Ormer Mayfair
This stunning art deco inspired interior of the restaurant, located in the heart of Mayfair, is awash with 1930s glamour with leather banquette seating, dark oak wall panelling and hand-crafted chevron glass screens. Inspiration for the food comes from Rankin’s acclaimed Jersey restaurant that has held a Michelin star since 2013.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere. That was our second time at Ormer Mayfair and our second excellent experience. Try the starter with egg, truffles and artichokes of Jerusalem. Really great!
This was everything I expected from a high quality restaurant. Great food and service, an inventive and interesting menu and overall a great experience.
The atmosphere was lovely, very intimate. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive. Food was beautiful! They added extra touches like truffles and palette cleansers between meals
Great venue... I like enjoying a dinner when I cannot cook at home what is served! I was up for a real threat. I also like leaving a restaurant not feeling stuffed like a Christmas turkey when drink and dinner are just hitting the perfect balance. I was not disappointed! Will I come back? Definitely...
Fantastic food, we had the vegetarian tasting menu and the food was excellent.
We loved all of the food. Beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. The wine was superb. The chef came out to explain each dish to us. The level of service was impeccable but unintrusive and discreet. I was simply given a new clean napkin when mine slipped to the floor. The set menu was extremely good value.
What a treat! The food is totally delicious, super wine list, delightful service and all in lovely ambience and beautifully decorated intimate surroundings. Fabulous!
Everything was perfect, food was excellent. Very impressive
Very attentive staff, especially with regard to allergies and no problems accommodating gluten free!
the Place knows the point to be a good one, good Michelin standard even though you dont have to book that early.
Dreadful. Food over cooked and when sent back was told the chef has cooked correctly. Overcooked Duck tastes like liver! I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants this place is a world away. Expensive food, ignorant chef and a panicked front of house. They knew it was poor but had the cheek to change dishes and then charge a full bill. I’m sorry but Mr Rankin if you were in the Kitchen you should be ashamed and if our were not I suggest having a word. What the restaurant did not know is that we also review for many magazines and newspapers. Just shows you never know who is in your restaurant and always treat all clients as ou wish to be.
Nice athmospher and overal good service.
Excilent food and winepackege.
Hily recomended
The staff were friendly and warm. Food was tasty , however portion small.
On the formal side, and not a big menu, but very creative cuisine with a fresh twist and excellent service
a REAL QUIET GEM IN Mayfair, VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, WINE PRICES ACCEPTABLE, SERVICE SUPERB.
Phenomenal service, absolutely delicious, really fantastic visit
I'd read some great reviews of Ormer and they were spot on. Very good food, excellent service - attentive without being intrusive. Had intended to go a la carte, but the 3 course offer was ridiculously good value. Impossible to resist. Rabbit starter was excellent as was the beef main. Looking forward to going again.
Impeccable service. The food is absolutely exquisite and beautifully presented: the venison carpaccio amuse bouche was a delightful and moreish surprise; the rabbit breast wrapped in pancetta was tasty; the Dover sole was cooked to perfection; the banana soufflé was, I know the cliché, to die for. As ever, the service was professional, courteous and unobtrusive. It is fast becoming one of my favourite restaurants.
Excellent meal! Loved the iberico pork
Third time back and it just gets better! Can’t fault a thing... 100% will be back...
We truly enjoyed our visit. Very pleasant service and the food was really nice - some really original flavours and combination!
They could make a bit of effort with the wine list (no Italian white wine over £50!) but we had a good Vermentino di Toscana under £50 - so can't complain too much.
Beautiful food with superb service. Well worth the money.
This review is going to sound a bit critical, but there wasn't much to dislike about Ormer.
We had the tasting menu, the cooking and ingredients are clearly top notch. But two criticisms, the portion of main ingredient was miniscule - one mouthful of venison on the venison dish, more cauliflower (3 ways) garnish that turbot on the turbot dish.
The recipes and presentation of the food was formulaic and reliable Michelin star type cooking - all very nice, very tasty but a tad uninspiring. When the kitchen did get adventurous, like with the venison dish, it wasn't really to my taste - the venison was tasty and brilliantly cooked, but the chocolate garnish (including a chocolate tortellini) was way too much for a main; other than the venison this could be dessert.
Cheese course is a must have, and the selection was excellent. Service was fantastic, although the staff rushing around was slightly distracting. The dining room itself is in the basement so no view of anything interesting, but it is nicely appointed and provides an atmosphere conducive for eating.
Oh and the wine list has lots to offer for everyone, although it is organised by price rather than country or region which is unusual and difficult to use.
This is a good and what appears to be reliable restaurant, and worth a visit as a treat. If we were to go back, I think we'd stick to the a la carte.
Everything was excellent. From being greeted, to how we were served to the food itself. We had the Chef's tasting menu and classic wine pairings. Very good, definitely recommend.
Exceptional!
The atmosphere is something else at ormer mayfair. We had the most amazing night. Our favorite waitor was definatly Sergio, i would have sat him down next to us if that would have been possible.
The food was outstanding, with the right level of creativity in the menu. We were also very happy with the service and ambience. The restaurant (we tried a 3 course taster menus paired with wines) was reasonably priced for the area, and especially for the quality you get. Highly recommend!
Our first visit was a great success and we shall certainly go there again when we are next in London. I think it is probably more attuned to small parties - say foursomes - rather than larger groups? very interesting menu.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service! sommelier is very good and knowledgeable.
Absolutely top quality food and service.
Enjoyed a lovely Saturday lunch with my partner and guest.Great food and service and great care and preparation of every dish from starters to the deserts. Really a exceptional experience and this my second visit in one week. Wine with set menu excellent and icing on the cake complimentary half bottle of Chianti to take home each !
Excellent service and creative cuisine. Nice to find a trendy restaurant without loud music
Overall good, but small portions and expensive XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Great restaurant - excellent food and exceptional service. The beautiful bar makes it ideal for pre and / or post dinner drinks and avoids having to go anywhere else.
My fifth visit for the fantastic value set lunch. Two dishes were sensational and the other two very good indeed. Service is impeccable, no nasty intrusive musak, delightful in every way.
Excellence Cuisine,Excellent service and Excellent Experience . Throughly enjoyed the experience each time invited guests who had wonderful experience.
Everything was the perfect: the food, the service and the atmosphere. I will definitely come back.
Service was impeccable and worked like a well oiled machine. We went with the tasting menu and classic wine flight and added the options of lobster ravioli and cheese (supplemented with a Sauternes Grand Cru). The ravioli, rabbit and venison were all other worldly. The sommelier recommendations included Bulgarian, Hungarian, and French wines - all superb and precisely complimentary to the dish. Total time at table was 3 hours and 45 minutes and this was perfect to enjoy a meal at a leisurely but not sloth like pace. We will definitely go again, possibly the best meal we have ever had.
NYE dinner at the Ormer, with a pre-set festive menu. Only good surprises in the plates - tasty, inventive, and delicate food. Service was impeccable, from beginning to end - lot of attention (but not too much), smiles and simplicity.
Special attention to the very discrete, professional sommelier - good advice on a very nice white wine from Chile for the night - and great service (glasses were never empty - wine or water - without asking or even looking. It could look normal, I know....but it becomes more and more difficult to get such quality service, even in most of the good places).
Great experience overall - quality dinner, top-notch service. Highly recommended
Everything from the service to the meals just simply amazing
We spent an amazine moment !!! The staff is professional and very wellcoming. The french man who took care of us was very helpful. The chef makes an incredible menu !! Bravo to everybody !
