First time here, efficient check-in to table, friendly waiter, menu offered good choice, nice starters (Scotch egg, mackerel) and the steak and frites was a very good steak. Wines by the glass were fine quality, although the prosecco was not one of the best and not worth £8 so if we revisit we'd either no order one or go for the option where a glass is included.
Think we had a new server and he mixed my order up twice. Kasha (hostess?) was excellent and noticed straight away and sorted it. Cannot fault her attention to detail and service. Unfortunately, not enough support for the new person, so we were sat waiting for service on a number of occasions.
Overall, great food and a fab atmosphere. The other servers seemed quick, responsive and attentive. Unfortunate that we were seated where we were and I think he just struggled to keep up. Definitely would not stop us returning though!
Lovely meal, in an energetic setting, and friendly service.
Nice place good food and staff are super friendly
Live in soho Been here a few times now the food is lovely my issue with the last visit is I know they except cash for payment because I’ve been here before but when I paid with cash the waiter said there is no change they don’t have change, I find that very strange as if you take cash there is change so he was going to take my money and not give me change but I said to take off the service charge so I can have some change this needs to be sorted because it’s not correct
Lovely food in a vibrant athmosphere. Attentive service
I really love every time I go to Old Compton.. I had the Duck confit and I was divine! The ambience is vibrant and the DJ made our meal very lively!
Brilliant night at Compton Street Brasserie. Went as a group of 6 and from the reviews expecting lively and possibly slow service because of the popularity. Things started slow but once sat down and the first drinks ordered everything was perfect, especially our waiter from the Canary Isles that we didnt even get the name of - sorry but many thanks for a great evening.
The food is way above what we expected for the venue - large portions, very well done and very good value for basically the middle of Soho. Starters like chicken wings were a large portion rather than a bar snack, the cod and chips was a battered whale and the chicken burger was huge - when offered the salad instead of chips consider it for once.
Big party atmosphere and noisy but in a great inclusive feeling - tables all singing the many happy birthdays to each other.
I dont do many 5 star reviews but have nothing bad to say on this one - bring your friends and have a laugh. Good place to bring visitors to London to see Soho back to its best.
Terrible - placed us on a table big enough for 2 for 4 of us eat - next to a dirty drain and told us nothing they could do - shocking service and wouldn’t move us inside
Food and drinks were great, the place had a lovely vibe to it. Staff were all great.
Absolutely no social distancing on tables so if you’re covid conscious it’s probably not the one for you. Had to shout at each other to have a conversation as the music was crazy loud
Compton Street brasserie is probably my favourite restaurant in town due to its consistency in service, hospitality, food quality and overall value for money. Tonights booking was a reunion of friends after 44 years and the restaurant made the evening extra special.
Restaurant manager Max and our waiter Costas - thank you and the whole team
good food, great service, good value, buzzing, lots of fun
Quick and attentivr service and a great atmosphere!
Outstanding lunch, food was great (ate from the set menu which was excellent value) wines choices were good and it had a great buzz. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back
The steak was good. Excellent fries. Waiter looked after us well.
A fantastic find. A great menu choice and fabulous service from very friendly staff. I will definitely be going back.
Brilliant food and service. A real buzz too.
Great please! Great food! Great Staff! would highly recommended
Fabulous service. Super friendly and great set menu deal. Thanks so much :)
Had a lovely meal using the three course set menu. Really buzzy atmosphere but background music level and acoustics meant you didn’t have to raise your voice to have a conversation.
Al three courses were perfectly cooked and nicely presented; the steak at a £5 supplement was surprisingly large, and rare really did mean rare.
Enjoyed the half price Aperol Spritz before 7pm, and draught beer was well priced. The table behind us had smoked Old Fashioneds which were presented with theatrical flourish in smoke-filled glass cloches.
Service was friendly, quick and attentive without being intrusive.
Value rating based on set menu and drinks
- a la carte prices were otherwise on the high side.
Lovely date night, we had the set menu and it was lovely. Paid a little extra for the steak and definitely was worth it.
Staff were amazing and couldn’t have been more helpful.
Only complaint was it was very loud in there but that’s just me being picky.
Excellent atmosphere. Good food service with with a smile myself and friends will be back
Great outdoor space, good wine list and impecable service
The perfect spot for a buzzing Sunday lunch! Really great value food and the service was excellent! Would definitely recommend the Old Compton, and will be going back for evening drinks soon!
Excellent service.A big thank you to George who was polite, proactive and helpful to us for the whole evening despite being very busy on a Saturday night.Give the guy a promotion!
Fantastic food. Service. Ambiance. And well priced. In perfect location in Central compton Street
Always, always fabulous. Staff are fantastic and food and drinks excellent. Thanks for being so kind with the birthday cake for my niece, she loved it 😘
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in London. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I'm always delighted with my meal! The staff is also great and always efficient, happy, and polite. I can't praise Cris, Katarzyna, and Max enough—they always do a brilliant job. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat/drink in Soho. Love this place and will continue to visit.
Great cocktails great food
Great service, food and atmosphere
Great food, great cocktails and great service. Lovely afternoon sat outside in the sun taking in the buzz of Soho.
Great energy and music!
Food not great, unfortunately not at price point and very pricey for what you get. Fries were all broken down to smaller pieces and burnt. Fish We were seated under the stairs, had cigarette butts, a newspaper and mussel shells under our table. Our main courses came while we were finishing our starter.
Great atmosphere but unfortunately not at all near the £70 + price point.
Was a really buzzy place, stylish interior, packed but didn’t impact the service which was efficient and friendly. Food was great, good portion size, well presented and very tasty, prices on the reasonable side for soho and considering the portions. cocktails seemed popular, my friend had an old fashioned that came out in a smoke-filled dome, great theatre! I will visit again!
Always amazing food and service!
Everything could not have been more perfect, drinks were incredible - totally recommend the Hugo! Food was exceptional and the staff were amazing - so accommodating attentive and considering it was so busy you felt like the only people there!
Amazing atmosphere as always and staff are so efficient and helpful!
Excellent service from our waitress. We were taken care of well! We enjoyed the Truffle Camembert particularly.
Great food, service excellent and the waiters and staff couldn't have been any nicer - my new favourite place in town!
The seafood pasta was really disappointing as it had about 2 prawns, 2 mussels and 2 clams.
Service was also really slow but they were extremely busy
