Went for the Sunday lunch. Great value as the kids eat free.
Delicious starters and beautiful Roast beef dinner.
Highly recommended this restuarant for value and for money and great service.
Lovely meal and great service. Went to the bar after and sat there listening to the two lad play. It was really enjoyable Love this place
I don’t normally write these but my wife and I had such a great experience that I had to. The moment you arrive your greeted by friendly staff, the atmosphere and decor is wonderful in Old Street. We didn’t have long to wait between courses when we ordered. All the staff were very well mannered and able to show you around the menu in terms of the food and drink were it’s located and what is best with what.
Overall my wife and I had an fantastic evening and would highly recommend it for other couples and family’s to dine in.
Perfect for Sunday lunch
Excelente, regresaremos de seguro!
Excellent restaurant fully deserving of the Michelin guide recommendation for 2020.
Very friendly staff and extremely accommodating of children. Good food and decor
I would as it’s a stunning venue. Sunday lunch was a lil quiet at 2 pm. We had 2 servers on the table, one fella was a lovely chap. Chatty and friendly. The other lad not so much. Very surly and had to be asked a few times for things. Music was all wrong too. For the surrounds.
Welcome - warm and gracious. Restaurant- spotless. Service - excellent Food - good variety, absolutely delicious. Good portions, value for money. Pudding - plum tart shared between my companion and myself was luscious, tempted to order a second portion. Old Street never fails to impress. Highly recommended.
Hi, I absolutely love love love this place, my third time there on Friday night but first time sitting downstairs, have to say would not like to sit downstairs again ! too noisy, way too noisy, I couldn't hear a thing my hubby said to me all night, and when you get out once in a blue moon with hubby ( last 2 times were with the girls ) it would have been nice to have that much needed conversation but way too noisy. the last 2 times I was upstairs which I love ( I asked could we be moved upstairs if table available when we were seated downstairs but not possible ) pity as hubby didn't like the noise level downstairs either. Personally I don't see the need for a live act in a restaurant ( background music is fine ) do people not go out to chat and eat ?? Lesson learnt, ask for table upstairs only if I go on a friday night !! Apart from that, the food was amazing.
Return visit and it was as good as the first time :) The only tiny issue was on this visit we were sitting close to the radiators and it was a little too warm for me. Other than that a great night out.
Love this restaurant, staff great and service excellent, have been before and look forward to going again, if I had to find fault it would only be the disappointing filter coffee on the Friday supper deal.
Gorgeous atmosphere, tasty food and lovely staff. Service was a little slow with clearing plates and food coming out but it might have been because it was busy Sunday lunch service. Staff were so lovely and the general atmosphere was nice and relaxed so we didn’t mind too much. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful as always! Food is delicious, staff are friendly and attentive and great wine list too.
Beautiful place, good menu and food. Friendly staff
Highly recommend this restaurant. Fantastic service from start to finish. Very comfortable and beautifully designed. Most importantly the food was delicious
One of the starters, sautéed Gambas, came out on a skillet but Luke warm. The waiter poured some wine into a glass to taste and when I said yes it was fine he took the glass, with the wine in it, away to change them to red wine glasses??!! I asked for it back because I was paying for a full bottle but I found it a bizarre way to do it.
Overall it’s a gorgeous place but the food and service is not worth the very expensive bill you get at the end of it.
Pleasant atmosphere great food good wine and good service
Starter was cold (when it eventually arrived). Service was slow. Overall disappointed with event
We enjoyed a nice family meal after a Santa visit. Food was all lovely for both adults & kids
Fabulous food. Wonderful staff who knew and understood the menu and gave great advice. The menu was very fairly priced considering the location and time of year.
Sensitive renovation that has retained character and ambience of the original building.
This restaurant has become our restaurant of choice in Malahide.
Its was a little bit noisy but there were 2 work groups in for office parties. So would believe its normally quieter.
Floating island desert is amazing.
Loved it. Great food, great service, beautiful building.
It was our first visit and it was very good . Great, fast service and good food . The starter portion of mussels is generous. Wine is a bit pricey . Lovely building and great ambiance - we will be back !
Fabulous Food ! Great Service ! Back again this week for more delicious food with more of my friends !!
Really couldn’t fault this place. Our first visit and will 100% return. We went with our 2 kids on Sunday, who ate for free. Excellent service, ,great atmosphere and beautiful food.
Super evening. Food & service excellent. Only issue was the noise upstairs but we are coming up to Christmas so we can all expect a bit more volume from diners. For us it just added to the overall fun of the evening. Great atmosphere.
We found our seat a bit cold as there was a breeze from somewhere also the food was extremely tasty but a bit on the cold side. But the restaurant was very busy. Service good and place beautiful
Delicious food . Staff were lovely. An absolutely beautiful space.
Restaurant is nice and simple with great atmosphere. Staff helpful, and very friendly. Food great especially desserts. Absolutelly would recommend.
This was my second visit recently to Old Street as I thoroughly enjoyed the first vist and food. However on this occasion the food was not up to par and to be honest portion size for a number of the dishes was quite small.
Our waitress was very accomadating and the service cannot be faulted.
It was highly annoying to find out on the evening after the meal that Kids eat free when they are with adults on a Sunday but yet I had been charged for 3 childrens meals and deserts and had paid this bill not being aware of this offer. It is concerning that controls are not in place to ensure that this does not occur on a Sunday as it added approx €30.00 to the bill which was for 8 people in total.
The restaurant was simply too busy. There were no red wine glasses available which was a first. The food was very good except for the calamari which was more breadcrumb than fish and the portion was too small in my opinion. The duck main course was superb and the mussels and risotto were really good too. Our server made the comment the restaurant was too busy and the service was suffering. We’ve always had a great experience before and we will be back but during busy periods such as Christmas it must be managed better.
Unfortunately the service was very slow despite all tables not being full but there was a large party downstairs - Upstairs was quite noisy and very difficult for waiters to hear orders and also for our party of four to hear each other at the table .
We ordered 4 starters and shared them they were all amazing.
Martin and I shared the steak meal for 2 and the girls both ordered the duck. Everyone was very happy the food was delicious and the service was first class. We'll be back.
Had dinner with family here recently. Then returned a second time with a friend. Absolutely Fabulous food and wine both nights and really good value. Restaurant has beautiful decor, welcoming front desk and friendly warm staff. The restaurant was buzzing both nights but service was top class. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent as always!
Good service from friendly staff. My starter of pumpkin soup was just about saved by the presence of pumpkin seeds. Couldn't quite identify what the flavour was, but it bordered on unpleasant. The main of goat cheese and onion tart was good. As a vegetarian the choice was limited, for mains basically the option was the tart or a risotto. At this point my heart sinks when I see them yet again on the menu. My friend fared better with her chicken salad and burger. We skipped deserts. A pleasant experience apart from the fact that we were seated beside shelves which housed cutlery, napkins etc. Even on a quiet evening there was a constant stream of traffic beside our table. To be fair we were offered a couple of options when we arrived, however a table for four with all that elbow room was too tempting to turn down. Myself and my pal later regretted our choice but were too settled to move. It's a nice venue, good staff who I could see where doing their best not to disturb us, but do avoid the table beside the shelf.
New menu offers old favourites and some great new choices for Autumn. Always an enjoyable evening and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Mark always has some great wine recommendations for us - they don’t disappoint.
Excellent place, it was my first time there and I am a big fan of restaurants so I was delighted to experience dining in this very cosy looking place. I must say the food was delicious and service second to none . We were welcomed and hosted by Matthew who went out of his way to make sure all 5 of us were well looked after. I will be definately back. Well done guys! Thank you for 5* service.
Food was excellent, the waitress who served us was lovely, made us feel at home and the restaurant itself is just beautiful, absolutely loved it!
Beef ordered medium x 2 - and medium well x 2
2 were overdone and 2 were rare and were given to the wrong persons
Apart from that the food and portion sizes were very good
Bit expensive for Sunday lunch in my opinion we only had one glass of wine as all were driving
We eat out quite a lot - fine dining - and casually and this was on the high Side for what we got
But we’ve been lots of times before and will go again and would recommend it
