night, we really enjoyed the food and drinks. Reasonably priced too! Will definitely be returning.
Booked the special offer 3 course meal for £20 and it was excellent. A good choice of starter, mains and deserts.
Service was great. Quick, courteous and with a smile.
DJ was playing great music throughout too.
Will go again soon and try the a la carte.
Amazing staff. Delicious food. Great value. Just one small thing, the tables are for too tightly packed. You may as well be eating communally. They are trying to fit in too many people. One or two tables less would make the space better.
We arrived 20 mins late but very understanding
£20 for 3 courses very good value
Would definitely come back
My entire experience at the Old Compton Brasserie was ruined by the appalling level of noise. The food was ok tho too salty for my taste, the service was attentive and fairly quick but it was hard to judge as I was dying to get out due to the ghastly racket. The music was loud and everyone was shrieking to be heard over it. My daughter felt the same.
We had a great Saturday brunch, lots of fun, great atmosphere and entertainment!
Lovely venue and great ambience but the food was terrible!
We came to celebrate our engagement, the staff were incredible! Food was amazing! And the drag queens were fabulous!
Good atmosphere although could get a little noisy with the noise bouncing off the walls. Not intrusive though just found it hard to hear the staff sometimes.
We had a delay with a misunderstanding from the kitchen for our starters meaning half of us had to wait quite a while after our friends but overall great food quality and service was good. A nice evening out. Good Vegan options also!
We were rushed off our table, because of another booking. This is fine, but the waiter didn’t have to hover over us until we left... also the seafood linguine has hardly any fish, and felt like a starter size portion. Not great for the price.
Nice food. Slow service if you are going to the theatre.
Excellent service
A lovely venue to go with friends and family. A delightful place with a great vibe, good food and service. Rightly priced too. Worth visiting again.
Really good food- recommend wings and mac/cheese!
Great post-theatre stop off.
We've been before and returned because of the lovely relaxed environment and friendly staff. Great menu where I am sure everyone would find something and the food is excellent quality. Our only disappointment was 4 people had the pork belly and our greens never arrived ! It was busy when we were there so we had to call a member of staff a few times, but they were really good at their jobs and super helpful organising lighting our daughters birthday cake and joined in the singing. Lovely place, good food and great staff ~ what more could you ask for !
Anniversary
Engagement
Exceptional service - quick and not afraid to help if you have any issues.
Set menu is fantastic value - 3 courses for £19 on a Saturday night in London is worth it alone! When you add in some funky décor and a great atmosphere, it made for a lovely evening
Enjoyed the succulent spatchcock chicken with delicious aioli. But my dining partner was not a fan of the vegan salad as she felt it was unimaginative and lacked seasoning. But service was good and we got out it time for our theatre show.
Great meal and so glad we booked. Very understanding staff when we had an issue with a very 'loud' table nearby. Issue quickly resolved.
