We had an excellent Christmas Eve lunch here at Opium. The staff were so friendly and attentive, bringing us delicious cocktails and food, we will definitely be back when they reopen, a winner in my eyes.

We had lunch at Opium on Christmas Eve as a family of four. We've eaten here before and enjoyed it but if anything the food has improved! The menu has a fantastic selection and literally everything we ordered was top notch. We've eaten Asian food in some of the best restaurants in Dublin and this is absolutely in the top 5. The service was also exceptional, even more impressive considering it was Christmas Eve. To top off our (obviously!) very positive experience, I received a call from the restaurant that evening to say that they noticed we had been accidentally overcharged for something on the menu, and they were calling to apologise and refund us the overcharged amount. In 30+ years of eating out, I've never had a call like this. It's a massive credit to how well the restaurant is run that they would do this, particularly in terms of the difficult time they have no doubt had with Covid.

Opium will be top of our list for a return visit ASAP in 2021.

Six of us chose here for my sister's birthday party based on recommendations from friends. It didn't disappoint. I will be returning for my husband's birthday party in January with his family. Good food, service, value and atmosphere.

Food was delish. We were both extremely happy with our choices. I had sizzling pork and my Mrs had masaman . Staff were great too and place was very Covid friendly. I will definitely return.

Service and food was great, I’m not going to give 5 stars to service as there were waitresses/waiters only wearing a visor with no mask on.... sorry but the mask should be mandatory with the visor during the pandemic...

The lady who served us was lovely so helpful and kind, I got gyoza for starter was cold however my main was gorgeous, busy place but lovely atmosphere about it

Unfortunately very disappointing. We had the Christmas menu €49 per head which included Prosecco on arrival. Very overpriced for distinctly average food. Service was good. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommended. Very disappointed 😢

Excellent service and very accommodating- we made some changes to our dishes due to an allergy and they were able to do this no problem. They also had very good COVID rules - all servers were wearing masks and we were told we only had the table for 2 hours which was fine with us

Food was lovely, so tasty. I particularly enjoyed my starter and main course but dessert (chocolate brownie) was a bit dry and had a piece of paper on the bottom of it suggesting it was maybe shop bought? I’m not sure. Quality of the starter and main made up for this though.

Staff were lovely and accommodating. Only thing I will mention is that we were sat beside the bar and the male bartender started having an argument with the female bartender and one of the male servers about the amount of drinks he had to make. Not hugely pleasant to hear a member of staff raising his voice/cursing about this. Again though, the rest of the staff and the service made up for this.

Amazing food, wine and service. Above all I think I'd rate the service better than any I've experienced. So patient and helpful and I can't wait to go again. Felt safe in our small group. Everyone who moved around to leave, get to their table or use the bathroom respected other people's space and all wore face coverings. Fair play to them. Thanks for a fab experience 😀

I was really really disappointed with my experience at Opium. I was informed by phone a few days prior that there was a Christmas menu (no mention of prices etc). On arrival we were handed two glasses of Prosecco (we thought they were complimentary, I don’t drink Prosecco so I handed it back a while later). We were handed the menu (no prices on it, no mention of Prosecco). After ordering, the food was brought out speedily, nearly too quickly, we actually had to ask could we wait a few minutes before we got dessert. The food was nice but portions were small. We regularly eat in opium and could have got the starter and main for around 20euro. We were shocked to see that on the bill we were charged 47euro per person, including a 5euro charge each for the glass of Prosecco. I think it’s a really bad and sneaky way of doing business and they should have been more up front about the set up and price. It’s scandalous that you are charged for the Prosecco, without given any choice! What happens if you don’t drink alcohol or are pregnant? Needless to say, we won’t be back!

Layout of restaurant, perspex between tables and hand sanitizer at tables and throughout restaurant allowed us to feel safe and enjoy our meal out. Well done and thank you to all the staff for ensuring everyone felt comfortable to dine in during these times.

Can't fault it. Staff all very welcoming and friendly. Food delicious. Very slight delay between starter and mains but it was very busy so can't really complain about that! Will definitely be back. Great value in the set menu!

Food and cocktails where very nice but their was not enough time between courses.
In my opinion with the 2hour limit on time spent in restaurants and bars at the moment a set meal option did not work for our group.
We found the experience quite rushed and we left uncomfortably full of food.
