The Old Halfway House is between two vibrant towns and combines a mix of good food and a large selection of draught products and spirits. Food is served daily from 12noon–10pm. It is an excellent place for all the family to dine or just to relax and have a drink. It has a large beer garden to the rear and a purpose-built smoking shelter. We also welcome children, with activities and games for them.

    10 of us went for lunch food prices have gone up food was not hot loaded jacket potatoes were not loaded very poor. Won’t be going again

    Catch up meal with my friend. It was very quiet being a Monday night. Staff were fine and greeted us in arrival. Food was nice. Mash a little dry other than that lovely.

    My friends & I much prefer food orders to be taken at table rather than queuing at the bar which was manned by one person serving drinks & taking food orders on a busy lunchtime. Staff were unfailingly helpful & polite but there were not enough on duty to cope with a busy lunchtime service.

    Booked a table through Open table for Sunday lunch 12 30 on the 9th October. Arrived at 12.15 to be told they had no record of a booking being made despite me showing them proof on my phone. Waste of time

    We've been here twice now and found the food really good and the price excellent. But the thing that sets it apart is the service, the staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you.
