Oppa Korean BBQ
The restaurant's interior incorporates three styles; at the front you can enjoy the shade of a Korean blossom tree and sunken seating, next, you can dine in the projected green gardens, and finally, towards the back, you can feel the bustle the "street-food" area.
O.ppa is the only one of its kind in Richmond, so come and experience Korean BBQ with so many beautifully marinated beef, chicken, seafood and vegetable choices. Bulgogi (marinated beef), crispy chilli chicken and the kimchi platter are a few house signature dishes.
This place was amazing!! The staff were really friendly, the food was amazing... Definitely the best Korean BBQ I've had in London. Would be better if you could use coals to cook your food, but I don't think that is allowed due to health and safety reasons.
Everything was great, however the menu in the restaurant was different to the one we saw online. Staff were amenable to changes though so all was fine.
I think this style of restaurant lends itself to group bookings so I was surprised there wasn’t any kind of fixed price menu wich would have allowed us to sample more different kinds of dishes.
The tteokbokki was extremely dry and not edible, it practically tasted like cardboard. Do NOT order bbq the grill itself is extremely dirty and the portions aren’t worth the price. Honestly it was just the seats that were comfy and that you could charge your phone.
Delicious food. Lovely kimchi. Great bbq beef. Service was remote.
Impeccable service and food!
Took my girlfriend for her birthday - so much fun! lovely staff and DELICIOUS
The beef for BBQ was a little chewy but rest of the Korean dishes were very good.
Went with a friend who is Korean and had BBQ - beef bulgogi and spicy belly pork both were really good as were the side dishes - japchae noodles, kimchi pancake and kimchi fried rice. It was a Wednesday evening so not many other customers but the service was quick and friendly. My Korean friend was very complimentary about the BBQ! Small criticism... would have been nice to have had menus in Hangul as well as romanised Korean.
The food is always great! Lots of great choices and the staff are really nice. One of my favourite Korean restaurants.
Great find! Much nicer inside than it looks from the street. Lovely staff and great food. Will definitely be going again
Amazing staff service and proper quality food! They were so nice to give me a little dessert for my birthday
Good food but portion are enormous especially for rice. A dish of rice for two is perfect
Me and my had great time, great food, affordable and place is amazing. Staff are very accomodating. Highly recommended.
Really lovely food
Nice little local
I have been Oppa once before with family. cooking your own food is the fun element and the bulgogi was delicious with the sauces and lettuce was fresh ect. We over ordered and usually a waiter would tell me in my experience if the food is too much for 3 people but he did not on this occasion. My friends already had their drinks when I arrived and after I ordered I had to repeatedly remind the waiter I had ordered a beer. The Korean fried chicken had blood on the bones we couldn’t see it till we finished as the sauce was covering it. We mentioned it to the waiter whom informed the manager. He made a lame excuse about the chicken being from a different supplier and it was normal but there shouldn’t be any blood that’s not normal! Luckily none of us were sick. I have been to better Korean bbqs and I will not return to this one.
Decent Korean food. The BBQ meat could have been sliced more finely and the waiters didn't spend any time making sure we were cooking the food correctly. Especially with things like chicken or seafood. It was all tasty but condiments should have come with the BBQ platter rather than having to pay extra.
I did enjoy the meal though.
Good local restaurant with friendly service, we had the Korean BBQ, which was good, similar standard to other Korean restaurants, exactly what you would expect.
Would go back again to try some of the other dishes for sure.
Good authentic Korean food specials Table top barbeque
Amazing! Went with my other half for Valentine’s Day and we both absolutely loved it. Will 100% be going back
We had a lovely meal, good service and venue grande.
Lovely food, excellent service and for something completely different. I highly recommend. ☺️👍.
Last time I came here it was much better. This time round I had ordered the same as last time which was the ‘oppa special bbq’ and the meat was not marinated like the last time. There was no marinade on the steaks or the pork chops. When I said this to the waiter he had said that they had never marinated the meats. However I went only a couple months prior. The experience of the restaurant is fun and different. It’s nice to go with a bunch of friends to enjoy however, I did feel as though- this time round the meats weren’t as great which was a shame. But overall it’s a great experience and value for food.
Staff were really friendly and nice but the experience of the food was not consistent.
Good quality Korean food in pleasant surroundings. Not cheap but good quality stuff and pretty authentic. Table BBQ is fun. Will be back to try more dishes there in future.
The service was good but the food was disappointing, completely without seasoning so the meat and fish were really bland once cooked on the bbq.
I am leaving a poor review as I turned up with the two friends I was treating to a birthday lunch. We were excited to eat here and had booked weeks before and I had had a reminder of my booking sent to me the day before. We turned up on Sunday to find a notice on the door stating they had been closed since 17th October for a kitchen refurbishment. It is not acceptable to know 3 weeks ahead of time that you will be closed, yet not contact anyone who has a reservation to advise that it cannot be honoured. It was embarrassing and ruined the birthday plans. Opentable have been in touch to give their apologies for this, for which I am grateful, but Oppa are in my bad books..
restaurant is closed
Unfortunately Oppa was closed on the night we booked !?! They are currently closed for a kitchen renovation since 17th October although unfortunately still accepting booking through Open Table (not ideal when you turn up for pre booked table for 4 at 8pm on a Friday night ;))
Although my booking was accepted and confirmation was received, upon arrival, the restaurant was closed for refurbishment!
I booked Oppa weeks ago and it was closed on the night we booked. They've currently closed for a kitchen renovation since 17th October. I don't know why OpenTable are still accepting bookings for this place, I was really looking forward to it as I have been here before and the food is really good. They've also given no date as to when the renovation will be complete - don't waste your time making a booking!
Initially found menu confusing as I’ve never eaten Korean food before. Starters were great and cooking on the bbq for main was fun and tasty
What was Bit off putting was the police prescence as they search the kitchens and then marched one person off.
The rest of the staff were very apologetic.
Lovely staff, delicious authentic dishes. We have been 5 times now and never disappoints.
We went to Oppa for an anniversary. Now, my girlfriend has an allergy to sesame, which like most nut and seed allergies is pretty serious and can sometimes require medical attention. I made a note of this in the booking, which was of course ignored. On selecting food we were basically given the run around, with the list of possible dishes changing pretty much with each visit of the waiter or manager to the table. In the end we were given the option of one dish, of heavily battered fried chicken. This then duly arrived with a dusting of sesame on the top!
The next iteration then arrived, but was so unpalatable that the only alternative which the manager could offer were some raw unmarinaded unsalted prawns to barbecue (I had opted to table bbq some beef). Unable to eat these, even after 30 minutes or so of cooking on the table bbq, my girlfriend left hungry and upset at our anniversary being ruined.
The manager and staff pretty much gave the impression that they couldn't be bothered to try and accommodate allergies, ruling out whole swathes of dishes which seemingly would not require sesame, or which could easily be modified. While sesame is an essential ingredient in a lot of asian cooking, we have eaten at plenty of Korean restaurants and not had this level of inconvenience. Never again at this one.
Really enjoyed the experience and the meal. Something different...
We had a nice quiet table after asking to be moved away from a very loud family with 3 very young "drumming & excited children"
Very friendly staff today.
Authentic Korean food and cooking in the middle of the table in an open grill is plenty of fun. The kids loved it as much as we did.
First time eating Korean and the waiter was friendly and helpful. The kimchi platter and the mixed meat and fish which we cooked ourselves on the bbq plate in the centre of the table was very fresh. It was light and very tasty. Nice decor - dark with back-lit colourful screens.
Went for a family get together - always fun to dine here with the cool your own meat option! Love it
It was such an amazing food and service. I love it all. The location is so perfect for me.
The food did not taste authentic and the seating was very awkward.
