Marylebone-based OPSO is a stylish restaurant and bar that celebrates the tastes, produce and social-style dining of Greece. OPSO [gr.ΟΨΟ] is an ancient Greek word for a delectable morsel of food, a fitting name for a venue that offers modern Greek tapas made with the highest quality ingredients.View Private Dining Details
Opso is an excellent choice for someone who wants to experience Greek food at very high standards but at the same time in a comfort manner. The prices of the food though is slightly overestimated (probably due to the location of the restaurant)
The service was extremely disappointing. The waiters and the manager were extremely rude and unaccommodating. As a regular diner at Opso I was honestly shocked and will be thinking twice about returning for such impolite and mismanaged service!
We had ordered some eggs as well as the infamous granola (which quite frankly was the deciding factor on where to eat lunch) however 20 mins after the eggs arrived we were still waiting for the granola. I asked one member to check on the granola and bring the bill - and if the granola was not on its way to cancel it as I had an appointment in 15 mins time. 5 minutes later I had still not heard back so I asked another waiter to do the same, he ensured me that the granola was less than a minute away. Another 5 minutes had passed so I got up and went to the till where I asked again. The waiter said they had not even made the granola so I said please cancel it and just let me pay. He faffed about on the till for 5 minutes and then the granola was brought out to my table - where I no longer was. Frustrated, I waited for the bill which again took 5 more minutes, despite me standing by the till. I received no apology from the staff, nor the manager just an explanation that they had run out of blueberries and therefore had to buy them for the granola. Should this be true, then I should've been informed of this from the beginning instead of wasting my time for what became 25 minutes.
The food was great and the portions decent. The service was polite, however, one of the waiters made us feel that we had to leave as soon as possible and that was pretty awkward. The reception was not great either and we had to wait for our table to me free for 10' after we arrived at the restaurant. Given the number of Greek restaurants in London, I would consider returning to Opso any time soon.
Both the food and the service was amazing- such a hidden gem! Will definitely come back!
Great food, absolutely delicious. We all loved it. Unfortunately the service was limited as the waitresses circled and pestered us and they kept looking at themselves in the mirrors (a bit too self-important it seemed?) Our waitress also cut her finger while opening the bottle of wine and she dropped blood on the bottle but didn’t excuse herself until we asked her to!! There was also blood dropped on the floor but it was never wiped away... until we requested!! Crazy service and poor hygiene!!! Of course it was an accident but still!!!??? Anyways I hope to return to give the restaurant another shot bc the food was incredible... hopefully the service will be much improved by then.
Amazing food always but pricey for what it is !!!
Amazing food and the great service! Would defined recommend.
Nice greek food, better for lunch, try to get a table on the ground floor
OPSO is one of my favourite restaurants in London. Its cosy vibe and amazing food, with a well curated greek menu, especially for brunch, makes it one of my regular go to places in town! The perfect restaurant for Sunday brunch with extremely nice staff.
Lovely staff, great atmosphere
Great food, good atmosphere
Friendly and welcoming . Really interesting menu . Were able to accommodate the fact one of party was late and we were in a hurry as well. Will definitely go back
All the dishes were great!
I chose after advice regarding dishes and was not disappointed. In fact the quality of each dish exceeded my expectations. As I was dining on my own I chose wine by the glass which again was very good, although relatively expensive for what it was.
It's a lovely place, although there is not so much choice on the menu. Everything has very high costs, you end up in eating different dishes for a very hight price. In London there are several places where you can eat delicious real greek food with much more affordable price.
Location is very nice and the restaurant is nice.
The best Greek Restaurant in London. Very authentic and tasty dishes!
Very unique selection for brunch
A perfect fusion of many tastes
Great food overall!
Food was delicious, slightly overpriced.
Good food, but too noisy and uncomfortable seating
Lemon-oregano chicken was the highlight of the meal, great favour, very juicy. We also like Tzatziki , it is perfect to pair with pitta bread.
However the Hunkiar Beyendi is a little disappointing. The tomato-cumin sauce was too heavy, and makes the beef cheek even heavier. The beef cheek was perfectly cooked, but flavour wise it was sadly a bit underwhelming.
Most tables are in the basement. Ask for a table upstairs.
Very nice place great ambiance and lots of windows. Food was delicious and prepared to our liking.
The fish was exceptional. the tarama was very good but the humus would have been better without the pumpkin. definitely worth repeat visits.
Nice food, Great service, cozy place, great overall experience
Unfortunately the scrambled eggs were cold and they forgot the guacamole. The waiter said it doesn't come with it, but on us insisting it did he checked the menu and we were correct. On asking for it we expected a pot to be brought immediately, but no, we had to wait for several minutes by which time the eggs were really cold.
Service for the second coffee was incredibly slow.
Our eeservation wasThis was soon after opening and the place was not busy.
No real apologies forthcoming.
The waiters do smile and are friendly.
A shame, as this was our second visit following a successful first. Undecided now whether to try again!
the food is not as good as i thought
Second time visit. Good food but a bit overpriced.
Amazing well priced food, very nice and comfortable place,
Fab place, beautiful restaurant, delicious food and lovely service. Not cheap, but great if you fancy a bit of a treat.
Food was amazing - everything we had was delicious, especially the mackerel. Service was patchy and not very attentive, which was frustrating when everything else was so great.
Food is a little bit salty, but still very good
Was really great. Always is.
Lovely evening with friends! We will be back soon.
aaaaalways coming back !!! I adore this place.. food & cocktails are great but on the pricey side..
Delicious breakfast food.
The food was really good. Definitively worth the price.
It was a bit loud but the overall atmosphere was really pleasant!
The service was good and very friendly and helpful.
We come back for sure!
We sat downstairs which was preferable as we were a party of six; we could hear one another in the booth. The food was gorgeous and tasty yet a bit on the pricy side. The ambience was great. The service was good yet confusing; there was a lot of staff assisting yet we or they were not clear on their roles. For instance, staff were near and seemingly assessable yet would defer to our wait person rather than assisting us them self.
I would give this restaurant another go.
Opso is an amazing experience. Greek food at a delicious level. Perfect for dinner with friends.
The best Greek food in the entirety of London!! Top notch meal, restaurant, and service. I loved the tapas style sharing menu. Our waiter Guided us perfectly through our selections, and offered wonderful additions. Make sure you save room for dessert as well, because they are phenomenal!!
We will definitely be coming back. I would love to try their weekend brunch!!
