Food was great, but the service was a bit hit and miss - considering there were relatively few other diners there, it should have been better. It was nothing major, but having asked for water at the start, we had to remind the waiter for it. Later on in the meal, I asked for more water as my glass was empty - and again, had to chase this up. In a restaurant of this level, one would expect the staff to be more attentive/pre-emptive to customer needs, and to be automatically coming around to fill up water glasses, etc, without us having to ask. Also, when we booked online, it asked if we were celebrating an occasion, and I said yes - our anniversary. Having booked for our anniversary on several previous occasions here, we were very kindly given a complimentary additional dessert with a congratulations piped on the plate, but on this occasion - nothing. Why bother ask the question ?

The venue is beautifully bright with a paired-down Asian inspired 70s vibe and perfectly located adjacent to Kensington Palace. The food itself is good with an eclectic mix that brings interest and drama. The gin rhubarb desert was a beautiful, Insta-perfect presentation of the fruit three ways. However, the service was slow and clumpy. I had to prompt them several times for drinks, to order and for the bill. It wasn’t busy but staff hung about chatting with no attention on the guests. The whole two course meal took nearly three hours. They need to match the service expectation to the food. Overall a frustrating meal which so easily could have been better.

We were there to enjoy the special offered during Great British Beef Week. We loved every thing about this meal. Service was also exceptional.

I am pleased you have finally returned to serving a proper Sunday lunch and it was very good. I still find the ambience rather sterile and not very comfortable. White table cloths would be nice instead of cheap plastic mats? The staff are very pleasant but apart from the wine man, they seem inexperienced and their serving techniques are slightly awkward. However, I and my friends, will come again as the lunch was good. As we all live locally it is an obvious location for Sunday lunch .
