My wife and I just want to thank the entire team at Pujol for an amazing and memorable experience. From start to finish every detail was accounted for and made our time at your restaurant one we will never forget.
This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We sat at the taco bar and spent three hours eating. We had 14 plates in all, and tried 5 different mezcals. My wife had the vegetarian version of the menu, which was also all delicious. For desert, they’ll ask you to go to a section outside. I thought this was a little jarring at first, but realized it was to let us take our time with coffee and dessert. The mole, which was six years in the making, was a highlight. Worth every penny.
The meal was incredible. I don’t know what my favorite dish was. Impeccable service, friendly staff, delicious food, beautiful setting...I am only bummed I forgot our napkins!
Between Antonello, Ellie, Carmen, Eduardo, Ricardo, I was served and waited on by some of the kindest and warmest and best of their craft. To say this meal was incredible is an understatement. For context, I booked a bar seat for the omakase, expecting to spend the entire meal musing in my head about the flavors and profiles I was tasting. What awaited me was warm company, expert dives into every meal, and me not feeling like I was expected to feel alone while dining alone. I will have to make more return trips to CDMX specifically to come taste and experience more of Pujol. Congratulations on a superb team and an execution of a marvelous experience. Muchissimo gusto to all I met. Thank you for making this trip unforgettable.
Lived up to every expectation. This is next level dining that is rarely available anywhere in the world. Food was impeccable, can not be faulted, plate after plate did not disappoint. Service was without fault, attention to detail on point. I was concerned I would leave too full but happily just satiated. A treat all should experience.
My friend and went to Pujol for lunch and decided on the taco tasting menu with wine pairing. Every element of the dining experience was so well considered, from the food (which was outstanding), through to the service and ambience (architecture/lighting/sound/smell). We started our meal at the bar and finished with dessert in the outdoor courtyard, which was a lovely way to end the meal. It was a truly memorable experience and I would highly recommend.
No queria beber y ademas no era buena.
Very seafood heavy. I’d ask for the vegetarian options if you don’t like fish or seafood for every meal - they are very accommodating to these substitute requests.
Felt like they were trying to kick us out in the end
Muy buena experiencia, vale la pena. La comida deliciosa y el servicio espectacular
Amazing meal! Pujol lived up to the hype!
The food was excellent as usual, but I preferred the old drink pairing with different types of beverages.
Great dining experience. I’d recommend the taco menu over the full restaurant menu
Absolutely worth trying once, but honestly seemed a bit overrated, especially at this price point. The service was solid, but not impeccable (there was a mysterious and abrupt transition of designated dish explainers a few courses in, and the understudy who stepped in was not the equal of his predecessor; also, I overheard at least one explanation that was offered to the adjacent section, but not mine). I grant that my experience was colored by sitting next to the Instagram generation. This was for the taco omakase tasting at the bar. As for the food, the ingredients were pristine, but a certain sameness pervaded after a few courses, and the menu items weren't the most satisfying iterations of their kind (I am, admittedly, partial to tortillas de harina). At the end, I mainly felt like I paid too much money for the privilege of feeling over-full and eavesdropping on vapid, pretentious millennials. Additionally, the cab driver they kindly hailed for me was a navigationally challenged grifter--the only time this happened to me in Mexico City. I think I was late to the party on this one, and that the hype was probably more warranted in the restaurant's more nascent stages.
Be good if it was possible to separate the alcohol from the food offer.
We got the last two seats for the Omakase experience. From arrival to departure this was one of the most enjoyable culinary emprime. Nine courses, plus a dessert geste, and mezcal pairings. This was a symphony of service and culinarian chops.
Taco Omakase Pujol. What a great experience! Cheers to the folks in the kitchen that prepared this incredible omakase. Neat place, perfect execution, great service.
We did dinner on Friday then Lunch the next day. Both experiences were amazing. We thought lunch was a little more relaxed, and more fun vibe. But definitely try out both. Food was amazing
The best meal of my life!! If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation... just go!! I was blown away by how beautifully executed each dish was. Highly recommend to any foodie traveling to Mexico City!
The chef prepared a vegetarian option very delicious. The presentation of the food was great as well as the explanation of the dishes by the well-prepared staff. Service is very good. You can choose to match the food with drinks, wine, mezcal beer or cocktails; I can recommend Mezcal, they have a very interesting choice.
Experience was good. However, I don't know why Pujol hide the prices. If the chef thinks his food is great, why not be transparent and have the tasting menus prices on their website?
It is not until they sit you down that they give you a menu card and at the very bottom in very fine print they include the price. Anyhow, I didn't like that.
I treated myself to a solo meal while visiting friends here. I was greeted warmly, and such great care was given to me in small ways: pushing my seat in, showing me to the restrooms, letting me change my mind on drink preference, explaining the dishes and answering my questions, and never making me feel rushed! The food truly speaks for itself, but I found myself so warm with happiness from the level of service. It’s SO worth going to! I will be back.
Where to begin. First...major foodie here who "Hates" reviews from Opentable and Tripadvisor because the reviews are not from people who know good food. So please take this into consideration. If you are excited to try a Top 50 Restaurant - GO! If you care about the quality of food - much better authentic options in DF (Mexico City).
First, the ambiance and location/buildout are amazing. You must go for a cocktail at the outside bar. It is a must.
Second and most importantly, the Taco Omakase is just plain "average." Nothing special and actually had better tacos at the casual restaurants in town. For 3.350 Mexican pesos - I would absolutely pass on this option. We had two reservations so gave one to another family member to go later that night. The story goes that a patron flew into Mexico City for Pujol Omakase Tacos tasting. They love tacos. After the 4th course, they got up and left. This is the same course my wife and I looked at each other and said, "Wow, this is very underwhelming."
For Foodies and to authenticate: We did Noma pop-up in Tulum and Miami. We've done SF, Chicago, NYC, London, Hong Kong, and Paris Top Restaurants. Save the trip and your money going to Pujol.
On a broader note: Latin America is like the World Cup and Olympic committee choices for host cities. The locations might suck and be run by a dictator but, peace be upon the world, let's give them the vote to host - "damn the best for athletes and those attending." Latin America has been given some great Top Restaurant ratings that are absolutely not deserved: Pujol and Central being the most obvious (done Central 3x because of trips there for business - NYC restaurants not rated blow it away). They do great presentations but the food quality does not match those in other locations like NYC, SF, Paris, London, and Tokyo. The rankings just feel sorry for poor ole Latin America and they want them to be "represented."
Hope this helps.
This was the last meal of my time in Mexico, and I’ve heard so many amazing reviews. Unfortunately, this did not live up to the hype for the value nor the service.
The dishes were hit or miss. There were a couple that I thought tasted magical. Most dishes were meh. Even the dessert wasn’t anything special-just mango related desserts, plus churros.
I didn’t think the value was fair at all. They charged approx $165 USD whether you were drinking alcohol or not, which is really unfair. Just because that’s stated on the tasting menu, doesn’t make it right. I had been hoping to not drink that evening, but felt I had to since I was being charged.
The bartender/hostess wouldn’t pour me the mezcal most of the time, while she would pour for the people to the right and left of me. I had to keep reminding her to do so.
Then as I saw the bill, it was 2 line items that added up to $165USD...so alcohol was optional??
Excelente comida con maravilloso servicio. Atención de primera. El maridaje fue maravilloso. La comida toda una experiencia única
Great dinner, wonderful staff, and if traveling alone the omakase bar is a great place to be!
We have been waiting to visit Pujol since we learned about Chef Olvera from the Netflix series 'Chef's Table'. Our expectations were met, in fact, they were exceeded! We ate at the taco bar. The 10-course meal with paired drinks was unbelievable. The attention to detail not only of the food but of the drinks and the overall restaurant was impeccable! Raul, our server, was knowledgeable, friendly and hosted us extremely well. Dessert was served outside which elevated the whole experience and added to the already amazing atmosphere. This was a definite bucket list item and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!
The restaurant was amazing, the music perfect, the service exceptional. I have 0 complaints. Fantastic meal!
Amazing experience. This is my 3rd time here and i will keep coming back. Special shout out to Raul, the bartender, who was so knowledgeable and friendly and who saved the menu which I had made notes on when I thought I had lost it.
The food was inspired and wonderful.
Everyone should come try this out of world experience.
Valió la pena la espera...
Todo estuvo delicioso y el servicio excelente. Altamente recomendable.
A toda eme! Excelente comida, servicio, y ambiente!
Everything was amazing ! Great taste of mexico ¡
Wonderful experience. Once in a lifetime unless you are very rich or expensive account.
