Old Compton Brasserie
Thu, Fri 12:00–12:30
Loved it. Great service, great food! Made a special day out even more so.
Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of good food, good service and great company
Incredible food and amazing service. The PB burger is probably the best vegan burger I've had in London.
Staff are amazing. I visited On my bday and they were kind enough to bring out a complimentary cake. Will for sure be back again!
Fantastic service and easy to reserve plus reminders about our booking. Comfortable seating. Noise level a little high (we are oldies...). Definitely worth a visit.
fun brasserie, but beware the salt content in some of their cooking!
The white wine was Not cold, only with ice...
The Salomon Skin was Black burned, Not grilled...
Went here for a pre theatre and it was VERY busy so we only just made it. The staff were great getting the food to us as quickly as possible. Food was great and the price was reasonable but be warned it can get very busy so give yourself an extra 30 minutes for pre theatre dinner!
It was a busy Friday night in December, so noise levels even on an early sitting were quite high. The food we ordered was quite good, but perhaps a bit different to what we read in the menu. The service was great though. Friendly staff did all they could to accommodate us and even removed one of dishes from the bill.
Cool location and a wonderful mixologist
Slight sherry confusion aside, this was a memorable and delicious lunch with friendly service, a great space and a charming vibe
We had a great time! Food was tasty, service was good, and it's such a nice, interestingly decorated space.
Service was was a bit slow, we sat down at 1.30pm and didn’t have food until after 3pm. But all staff were very polite and friendly and apologetic.
Cocktails are very over-priced and nothing special. Food is simple but very well executed. The atmosphere was buzzy and fun and you can lose track of time making the delay on food easy to overlook
We enjoyed a a fantastic lunch here. The menu was varied and catered for all dietary requirements at our table. It also had a good enough selection for the pickier eaters. All dishes were well seasoned, cooked and presented. Service was friendly, our waiter Christian was very attentive. Overall our whole group was extremely happy with the food, ambience and service. We’ll be back!
Really nice place with great food, one very minor thing; waiters seemed unaware of what tables they were looking after and hence we got asked how our meal was/would we like water/would you like a dessert by 3 different waiters.. but can’t really complain about too attentive service
Another great evening here, Daniele looked after us as well as Andreeas! Have and will continue to recommend to friends.
Excellent food and service and surprisingly well priced for the location. Would definitely go back.
Meat is rubbery. Too much vinegar, extremely acidic. Small portions. Too noisy.
Lovely Saturday brunch here with old friends. Music was rather loud at first but the happily turned it down along with the heating which was too much for my group of women of a certain age! Service was great, lovely young waiting staff who were very friendly and attentive. Food was great, cocktails delicious - just what we were after.
Really lovely evening, great food, amazing service from Christian G, good cocktails in good company and lovely surroundings.
Celebrated a birthday here, busy time of night but the service was great and attentive despite witnessing how busy everyone was! A mistake in the order was rectified in a very professional manner.
Lovely friendly staff, very helpful as can’t eat gluten so offered a good choice of options. Food was served hot and was tasty. Reasonably price too, Very much worth a visit wether just the two of you or in a group, recommended to many friends and will showing back ....
Such a fun place and the cocktails are fantastic!
We had a crap table at the back - husband got headache from the lights reflected in the mirror wall. Tea was weak and pork terrine was overwhelmed by orange that wasn’t mentioned in the menu
We had a table for three people . The restaurant states on its website that tables of 3-4 will need a two hour turnaround. This is probably due to the fact that you have to wait 54 minutes between starter and main !
The staff are very polite but cannot deliver the service they should because they don’t have the goods to deliver !
It was very disappointing. I’m glad it wasn’t a special occasion dinner
Great Food in a Fun industrial style pop art restaurant in Soho service on the night we went was a bit slow but they were incredibly busy we will definitely go back again one thing I would say it’s a very noisy restaurant so maybe not for a rromantic meal
Delicous food at great value. New and modern flare
I first visited when they had their 'soft opening' and 50% off from the menu. I found it great value then and it had a nice ambience and great music. This time around it was packed with people and several large tables; we had to shout to hear each other. The portions were not very large and because large tables were being served, food took forever to arrive. My friends ordered a chocolate mousse which tasted of plastic and they had to send back.
Not sure I would return - certainly not on a Friday.
Great place for dinner with friends. In the heart of soho, Old Compton Brasserie has a fantastic, buzzing atmosphere. Food was fabulous - especially our desserts. Would highly recoommend.
food was very nice, tasty. restaurant was very busy and very vibrant. staff friendly but little bit slow
Excellent dining room, clean and spacious. Nice contemporary design. Staff were friendly but a little slow. Had to ask for the set menu at lunchtime which proved excellent value. Food was superb, very well cooked and lovely balance of flavours. Will definitely return.
This was my second time to the Restaurant and it was for my Birthday with a group of 6 people. The customer service levels were exceptional, even though the Restaurant was very busy. Our waiter Christian went above and betond to provide excellent service to us all and cater to our every need with a personalised approach. Fantastic food and wine menu in a cosmopolitan and vibrant atmosphere. Well done team!
The food was good, but not special. The service was haphazard, and the atmosphere was very brash. At nearly £100 for a meal for two, it was very poor value for money. Would not recommend.
I came here for my birthday and had a very nice time. Our waiter Arthur was very sweet and funny which made our evening very enjoyable!
We had a roast dinner however only to get a kids size portion. Definitely was not a roast style dinner and for the price we paid, not value for money and was not impressed. Waiters did not show any interested with our feedback.
Christian our waiter was amazing. 5 star service. The food was delicious, ambiance excellent. Would return!
I was very disappointed with my experience at Old Compton Brasserie. When I first walked in, it reminded me of the Ivy Brasserie in Soho. Unfortunately, it was subpar in comparison. For starters, I had the burrata, which was tasteless and a shame as it looked like it would be delicious. My friends had the salmon, ceviche and prawns, which again all were presented well but underdelivered in flavour. For mains, I had the truffle chicken which was tiny and over cooked. I also couldn't get any taste of truffle. The rest of the table ordered the gnocchi which was fine and the baked sweet potato which was lackluster. I would come back for drinks but not for food again.
The food is pretty good, I ate there before and had the salmon which was awesome. This time I had the lamb and it was crazy fatty - and not in a good way. Almost all fat. My buddy ordered a rare stake it came in well-done. But the wine is good and the sides were good.
The place is really nice and priced well -- the staff does tend to hustle you a lot, every five minutes asking if you are ready to order, but there are polite and friendly.
The place is new and really well placed and priced. I will go back, but won't order the lamb.
Had dinner here on a Thursday night so expected the food to be good with the chefs having had a good few days to warm up. The food on the whole was pretty good. The starters of ceviche and burrata were nicely presented with good flavour combinations. The mains were very well executed (salmon, sea bass and chicken). The deserts need a little refining though. The pavlova was disappointingly chewy and chocolate moose lacking punch. The baked vanilla was very good but perhaps a little too strong on the vanilla. So overall the food satisfactory and value for money but could be improved.
Service by the waitress was on the whole good, except the wine came during the starters and not before. The unfortunate nail in the coffin and key reason I won’t be returning to this venue or recommending; at the end of the meal we were rushed off the table by one of the duty managers. His exact words were “I am sorry guys but I am going to need the table back for the next sittting”. As soon as he realised his error he was quick to say “I am sorry but we are in Soho and we have a table turnover policy”. Quite honestly that may be the case but you (a) should inform paying customers there is a time limit or a booking expected when they arrive (b) politely give people notice of 10-15 mins rather than say you need it back this instant, especially when there is a 6 month old baby who’s in the middle of feeding! Disgusted.
very ordinary, service poor, the wine we selected was not available. Wouldn't rush back
Great Sunday roast! First time here another great Maxwell's restaurant.
