Ormer Mayfair Ratings and Reviews
Amazing experience in every way. We had set lunch and food was stunning. I am gluten free and they were prepared for this - freshly baked bread and minor adjustments to the dishes- did not spoil taste or flavours. We are same sex couple celebrating anniversary - we were wished happy anniversary by every member of staff that we encountered and were given a special meringue with piped message on it! We will definitely return and recommend to others. Only minor gripe was that we were assisted to put on out coats before we we were quite ready to leave - we were enjoying the ambience and still chatting as many other diners still eating! Amazing experience all round.
Service was 5 star+, a graceful, quiet dining room attached to a hotel but separate. Food was delicious with personal and attractive changes to traditional dishes giving them greater life and appeal. Good depth to wine list including full pages devoted to specific producers, sommelier very helpful and not aggressive with his views. And the cost was unexpectedly kind.
Wow, Ormer, is beyond any expectation I could have ever imagined. This was not just dining, this was an experience. This was not fine food, this was exceptional cuisine. I had the Jersey Lobster and I don’t ever order lobster. I loved every bite. The dessert was beautiful. The melding of flavors to make artist and flavorful creations was masterful. A must in London.
We had a fantastic diner @ Ormer Mayfair on Saturday and the whole experience was just WOW. Food is spectacular, especially 'secreto of Iberico pork' is to die for! Service was great and we would like to say 'thank you' to the manager Agnieszka and her team for such an amazing evening. See you soon as we will definitively visit you again.
Our second visit and it was even better if possible. The set lunch is fantastic value for such sublime food. The service is impeccable but friendly,- a difficult balance to achieve. It also has a lovely atmosphere even when quiet. First class and we will definitely make this a regular dining choice when visiting London.
We thought the bar area pre dinner was delightful, with areas for privacy but with an inclusive feel. The staff were without exception engaging, attentive and extremely helpful. We love to eat fish and seafood and the choice on the menu was extensive and very fresh (superb crab and lobster) and appealing. The wine list is sensible in that it is possible to get good wines at a sensible price. It was expensive in total but we felt very much worth it, and will definitely be going again
Took a client here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The set lunch menu was excellent value and really delicious. We had the mushroom risotto for starter, followed by the cod for myself and beef cheeks for my client and finally, profiteroles.
We had absolutely no complaints about the food and the wine list was very reasonable with glasses on the menu for £5.
The only reservation I would have was the sheer amount of staff. Don't get me wrong, everyone we encountered was extremely nice and helpful but there were an unnecessary amount of staff. We could barely get 5 min of conversation in without a member of staff coming over to either change plates, dust the crumbs off our table etc. Difficult to have a private conversation.
First time to Ormer and I booked for a business lunch. From the moment we walked in to the restaurant to the moment we left everything was flawless. The welcome was genuine and friendly, the overall service level was sensational, and the food and wine absolutely superb. By far, the best business meal I had in London whilst in town for a week of business. Will be booking again next year when I return. Highly, highly recommended.
This is very much a top end establishment. The food is stunning and the service could not be more attentive. The cuisine is quite original and very modern and the food is presented with huge flair. Portions are a perfect size so, to summarise, it's all very hard to fault. It's not cheap of course but it's not excessively expensive and certainly worth the money The restaurant is situated in the basement (of a boutique hotel) but you forget about this when you are there; the place has such a good ambience that it simply doesn't matter. To cap it all, the location is great, just off Piccadilly.
Took our staff here for a evening dinner and was not disappointed, fab wine list, fab food and fab attentive staff who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, would highly recommend and would definitely revisit when we are next up in London.
We had a superb evening with superb food , wine and service .
Two points, when moving from the bar after having aperitif 'a we were then offered another pre dinner drinks .... seemed a bit strange .
Secondly , my scallop dish although delicious was a tad cold .... this may have been as it was supposed to be served , but didn't seem quite right ....
Fantastic night , can't wait to visit again ..
Fantastic dinner with friends last weekend at Ormer. The art deco feel of the restaurant makes you think you are travelling on the Orient Express. The beautiful ambience and thoughtful staff really set the scene for a wonderful evening. We chose from the al a carte menu and we weren't disappointed, the food was sensational an great value.
Cocktails I had never tried before were available and the waiters were able to recommend something suitable to each of our palettes. We had a lovely time there and I would recommend it gladly. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, worth the drive down from Yorkshire. Two thumbs up!
We had the tasting menu together with the tasting wines and it was delicious . Excellent value . Accessible for all but the most fussy eater and special arrangements made for food allergies. Wine pairings worked brilliantly. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ambience and presentation made for a most enjoyable evening. Only downside was it was 30 minutes before we were shown to our table and a lengthy delay between one of the courses meant the whole meal took over 3 hours when we had been told 2 1/2 and had pre booked a cab. Strongly recommend you come here for a gastronomic treat.
I really can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The food was as good as I have tasted at any Michelin star restaurant, and I am sure it is just a matter of time before this restaurant gains a Michelin star (an the prices then increase!). The food was outstanding and the service was equally good. With the set menu deal it is good value for what it is too.
Absolutely outstanding restaurant, we had the lunch set menu which was excellent value for money , even more so as we were offered the grouse dish which not on the menu for a small supplement , it was without doubt the best dish I've ever had.
It's a beautiful setting and the staff are a delight . We were celebrating our friends 20th anniversary and the staff made it an occasion to remember .
I went to Ormer with my parents and fiance. We had a great time and this has got to be some of the best service that I have seen in London. I have been to a lot of top restaurants and while the service is great the majority of the time, the one in Ormer seems very genuine too. The sommelier was great and recommended us great affordable wine and we all loved the food. Standout dishes were the rabbit and the crab, the lobster main and the turbot. The one thing that I expected more of after reading the reviews was the apple crumble - it was beautifully presented but that taste was fine, nothing spectacular. The amuse bouche was a nice touch and so was the truffles to take home - amazing touch that I haven't experienced in any other London restaurant. The bill with the service included was a little over 300 which was not as expensive as some other places in London.
